    Hello everyone. Here's another boot review. I bought the Timberland Earthkeepers 6' Original Boot back in December of 2013 and it is the first over $100 boots I bought. Timberland has always been popular back when I was growing up and for the yellow boots. These are some really cool boots. Timberland Earthkeepers are one of my go-to boots during the hottest part of the summer.

    Nice boots, growing up here in the 90s CATS had more status as a serious boot, I have a pair with steel toes for work that I bought around 2010 and they are still going strong

      Definitely can’t beat CATS as a serious work boot. I think I wore the ankle boots with the safety toes. I couldn’t pull it of as a daily casual boots though.

    Got these boots back in 2012, the upper is durable if you treat it right, but the sole broke after 10 years & mine got resoled with leather midsole + vibram outsole… Very worth the single penny for 11 years & still counting…

    I’m the same way, frugal as hell. Beans and rice, rice and beans. But everyone should own a few good pair of boots.

      Thanks and I’m glad someone out there understand my spending habits. I have boots and shoes I’ve owned for years. I usually sleep on the pending ‘cost’ I’m about to expend when buying shoes. My wife thinks I’m cheap but I rarely buy anything “cheap” if you know what I mean. Thanks for watching!

    I bought my tims for the utilitarian use. These look nice, how would I maintenence them? Should I polish them? The website says renewbuck but these don't look like suede/nubuck. Is leather conditioner enough if not polish?

      @StylishGreaseMonkey  Рік тому

      Hi, I only use conditioner for this one. I clean it with a damp rag and condition. I have used a water repellent spray on it before just to protect it from the rain.

    Great looking boots👍👍 Thinking about buying a pair. They do run true to size?

    • @StylishGreaseMonkey

      I agree that’s why I kept it around. They do run true to size. I’m an 11.5 and this fits real good. Now I usually wear a D on other boots and I’m not sure if they offer this in any other size (ie.. ee).

    • @briarconner5765
      @briarconner5765 3 роки тому +2

      They definitely do *NOT* run true to size. I just purchased a pair today, and had to get a full size smaller than I usually wear. 11.5 down to 10.5. They fit great otherwise!

    Nice review. Seems like a decent looking boot and I’m glad yours are holding out. I have owned Timberlands in the past and they have all fallen apart on me (not very surprising for $.65 an hour).
    IMO, you’re better off spending the extra cash on some Thorogood 1892s or Red Wing Heritage. You’ll have them for life!

      Thanks! I’ve wondered that myself. I’ve looked up some reviews for this boots lately and almost half didn’t have my luck as well. I agree with you in regards to the TG and RW. But for the price point, these particular ones surprised me.

    is it Goodyear welted construction or just cement construction?

    • @StylishGreaseMonkey
      @StylishGreaseMonkey  2 роки тому

      Upon closer inspection, there appears to be a stitch all around to what appears to be a strip of leather. But then again I am not the expert on Goodyear welts. There is a high probability of it being “glued” or cemented to the welt at the price point. It is still a tough bugger though! 😜
