Since everybody in the comments has the spectator sharingan, I will simply add that fencing clean and defending yourself is much more difficult in matches between a left and right handed fighter
I can see they're holding sabres, but I can't see anything remotely resembling sabre fencing, at least not in the first half. After the break, maybe, for an exchange or two. Honestly, the form was not worthy of a final...
When two fencers of equal skill fence each other, it reduces to a game of luck rather than technique. The commentators also note that Kramarz is getting tilted.
This is what happens when you fight for points, there is no reality to it what so ever. Non of them would ever use a weapon like that if their life depended on it, if the weapons where real ones, for once they would be fighting much slower, since at the speed that they where fencing in the video it's impossible for any one of them to figure out what's going on let alone execute any king of a sensible plan of attack, or any kind of tactic. It's suicidal at that speed. In the end it all resembles sport fencing to much.
@@matthewpham9525 That would be true if the where beginners, luck certainly plays a big part in any real duel, history is clear on that, "Those who take up arms give themselves to fortune". But they are not beginners, at least that's implied by the fact that this is the finals, they should know better. In reality a fight between skilled fighters is often boring to watch because none of them are to foolish to try something stupid, it's more like chess. In the video they are just trying to score points... that's all.
Не ожидал тут наших увидеть:). Приятно.

Lab tech, here. Why is that guy not wearing gloves to wipe up the blood? Thought that was universal/standard precautions in most countries.
well... this looks like as if they're fighting with batons rather than sabers really.
The sabers are blunt, but one good strike can maim someone and even possibly kill them

suicidal fencing, it's just not any good... martially or aesthetically

This hardly looks like what's described in the manuals
hema tournaments kill hema
Kramarz is definitely off his game here, so it isn’t surprising
and manuals hardly resembled real duels i guess
