99% of the people saying they were bullied have no idea what bullying is. This girl making fun of him is not bullying. Bullying is a scary violent experience
It changes you....sometimes for better sometimes for worse...back then when it was me.. i wished someone intervened but one ever did...Learned self defense and went to the gym later on in life....Now im the guy who intervenes who meddles...who gets in between damn the consequences
The way he was looking at her with his eyes, he definitely remembered her and wasn’t about to let her try and slide in with the “we go way back” like they were friends. Forgive but you honestly never forget things like that.
Yeah. U know in that moment he can't say "B!+ch". You see I made it now u want to act brand new. U ain't so big and bad now. Who da man? What's my name, What's my name, What's my name.
As someone who was bullied, I found great joy running into those same bullies later in life and having similar encounters. Call it petty, call it whatever you want. Bullying has a lasting effect on people.
I was a bully in 8th grade. Years later I reached out to her on FB and apologized. She accepted. Ran into her again years later and apologized profusely. If I could go back in time I would give her permission to punch younger me.
I've been on both sides. And the guilt I feel, even decades later, over the pain I probably caused is something I always think about. But the bullies rarely ever enter my mind. Tbh, I bet if she just walked up and was like "I wanna apologize for all that torment we put you through and you're an inspiration for what you've become in spite of it" he probably would have forgiven her right on the spot.
I believe him. You never forget you’re bullies completely. You can always remember the harsh remarks. So I can believe she was one of them. She was one of the kids calling him corny growing up. Which is why he’s calling her out now. I am happy for him. He’s got the last laugh now. I agree with you completely.
@@mskagome118 you know I had a therapist who broke down from an elderly man breaking down from recalling all this pain he faced as a kid. You are right, it stays with you and I wish bullies would stop.
It's ok cause he more famous more successful more well known more money than her while she just a interviewer with bad fashion and looks like a anime cosplayer
“The Corny Kid” hits hard. Anyone who wanted to be anything other than an athlete, rapper, or a drug dealer got called “corny” and “lame” when I was in high school.
Exactly. Because people are stupid. They can't even articulate the actual meaning of the words they so casually use everyday. And I do realize I used the word "stupid" and Iunderstand its meaning is NOT subjective.
Agreed man! I’m Muslim so after 9/11 it was another level but thank god there were always decent people and good friends. But girls like her were the first ones to make fun. She reminds of this girl from high school loud as hell always wanting the spotlight and when we all graduated she was watching from the bleachers
It's called "GROW UP AND BECOME AN ADULT" and stop crying about the kid shit passed.. you made it now, so grow up...be an adult( but that's modern day black folks cry cry and feel sorry for yourself).. its over.. its called kid shit.. you upset with people that where children at the time.. you did stupid shit when you where a kid yourself so are you pissed at yourself???... smh
This is true. I’m 42 and I still remember things people said to me at school. I am married with kids now and have a very happy life but I still think about getting bullied at school every day. It is forever a part of you.
@MrAddidas2People are all born different buddy, not everyone have the same experience of not being bullied too much bruh. Continue mocking others who got bullied, even tho you don't have any complete information on how grave the bullying is, will go a long way for you😅.
You shouldn't bully someone just because "you never know who they will become later on as adults", you shouldn't bully someone because you should not cause another person pain. Words can really have an impact on a child. Be nice to others because it is the right thing to do, not because of who that person can one day become.
What Michael did was right. Always watch how you treat people, and what you say to them. No one knows how hurtful that could've felt for Michael at that time ,and impressionable age.
You should be careful how you treat people, you reap what you sow!! This just confirms for me, to tell young adults, stay true to self, do well, respect & live your best life!
@@ytperson9303 Everyone has. That is what 13 year old high school kids do. Weird that he is bring something that probably happen over 15+ years ago up.
Her mistake was acting like they were "Buddies." When you know someone from childhood, make sure the memories are fond - and fun. Not when you were making fun of that person. If I were in her shoes, I wouldn't have said anything about going waay back. For those who don't understand an actor's plight, a headshot may be "corny," but in the professional business of acting, it's essential no matter where you are from.
She did admit that she made fun of home. You’re acting like she used to beat him up or something. Let’s see all the people who were bullied by those in the comments. Perfect people right?
@@missNCW Social bullying is just as bad as "beating someone up." Girls and guys bully in different ways. Guys usually get physical. For girls, it was reputation destruction.
He's the bigger man? Because some made fun of him years ago in school, he publically says she made fun of him, knowing he's a very famous and loved celebrity and she isn't as famous and loved and that comment will follow her forever, damaging her reputation and possibly future. Like dude... It was school come tf on ...
The fact that she said we made fun of the name…1) He can’t help his name 2) The fact that she tried to play it off and didn’t apologize 3) good for him. You never forget your bullies and who bullied you
Can you image having a bad day or not getting the gig and you have to hear all these haters as a kid. It's really inspiring to see this moment for Michael B. Jordan. To those who have a dream and are being bullied, hold you head up and know that the key to success is persistence. Don't give up. ❤
When we were in grade school and you f'd up the teachers would grab you by your shirt, drag you to the front of the classroom, pull your pants down(!) and paddle you HARD! I can't see GenZ having that happen to them. They don't know the meaning of bullies LOL

Yeah that was the biggest tell. “Misquoted for sure” without hesitation, like she had her lie and defense queued up ahead of time since she knew she might have to answer for that. “His name was Michael Jordan so let’s start there”…. lol. Not hiding shit
Yeah, I'm glad he did that. She probably made jokes at his expense growing up and thought she was "something'. You can tell from his body language he remembers.
@@Sayithowitis15 so I gotta say since I wrote this original reply, I heard the actual recording. And in fact, it was the other girl who said “corny kid”. So she actually was technically misquoted. However she does admit that they did kinda laugh at his expense. Just thought I should point this out for the sake of accuracy. She’s technically not lying, but in the clip she does say they were hard on him in some kind of way.
eh. not sure whats the case here but the other can consider it playful mocking and pulling leg. if the other still spends time with the other and laughs about it and never tells how it actually feels out loud how can the other know. its perfectly common. someone can even consider all the gamma delta things bullying
The funny part about this whole thing is that she thought she was going to get props for saying that she knew him. People never forget who has made fun of them or had a negative impact on their life now look at him he's up. I'm not saying that she doesn't have a good job but he's a Michael B Jordan okay that's all it is he's winning
Good on him for calling her out. I don’t care if the bullies have “changed” or “learned the error of their ways” years later - it should NEVER happen! Bullying hurts especially at a very young age. As adults we can get over it but the hurt still lingers from time to time.
You still need to take in account of the fact even though it hurts the other person, they were kids. Not only that, but many kids don’t bully without a reason. The underlying factors can be prevented starting with the parents, school, use of social media, etc. Yes, the bully should still be held accountable, but you should try to be more understanding
I was 9 years old and my grandma had passed away. My bully went up to me and said “Ha ha your grandma just died.” I’m 40 years old now and have never forgotten that.
Naa if there is something to laugh about this was not it. And you can see as she try explain herself its like she just adding anger on him. He was not happy
You can definitely tell he is still affected by it because if he wasn't he would not have reacted the way he did. He was bullied and he called her out on it. This is a reminder that words hurt especially when done to bully someone. He went on to be successful 🙏❤️
He's still effected by it because the same type of ppl are STILL calling him corny, even today, in spite of his success. It's more harming than ppl realize, especially when it's coming from within OUR community.
That’s why dudes with his personality should be the kind of black guys black women want to get with, im talking regular average guys with his type of mindset
@shadowsaiyan exactly andrea is a moron the only people who wouldn't be react like this are simps and weak people the fact his reaction wasn't that big either it just came naturally
I don't think he reacted in a wrong way, he just remembered what she said about him. I'm the type of person I would call you out on your bs and do it in a calm way like he did. He not really worried about her, he focused on him
The headshot comment was so stupid Like he can’t have headshots because she’s in the hood Like tons of people get discovered in the hood Maybe not in the hood hood but a lot of celebs came from humble beginnings Why would she even mention that
I’m 20 and was bullied from ages 10-13 and it definitely still affects me to this day but it also drove me to become the strong confident person who stands up for himself today.
Talk about downplaying the whole situation that Michael somehow imagined in his head? How pathetic can she get? Apparently, things haven't changed with her & he's the successful actor! Karma.. gotta luv it!!
I love how Michael B. Jordan has gotten so famous and popular, she will forever be known as the girl who bullied him, not for her own career or anything she ever do professionally. By calling her out in public like this, he's effectively put an asterisk over her name.
In Psalm 23 of the Bible, it says of The Lord, *"You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies."* Michael B. Jordan just ATE right in front of that bully!!! 😁
As someone who dealt with bullying myself, I applaud this from Michael. This is what happens when you pick on someone, bullying them and tease them in school. You’ll never know who they will end up becoming as adults.
@@iidentifyasaPSLGoddess Same thing honestly, people less successful as MBJ still get the last laugh when they find their purpose, and run into their old bullies and they are bums bragging about their high school popularity

I’m disabled and was bullied in school. (Physically pushed) I busted my meniscus. When it was time for my ten year reunion, the place wasn’t handicap accessible and the guys my friend got to carry me up and down were my former bullies. It was awkward AF so when I was leaving for the night and they carried me down, I just said ‘so this is a full circle Moment’ and they said ‘yeah!’ And laughed. I left it there. You really don’t need to be a jerk about it. I applaud Michael.
I was bullied in school for being different. Then you grow up, SURPRISE, everyone wants to be seen as unique. If any young folks are out there being bullied HOLD ON and throw yourself into things, people and places that love you back.
I was bullied for being “smart.” I always had straight A’s, honor roll, valedictorian, etc and caught so much hell for that every day of my life. Now it’s cool to be smart and successful, and all those jerks that made my life hell are out here barely making it.
That is so true. You get bullied for being different or eccentric. And years later, the same people that were teasing. You are trying to compete with you over offensive it's weird😅
She never apologised for bullying him and also denied it to his face so he snapped back saying “I heard you”. Can anyone blame him? It’s a traumatic experience for all victims of bullying. Yes it’s a long time ago but that doesn’t make bad memories go away. It may fade but seeing her face again brought back the pain and she’s trying to make a joke about it. She was wrong to bully him and therefore should apologise. If she did I’m sure he would forgive her and given a proper interview.
It just shows that she is still a bully in her heart, not growing up from her mistakes and a dishonest person that should be labeled as a 'red flag' that you shouldn't trust her.

Hilla back Michael B. Jordan. I was bullied growing up too and it resulted in eating disorders, which posted another target on my back. I love your advice to youth today going through the same kinda things. M.J.
This made me cry with satisfaction. I was bullied because of my interests. I started reading at three, and never stopped. In school, I skipped several grades and was bullied for I do not even know. I had to run home, which helped me in track. I had to hide, which led me to hang out in several advanced classes teacher's classrooms, which helped me graduate at 16 years old. Those bullies killed my childhood. They are all on public assistance, drug addicts or deceased. I feel sorry for their souls. May our ancestors forgive them, as I still work towards forgiveness even after 46 years. I ask my ancestors daily to help that 9 year old me as she grew up to forgive them one day. I will never forget.
I can't fault Michael because I would do the same thing with my bullies. There's a lesson in this. Never pick at someone in the present. You'll never know how they'll turn out in the future.
I read that the headline before I saw this video and assumed his bully was a boy. It's not so bad that it's this woman but I agree that she's corny 🤣 🌽 and he's having the last laugh now 😂
You shouldn't bully anyone regardless of what they'll become. It's like saying homeless people deserve to be spat on because they ended up "losers" anyway.
They were kids back then, I've teased a handful of kids when I was younger, because thats what kids do. Would I do it now that I'm older and wiser? No.
Not that it’s close to the same thing, but I was messed with a lot in HS for being a nerd (I looked like Arthur the Aardvark) & now I’m 6’2 220 muscle & occasionally I’ll see old classmates & it’s hilarious how they act.
I admire his tenacity from his childhood, he knew what he wanted to do and stuck with it. He didn’t allow his cruel classmates to snuff his dreams. I love the poetic justice in the interview. A list celebrity being interviewed by a Z list reporter.
It's symbolic of who ends up as what. Bullied kids almost always end up being the greatest most successful & ost importantly loved ppl which is why so many famous ppl were bullied as kids. Popular bullies always end up as losers or fall off in the end.
Man... His eyes spoke volumes. Whatever the words were that she bullied him with back in the day with were, they came right back into this head like an explosion of memories. I have to give it to him for staying composed and not letting those memories handle it in the wrong way.

I'm sooooooo happy he gave her that look in the end. I also love that he defended himself to that lady. She tried to laugh it off and make it a joke of it, but he stayed his ground.
The best revenge u can have against anybody that bullied u is success. The people that put u down when u see them and you're doing so much better then them , u don't even have to say nothing just smile and laugh it'd your turn now . I will give u a prime example I dated this girl in high school who thought she was so much better then everybody she broke up with me to date a drug dealer , eventually she had a baby by him . That was 25 years ago now fast forward that dude went to prison for life their son is in a gang doing nothing with his life , and she came to my job where I was a supervisor at a marketing company looking for work . Who do u think was picked to do her Interview ? Me lol now was I biased to what she did to me absolutely not I'm grown I would have hired her is she was qualified but she was not so I did not . She thought I turned her down for the job because of the past, not at all , however it did feel good watching her walk out of that office without what she wanted . U must be careful how u treat people she learned that lesson that day lol
Looks like he was gonna let things pass until she reminded him of her. Bullies are the worst, they act like everything between you is fine when you grow up and meet again, but they don't realize the pain they did to the person they bullied is unforgettable. If that was me I'd just ignore that person. Good for him for calling her out
@Connor7x , if he didnt like her so much, He couldve literally just skipped her interview lol. If he still doesnt like her and he remembered her but still chose to go over there just to act like a bitter ex thats kinda corny...nothing against him, but corny is just corny, if that's negative to you then it is what it is I guess haha

There’s a saying that goes “The axe forgets, but the tree remembers”. To the axe, they cut 100 trees a day so it’s no big deal - they’re the ones doing the harm, not the ones being harmed after all. For the tree, of course it remembers very vividly being harmed in that way and chopped down. It remembers everything about the interaction - in the metaphorical way.
I always hated bullies back in H.S. because i was bullied hard in elementary & first year of middle school to the point that i hated school. Everything changed when my cousin took me to a boxing gym and the bullying stop immediately after i made the so called “baddest” guy in school kiss the floor. After that i became the bully of the bullies. I can’t stand someone get bullied or mistreated in front of me because i went thru it and marked my soul.
Michael B Jordan was 15 years old when he was on HBO the wire. It is crazy to think that he went to high school with kids who made fun of him when he was on an HBO show that is arguably the greatest drama ever made.
I was bullied in middle school. But I had the rare experience to turn it around in high school. Most of my bullies apologized to me after being unaware of the hurt they were causing me. I accepted their apologies. But I’m still affected by it. Three years of coming home from school crying, getting anxiety the closer it came to going back the next day. I hated it. I had no friends. And everyone made fun of me. My main bully was relentless. She never apologized. And we never became friends like the others. She would go out of her way to mess with me. I hate bullies. Now as an adult, if I see anyone getting bullied, I step in. I don’t turn a blind eye to it. F bullies. They are so insecure And just awful
thank you for stepping in. Most of the times I got bullied by my "friend". I was more pissed at the fact that none of my other friends or anyone stepped in. However, they did whenever I retaliated.
Bullying is not okay, its not childplay. Emotional and physical bullying made me think, I had something wrong. But books by great men reassured me that I was not the problem, they are and if they dont like me, its their problem not mine. Don’t stay bitter tho. Kids are kids. Forgive as you have been forgiven by Christ. We grow up and need to find ppl who love and support us now. God bless.
What's telling about her isn't if she was part of those calling him corny in high school. As kids, a lot of us did dumb things as a result of our immaturity, insecurities, peer pressure, lack of knowledge, etc.... But it's sad when as a grown adult you try to deny it instead of just acknowledging you did some things as a kid you regret, but you've grown past that into a better person. Trying to act like it never happened gives the impression that you clearly haven't grown from the person you were since then.

You people reach for sympathy. Do you truly know what bullying is? Someone making fun of you is not "bullying." This is one of the biggest issues in our community that still happens today. I held my own throughout middleschool and high school, but I constantly had people try to tell me I'm corny because I was into filmmaking and acting. I was in plays and all that growing up. Saying that I was acting wh*te or that my activities/interests were what wh*te people do. Our community is so separated from within because of jealousy.
Same happens in the Mexican-American community. Being smart, studying and moving up by focusing on building a career and staying out of drama is ‘acting White.’ I embraced my inner-nerd and ignored those types of comments. How sad to have such a backwards mentality in life.
There will be people who tell you it's corny, it's this or that, etc. These people will always exist wherever you go even when you are at the top. Don't give them hate, don't blame them cause they are part of society and community like yin and yang. All that matters is you focus on what you doing, and perfect it. Ignore the rest that will delay your progress.
You're lying. If somebody says you're "acting white" it's because you literally are. You go around trying to make your speaking voice sound high pitched and nasally, and your attitude towards other black people was probably real shitty. And most probably you were just socially weird. That's not a "black" thing. All kids do this. I was in a full movie production in elementary school, played saxophone, and was a straight A student on the honor roll. NOBODY in my 99% BLACK hood in one of the blackest cities in america ever said I was "acting white". Now why is that?

Those people saying her over it were the bullies.

Factz
I forgot tbh after I faced some real issues in life
People always think of it being the weird or nerdy kids who get bullied, but a surprising number of kids who were smarter, more talented or better looking got bullied. Jealous kids just tried to pull them down to their level, making sure no one surpasses them. I have found it a strange phenomenon even with friends as an adult.
Very true!
That part. My younger sister was my first and current bully tbh

I love Michael B even more for doing this! Let little kids know they aren’t alone. Even the biggest stars had bullies.

Jealousy!
In the end, it's the bullies who are afraid, see you as a threat. You just keep being who you are in this world, unapologetically!!💯🙏
why dont yall just square up? like i personally would not accept being hurt by other people
thank you for stepping in.
Once I grew up, I made my body a weapon and if you want to mess with me, you sure are going to get hurt.
