@Amtrak&AWVRFan all the rolling stock is in a pool, it could be used on any line. However the lines you mentioned are the one they commonly end up on. You can also see them in thr MOBO and M&E often. The F40PH-3C can only run on lines where diseals are permitted and the cab cars any line
In addition its three lines (and their various branches) that serve Grand Central Terminal, Metro-North has two lines west of the Hudson River connecting Rockland County to Hoboken. They are effectively extensions of NJT’s Hoboken diesel lines (Pascack and Main/Bergen) and the trains are operated by NJ Transit crews, but Metro North owns some F40s and Comet V cars that are pooled with NJ Transit’s own rolling stock for the Hoboken division.

Why do I see metro north F40PH-3C locomotives being borrowed to run on New Jersey transit?
Metro North and NJT share equipment on the Bergen, Main, and I believe Pascack Valley lines.
