Currently looking for a video editor to help me continue this series. I am unable to prioritize the editing time, hence the long delay. The only reward would be credit for the work, conversations about the material, and personal satisfaction. Call out to me in the Furi channel of the Game Bakers Discord if you're interested.
Further evidence of a biological connection is the "destroyed everything in her wake" line. It's our tendency to accept the colloquial meaning here of "wanton destruction", but when we finally reach the surface of the world, we witness death everywhere we have walked, literally "in our wake". I actually did not notice this double meaning when I made the video, and thankfully it would not have been appropriate to mention as I'm avoiding the use of information from later on in the game (otherwise I would end up with analysis paralysis and never finish a single video -- this is hard enough as it is). Given the rate I'm going, I had to share this now rather than ten years later when I get there. ;)
Hey, by the way theres a secret voice line at the end of this fight where the voice says she was sent here to PROTECT us, and that it was another one of "his cryptic warnings" referring to the next boss
Please tell me you're gonna continue this series? I'm REALLY interested in The Scale and your videos are great for learning more stuff about the characters! :D
He's going to continue, don't worry. Give him the time he needs. This is something worth fighting (or waiting) for. We may have to wait a long time to have The Edge's episode, but then again, he had to wait too, so...
You revealed to me how much more tragic that fight was from everything I had picked up on it previously. I am not disappointed in the least of your level of insight on the experience of this game/story. Thank you.
PLEASE finish the re telling of the whole story and re assure me I'm not crazy for the level of appreciation I have for the 5 dimensional depth of human growth the game touches up on from Buddhism, all things exists within, to every fight and character being equally relevant if they were all just figments of this characters imagination of who he is, was or could have become with each conquest representing a layer of hell or rather a resolve one must convict in order to become a master of the self and come into understanding the true value of humanity or the human spirit..... I digress. You're doing awesome at this please see it through. I'll wait.
Just as The Line was the hardest character for the devs to write, it is proving to be the hardest one to arrange commentary for, and for the same reason: it "contains" the spatial and temporal edges of the game and yet occurs in its midst.
Hey, are you still continuing this series? Because this stuff is fascinating to hear, the idea that the strap has such a strong level of symbolism to what it means to be a woman
Thanks! Part 3 is going to be a doozy. Probably the hardest one of the entire series, which is at least consistent with the dev commentary that it was the hardest part to write.
If i may add an another layer upon symbolism. After you described how her cell is symbolic for egg and stuf we need to remember that she is a prisoner here, forced by outer will in her position. And this will like this cage is not natural but a man made. She is forced to be a part of this. Forced to play a role of mother, mate, and a jailer. Like society a lot of time forces women into specific roles. Aditionally we see that she is mad NOW after torture but we dont have any proof that she was mad before. We told that she was mad before. This is intresting also since not so long ago every societal deviation made by women were considered a moments of madness Hysteria. So i propose another theory she was sane. Maybe she did something that was loked down by her society and was declared a mad. And then forced to be who she is.
I thought about this some more in the shower (as things tend to go) and I can't believe I didn't see this before... a woman's womb is metaphorically a cage. The mere fact that only woman can incubate a child restricts the actions she can take in the world. She is bound. If she tries to escape it, she suffers, one way or another, and the only true escape is death. Thanks again. I love this game.
@@ElBromoHojo tbh i didn't mean exactly that. Women didnt restricted in what they can do naturally. Act of pregnancy and birth can be a limiting factor but not as much as people think. I speak about societal norms. They are the biggest bonds. Enforcing specific roles on women. But like straps Prison this roles only look natural, but in fact they are artificial. And any atempt to break this artificial rules seen as madness or hysteria.
@@vladpw123 I would still argue that biology ropes in those societal norms, which is why there is so much backlash against breaking them, and hence suffering.
Anyway, I'm referring to the womb itself as a "prison" and you are referring to the social structure that is built up around that womb as a "prison", yes? I really appreciate your insight. "A prison within a prison".
I recently downloaded furi, cleared the strap. It was tense dealing with her and she seemed scary. But i am not sure how I feel now. It will be hard to face her after knowing these things.
There's a hidden voice line I didn't hear you mention that I found just now I'm my most recent playthrough. It talks about the next boss and he said she was here to protect us. Kinda, possibly, confirms your romantic partner idea
Yes.... That line actually reveals more about The Voice and The Line than it does about The Strap, so I was saving it for later. :) Thanks for pointing it out to other viewers!
I do wish I'd mentioned it, though. He says "grandpa" derisively to say "but don't believe that nonsense, either about her or when you meet him later." All the nuggets he gives us about her come when it's too late to have done otherwise.
This felt as if you were perhaps looking a bit too much into it. But eh, what do we know. We have no understanding of either psychology nor the human mind. Interesting video though.
I was expecting an analysis on The Line's prophecy that she was here to protect us, and the dev commentary on "The Making of Furi" confirming that she was from a race of good guys that arrived early by mistake. Instead half the video is about... reproduction and comparing the boss arena to a womb? Pretty weird, sorry
Saving the prophecy bit for The Line video. I'm also not including any material that isn't strictly found in the game. Weird or not that's what it is and you're welcome to posit an alternative!

Man, your production quality is through the roof and so much better than what I saw from many bigger channels. Keep it up.
Thanks, I guess that explains why my next video isn't out yet. 😅
@@ElBromoHojo Take your time and don't stress yourself above all else.

Thank you for the praise. I just wish I was able to pump them out faster. Time is in short supply.

Aye, she didn't fit into their system, disrupted it so much that they had to contain her. Thanks for your contribution!

Cool Concept i love thid very much ! You won a sub man
Thanks!
Damn dude the strap's lowkey kinda hot ngl
I really enjoyed this, thanks!
my favorite boss, nice vid you got a sub
Mine too!
Wait... Wasn't our character a robot clone of the exact same guy over and over again just older with longer hair
We never know whether he's a robot. "DNA unknown" is all we learn.
well time to wait another 3 months

Yes. Hopefully the next one won't take as long. Guess I'd better start...

Good job

Great video, though it'd be good if you could about 2x the commentary volume
Plssss keep going!
Work on The Line has begun!
will you keep doing Furi symbolism?
Yes. At this rate I'll finish in six years, though.
Awesome video! The volume is very low though. Just some constructive criticism for next time!
part 3 where?
A few months away if all goes well.
Is this project still being worked on?
Yes.
