    I had the foil, but the pack with the tool was like 30 bucks just for tool. I have searched for days on how to use this foil without a circuit so this really helps. I hope anyone reading this has a great new year :)

      Glad this was helpful. I have other videos on using transfer foil and discroverd this also works for some of those techniques......the techniques without a machine, not the techniques with a machine. You should look in my Playlists. I love foiling without a machine and you might be surprised at all the ways you can use it. Have fun :) Hugs...Janie

    45 years ago I used this foil it was called "Shiny" I still have some, Thank you becuase You made me realise the foils you can buy are the same thing.I have been looking out for it all these years. But never realising till now. I have only been card making since end of lockdown here, about July...and didn't twig to it till watching your video here. :) there were no machines at all back then so all you DID do was write/draw with a pen on it

      Like you I was using foil LONG before it was a thing......before the machines and stuff. I have some other video that you obviously haven't seen on ways to use transfer foil without a machine. One is called 7 Ways To Apply Transfer Foil To Crafts WITHOUT A MACHINE! and the other is 5 More Ways To Use Deco Foil WITHOUT A MACHINE! I have a playlist dedicated to my foiling techniques (some do require a machine but not the two I mentioned).....just look in my Playlists. I hope you find more of my videos that interest you. Have fun crafting :) Hugs....Janie

    You are always thinking out the box..I’m so happy you made this video because I love the foil look❤️❤️❤️. I love the tag you made for your daughter. Have you noticed that foil works better with dark color card stock? I love every technique you used❤️❤️. Thank you very much for sharing your experiment with us...very helpful and interesting👍🏻.

    • @janiethecraftprincess
      @janiethecraftprincess  4 роки тому +1

      LOL I do tend to think outside the box sometimes. You know I have videos on how to use transfer foil without a machine so you can foil all kinds of things. As for what color the foil works better on....it works on all colors of cardstock. I used it on the dark cardstock because I was using the silver and wanted my viewers to be able to see it. But I also used the red on white cardstock. Gold on white is quite elegant but again it might have been hard for the camera to get a good view of. If you watch my other foil videos you will see me using it mostly on white. It just depends on the look you're going for. But it "works" on all cardstock. Also be aware that not all foils are the same. This foil is pressure sensitive which means it works with pressure. There are foils that heat sensitive which means they only work with heat. And then there are transfer foils, like Deco Foil, that works with a variety of things such as tacky adhesives (that's what I show in my 2 videos on how to use it without a machine) or with laser printed images or toner sheets and a laminator or foiling machine or iron, and other methods. So be sure to get the right foil for what you want to do. Have fun :) Hugs....Janie

I would recommend you get the Cricut Maker. I would love to talk to you more about the Cricut and answer your questions if you would like to send me a message on Messenger or give me your messenger name and I wiill message you. I also have the Expression....2 of them actually.....and the original small Cricut, and the Create, and the Imagine, and the Cake Mini.....LOL But yes this won't work those and I do have the Explore. However I have played with the Cricut foil a little and it seems to work the way transfer foil (Deco Foil, etc) works with techniques I share in my videos 7 Ways To Apply Transfer Foil To Crafts WITHOUT A MACHINE and also 5 More Ways To Use Deco Foil WITHOUT A MACHINE. I haven't tested it with all the techniques I share in those video, but have tried with the double-sided tape, so it might work with all of them. Have fun playing with the foil :) Hugs....Janie

    • @janiethecraftprincess
      @janiethecraftprincess  4 роки тому

      Yes I have...LOL....you must be new to my channel. I have been using transfer foil for about 10 years.....before I ever heard of foiling machines and laser printers (and before I had a UA-cam channel).....and I have made videos here on my channel about how to use transfer foil without a machine. The one that shows using double sided tape is in "7 Ways To Apply Transfer Foil To Crafts WITHOUT A MACHINE!". And since then I have also done "5 More Ways To Use Deco Foil WITHOUT A MACHINE!". At the end this video you will see the link on the screen to my Deco Foil / Transfer Foil Techniques playlist where you will find those two videos plus other foiling videos. If you enjoy foiling you might find them interesting. I have other videos where I'm using foil on craft projects but they aren't in that playlist because the foil isn't the main subject of those videos, I just happen to be using the foil on my craft projects. I hope you check out that playlist. Have fun :) Hugs....Janie

    Does the foil come off the card?

    • @janiethecraftprincess
      @janiethecraftprincess  4 роки тому +1

      I'm guess if you scratched at it long enough it would come off eventually, like any other foil even the foiling on store bought cards. But I did check for you and scratched at it firmly with my thumbnail for about 10 seconds and it DIDN'T come off. So I hope that answers your question. Glad you asked since I had never tried and it's good to know it doesn't come off :) Hugs...Janie

    Does it have to be cricut foil that you use with this tool or can you use any transfer foil?

    • @janiethecraftprincess
      @janiethecraftprincess  4 роки тому +1

      Not all transfer foils are the same. Cricut transfer foil is pressure sensitive.....other foils might be heat sensitive or adhere to tacky surfaces. If you are interested in foiling I have a Playlist on my channel with all of my foiling videos in it and it might interest you. I have videos on foiling without a machine......no toner or laser printer.....no laminator or foiling machine.....just a variety of adhesive techniques. But if you're interested in what I shared in this video you will need to use the Cricut transfer foil. It's reasonably priced and can be found at Cricut.com, or Joanna's or Michaels and probably other stores. I got mine at HSN. But definitely check out my Playlist......Deco Foil / Transfer Foil Techniques and especially watch 7 Ways To Apply Transfer Foil to Crafts WITHOUT A MACHINE! and 5 More Ways To Use Deco Foil WITHOUT A MACHINE! I think you will like them both if you haven't already watched them :) Hugs....Janie

      Cheaper than what.....the empty ball point pen I showed? Not sure you can get much cheaper than that. Did you actually watch the entire video? As for a stylus......I guess it will depend on the tip, but I'm sure with the right tip it would work.

  • @Ghryst
    @Ghryst 2 роки тому

    tried it, doesn't work, no matter how much pressure you put on it. in fact, the more pressure i put, the less gold transferred. had a cutting mat behind it same as you.
    maybe they have changed the product formulation.

    • @janiethecraftprincess
      @janiethecraftprincess  2 роки тому +1

      Interesting......I doubt that they changed the formulation since it would no longer work with their Cricut Foil Transfer kit because the way it works with the Cricut is the pressure. In fact one of the things I use in this video is the Cricut Transfer Tool.....the same tool that you put in your Cricut that puts pressure on the foil to transfer it to cardstock in their machine. Are you sure you are placing the foil the right direction? Maybe turn the foil over and try it that way. All I know is that this foil is made to work with the Cricut Foil Transfer system that uses pressure, so I know they didn't change it or it would be useless with their system. And it obviously works because I show it in this video as well as a video showing it with the Cricut. If it's defective you should call Cricut. I wish I had a better answer for you.

      @@janiethecraftprincess silver side down. perhaps my issue was the material it was going on to - though i dont see why 280gsm cardstock would be an issue if others have done it onto fabric-vinyl (so called pleather) which is a lot softer.
      and yes, im using it silver-side down, gold side up.
      it was coming out very patchy in general.
      honestly, i wish these companies would stop trying to push their expensive brand name gimmicks, and just make a product suitable for freehand work..
      well, back to leaf and size for me ...
      or maybe price their gimmicks appropriately, considering you can get 3d printers for half the price of a cricut now.. and a cricut is just a 2d printer when it comes down to the mechanics of it
