    Bruh, I met Magic Johnson at his event for the Urban League in the A. Skipped the line of at least 60 people and told him I have a picture of him on my son's wall. I pulled out my phone and showed him! I was like, "there's Denzel, President Obama, Hov, and Langston Hughes." He smiled that big ass grin, and Magic is like 6'9. I saw nothing but teeth. I pointed to his picture and said "that's you". He teared up. . No bull. . Then he said, "what's your sons name? " I responded, "Langston ". He told me, "Tell Langston, I said hi." True story. . Fuck Michael Jordan. .

    He was a great basketball player and a lot of people looked up to him, myself included. But you honestly can't say something like "he's the greatest so he can act however he wants". it's just basic social skills and courtesy, man.

      @jeremycarrier 10 років тому +33

      That's the thing about idols, people put them on a pedestal and forgive them for everything. You can still think he's the greatest of all-time AND kinda an asshole, by most accounts.

    • @ClaeWilson
      @ClaeWilson 10 років тому +27

      ViewtifulJC Yeah but there's a difference between being "kinda an asshole" and acting the way Cham and others have talked about him acting. I have bad days where, if someone randomly spoke to me in line at the store, they'd probably think I was an asshole, but I've never straight out cursed someone just for talking to me. Because that's a shitty move and it totally lacks empathy.

    Damn and i thought it was just me. When i was 12 in 1986 the 1st pair of Jordans came out. They were $72 i had a paper route. I saved and saved and saved and then i got em. After that i bought ALL OF THEM. My room was full of Chicago Bulls stuff. The clock on the wall, my wastebaket my over the door bball hoop, pillow cases. I was Jordan's biggest fan went to many games at the old Chicago Stadium. Fast forward a few years and i take my son to Disneyworld. Who do i see....my hero MJ so i go over to him and tell him I'm his biggest fan and could i please have an autograph. He looked at me like i was a crackhead or the scum of the earth told me to get fuck outta his face. I'm not a thug or a hoodlum and i dont dress like one. I was crushed my whole vacation was ruined. Now i realize we all have bad days but damn. This is how he talks to people who support his brand. Me and my son were both wearing Jordan 3s. Never again will i spend another dime on anything MICHAEL JORDAN. When i got home i gave all my old Js to the goodwill. Fuck MJ he is truly an ASSHOLE.

      I'm old enough to remember the Dream Team vividly and I had an MJ poster, same as every other little kid whether he was from Chicago or Alaska. I assumed that the Captain of the Dream Team would be a true "leader": stern and serious, but wise and patient, rarely speaking but always having something important and meaningful to say, and cutting no player any slack but always ready to help out a teammate.
      I literally cannot name a single Chamillionaire song, and barely recognized the stage name, but I knew he was a rapper and I didn't expect much in terms of storytelling ability. For the 0% that it's worth, 45 seconds into the video I cocked my head slightly and thought "Huh. This guy doesn't have the speech patterns or body language of somebody who's a pompous idiot or a thug with a beef. He comes off as surprisingly articulate and humble. He'd probably be fun to hang out with. Hope I never have to meet MJ, though..."
      Kinda like "Only Nixon Could Go to China", I guess... Anyway, there's my ignorant-ass report of how this video flipped my ignorant-ass preconceptions about people's personalities based on their job.

    I wonder why this story is gaining traction once again.. As someone who met and worked with Cham.. I have to say that I respect him. Lots of people in the Rap game hated on Cham because he wanted to do some REAL.. grassroot hip hop and the labels and producers wanted him to rap about BS and fake shit. Cham is a man of principle.. Rap music sessions have a tendency to be full of party, drugs and alcohol.. Cham was the complete opposite of that he come in the studio ready to work and was all business.. Most of the time he was alone. RESPECT! Cham! It's Abel! Paramount Studios!

    • @orangejoe204
      @orangejoe204 6 років тому +49

      For the $0.00 it's worth, I've never heard or seen the dude before and I don't listen to rap, but he totally surprised me with how entertaining the story was and how believable he comes off. I actually laughed when he got antsy about dropping the F bomb even though he was just quoting and he wasn't on TV. Not something a guy with a chip on his shoulder or a bad attitude does. Plus I actually enjoyed the story and the anecdotes to back it up.
      Never would have thought that the rapper Chamillionaire would prove to be a cooler guy to hang out with than MJ, Captain of the USA Basketball team, who's actually an arrogant psycho who'd probably stab me if I looked at him cross-ways. Guess we've all got our preconceptions to lose.

    There are many people who owe Jeff Van Gundy an engraved apology. Years ago he said that Michael Jordan was a charlatan. That Michael wasn't the "great guy" that the media, movies, etc. portrayed him to be. That same media launched a campaign against Van Gundy. Since then it's came to light many times over that he was correct all along. Since that Hall Of Fame fiasco I pretty much deemed him a total douchebag and he's proven it correct ever since.

    • @wesm2691
      @wesm2691 9 років тому +20

      Yeah what Jeff Van Gundy said was COMPLETELY true. The media made him out to be "michael Jordan, the best basketball player!!" And he looked pretty clean and amazing.
      When in reality he's a complete asshole, and just cares about destroying his opponents. I hate that man, I hate how the NBA was pretty much under his hand, and they portrayed him as being pretty much a good guy. When HES NOT AT ALL.

I was a huge NBA fan during the MJ era, even though the NY Knicks was always my team, I respected MJ's game. I never thought much about him as a person. I would imagine him as being a great ball player but ultimately a product of the south. I had an opportunity to meet John Starks a few years back and he was more than happy to take a picture with me. But Stephen Smith looked at us like we were the scum of the earth. Why? Because your a celebrity? Some guys have been brainwashed into hating their own color, probably the reason they often marry white women.

      @@mcbdllc136 not even. Normies worshipped him openly. Kobe was telling a story once on how he was chilling with some players, and they were referring to Jordan as Black Jesus, word for word. And he was like, "fuck outta here with that, I'm calling by his name Mike". They would definitely come in with that energy.

    I feel so damn bad for Cham here :( I grew up on the south side of Chicago, I saw Mike play in person when my dad took me and my brother to a Bulls game once. Never met the dude or anything. But his reign in the 90s, that was something incredible to be a part of, especially living in Chicago at the time. We'd drive past his house all the time, the one with the big gate with the golden 23 on the front. It's unfortunate finding out all the negative shit about him over the years. You would think somebody of his status would never act this way...He must have some sorta bitterness or hatred in his heart towards people in general for some reason.

He was divorced and he kept a tablet of all the celebrities autographs who came through. He was gonna give it to his son as a Christmas gift. I brought the tablet up to Deion and HE BLEW UP ON ME LIKE THE FOURTH OF JULY!!! Sooo arrogant and rejectful and narcissistic. +J Saun I helped deliver the furniture to that apartment he's staying at there. It was on the top floor and huge. Might have even been the entire top floor but I can't remember anymore as this was years ago. They made us wear white gloves and took our phones so we couldn't take pictures. Most of his furniture is stupid heavy but the worst was that fucking rug. It had to weigh like 200 pounds and was a massive struggle to get it in the elevator. Anyway, we did an awesome job and got everything done quick and those dicksneezes never even paid. I'm so glad Michael himself wasn't there - his wife was a big enough bitch on her own.
