I actually sat in their hoping that wrinkly sack of dicks WOULD die of old age. Such a stupid boss idea. Having ONE boss be completely different that all the others s just dumb, not unique or fun.
Try to play the game for yourself instead of dying on the first or second boss and watching a playthroughon YT.

+Devious Raptor The Line isn't even that different from the other bosses lol, the most different bosses are The Edge and The Star, because they exclusively rely on melee and projectile combat, respectively. The Line has his timestop gimmick, just like every boss as some sort of interesting gimmick.
To add to that list of "different" bosses is the final boss in the Shuttle(or whatever it was called), where you had to attack different parts of the boss depending on the phase(trying not to spoil anything).

hardest boss in the game imo
each shot on the mirror makes 1 ball , including charged , and 1-2 charged take out 1 mirror , and when hes on the pillar , each shot on it will make the wave thing , point is 2 take it slowly and make every shot count
I'm not sure if I should feel stupid for not realizing this or badass for eventually being able to get through it (well, the second phase one) without being hit.

@@ethanabramov6345 I did 100% the game eventually getting an S rank on Furier. You don't need to S rank every fight, I got like a C on The Burst and still managed it.

That moment when you realise than the old man knew you would end up killing him, but still fighted to his best. Not because he had hopes to win, but because it would give you the strenght and skill to go out of prison and finally win over the Star. He knew they were all going to die all along, for their planet to be saved by you.
They died for their home planet. But they didn't die fighting the alien menace, they died training the only one capable of fighting the alien menace. And about that rabbit-faced man... he just wanted to see his beloved daughter while being a valuable advisor.

This guy is the concept of bullet hell incarnate. This fight perfectly captures the chaos and zen you can feel at the same time when you have to *make every second count*
You have to be present the whole way in this fight, and most bullet hell games. Dodging bullets, moving around, and aiming at the target all at the same time. It is an amazing experience I only find when im drawing, being present in the moment.
I though he was then the song was a different beast.

Idk why but this old man really felt like my teacher, teaching me to slow down and see how to really play this game to think then act. The music stayed with me with each boss after reminding me not to be afraid, to make every second count, to see the picture, to set it in motion.

It appears I've stumbled upon the ground zero of a potentially intelligent discussion.
SHOOT AS FAST AS YOU CAN, CUT AS FAST AS YOU CAN, AND THEN- Die a lot.
The Line was a perfect example of mixing gameplay with narrative. He is a gurú, and he is trying to teach you a lesson using both perspective and patience, and how do we defeat him? With perspective and patience. You need to use the charged shoot to destroy the pillars because in that way you will only need to evade 12 bullets, while shooting a lot will cause you to become a Touhou Girl trying to survive.
Even the song is great... "Wisdom of rage", you can feel how even in his chillin out personality, that old man is trying his best to defeat you.
+Jules Harley I actually chose the hard way of dancing in bullet bath, and I never caught a single one in my first playthrough. My friend was looking at all that and he was like "OMG are you a superhuman?"

Touhou path isn’t that hard as long as you consistently travel in only one direction. Takes a lot longer though.
Let's be honest, it just isn't as fun without bullet hell.
I've S ranked the game on Furier difficulty and frankly he's easier to just rapid shot him to death in his phases, while using the charges ahot to clear the incoming projectiles.
Its a quicker manner of doing things and the screen turns into a Touhou game regardless on that difficultly.
The Chain was too arrogant,he fought only because he wanted to serve his purpose
The Strap was too blind considering you as a prey
The Scale was too rage blinded to fight well
The Hand was too honourable, considering you as a thing that could be bent easily
The Song was too false and only wanted to block you using lies
The Burst was too blind with her own ego to properly fight you
These bosses were all arrogants and designed to fail,what about the others?
The Line knew he would've been killed,but still fought to the last
The Edge knew everyone before him would fail at blocking you,so it passed eternity training and always considered you as equal to him,like a warrior honouring his enemy
The Beat never wanted to fight you because she taught you could be changed in something good.
These bosses all represented something pure and good,and that's why they're great
I'm not sure about your description of the Edge. As I see it, he lost sight of his purpose. The purpose of the Jailers is to keep the Stranger locked in. That should have been the Edge's goal as well, but eventually his goal became to just master his craft and fight the greatest fight of his life. There's a world of difference between honoring your opponent, and straight up giving them advice and encouragement on how to make the fight better.
The Chain didn't lose only because he was arrogant, but it was because of his sadistic pleasure that he enjoyed torturing The Stranger, and saw fighting him as a game/was very cat-mouse with him., everything else was pretty spot on tho
@@calsalitra4689 And well, he threw away his sword to fight you with a fucking oar. He thought he had the upper hand and that his training made him invincible. Aside from maybe the chain, the Edge is the most arrogant of all. He just saw you as a way to test his strength, never even considering the possibility of losing and the consequences of it.
@@saitamasama5743 I disagree, throwing away a sword in favor of an oar is perfectly valid if you have the strength to use it. The oar gives you more range and WAY more blunt force to work with. Realistically, range alone gives a massive advantage and power allows you to easily break guards.
In real life simple staff's are very competitive weapons against swords for those two reasons. Only reason they weren't used in warfare is because people put points on them and made spears. An oar in comparison would be much slower but stronger due to weight balance issues, but the Edge clearly has the strength to use his oar without any speed loss.
All of this is especially true if the Edge has more skill with the oar. Martial artists have been known to drop weapons entirely due to a lack of familiarity relative to their hands. Swapping out a weapon that isn't really working in favor of a longer, stronger alternative that you also happen to be more skilled with makes perfect sense.

I nearly beat him, then I died to his final attack which your supposed to parry. I think I rage quit Furi for around a week.

Surprisingly, this was one of the hardest bosses for me. Even compared to The Edge or The Burst, the patience needed for this fight really threw me for a loop.
That second phase, especially on furier, is just brutal. Patience really is a virtue in this fight
this dude was insane, maybe the most difficult of the game, or maybe he trained me very well my reflexes.
TSZARIFBUJ The song was a pushover on furier, only took me 3 tries and the hand is just an easy boss in general. The burst isn't that hard after dying to her 56 times on normal difficulty.

This is the most memorable fight for me, just all of the quotable lines, uniqueness of fighting yourself, this BANGER, and the implications that this guy knows he's gonna lose but fights anyways.

This boss really set in the mindset to strike decisively. Loved how he pretty much turned the combat on its head, demanding a more careful approach right then.
Everybody here saying that the best part is some of the dialogue, but me over here just giggling at the revive scene where Rider shoots The Line's ass while he's waddling away sending him into a blind panic worth remembering till next week.

Samuel Lopez brut is great for pulse pounding rythym, or ominous dread, haven't listened to enough waveshaper yet tho

As soon as I understood what this boss was trying to teach me, his fight stopped being frustrating and instead felt like a training montage,each obstacle became a lesson, this game really clicked for me at this moment.
2:15 and on really make this track stand out for me.

My favorite thing about this booss is that when you get out of the fight you really feel like like you got better, going with the bosses' flows instead of basically rushing in, because if you try to go force everything against him you're just fighting a wall

The last phase is like taking adderall and just finishing all your work before you even realize how you did it. You don't remember how, but you achieved minutes of laser focus straight and you will never so do again.
I found this due to an Elden ring montage and have to say it has been a while since a tune grabbed me instantly. Sounds like the 80's synthwave revolution for scifi films.
I really appreciate music in general, but the soundtrack for this game, and in particular for this game, unites so well the gameplay experience with the feeling of the music. It's just glorious. Excellent composition. This is why soundtracks cannot be passed off as just filler music - sometimes special compositions arise.
Haven't played the game, but this absolutely is it's own stand alone piece of art, like most of the soundtrack tbh. Composers, you did such an amazing work holy shit.

I haven't even played the game and I love this piece of music. There's such a contagious pulse and rhythm to it that makes listening to it very engaging when writing action scenes in stories and stuff

Lots of people talking about how the Line is super cool and he is, don't get me wrong, but what he did for me was solidify how truly dangerous the Stranger really is. Think about it, this guy can in a field control the flow of time, he can peer into the future as if it was a movie and the Stranger did not incapacitate him, he didn't remove his ability to influence or peer through time... he "made the picture stop"

2nd phase of this song fits the boss battle so well. As you get closer to reaching for success, it only gets harder and harder the closer you get.

heyj64 I think the protagonist is more suited to the Soul Calibur series as his primary weapon is an energy sword/blade.

I shouted a satisfying "Fuck you" every time I landed a combo on him after getting through his bullet hell.
Here's a tip for beating this dude: Do like Rich Homie Quan and never stop goin' in. You can interrupt his big swings and wave attacks by charging up your attack a bit and doing it right before. He'll then do normal, parriable attacks. Always try to hit him with charged attacks when he's not on shooting mode. If he's shooting, there is a pattern to it. If you have experience with shmups, you'll see it super easy.
