@@Azzaciel Not possible. You STILL need a charge skill to loop properly since 2x Oberons is only 140% NP. You need atleast 60% bonus NP charge otherwise it simply wont work (provided you MUST have da scope ready already)
@@gaoaibai6243 Ok, hear me out. There's a free unit that has 80% charge base. With Oberon that's instant NP. That same unit also deletes itself. Brand new after beating LB6. That's Wave 1. So, your other DPS has now 20% charge From Oberon. They have Append 2 just unlocked for 10%, so 30%. In comes the Waver you picked for free summon after beating Fuyuki(Free Perm+Storylock Pick SSR for beating Fuyuki is a thing now) You charge up 20% with attack and def up. 2nd DPS is now at 50%, Oberon tops it off to 100%, you NP Wave 2 Clear. Now you give that unit the crit up for 30%. Plugsuit Waver into another Oberon. Wow look at that, you are on wave 3/3 and have 30% charge and Oberon can charge 70% and you didn't even need a CE with starting charge. And all you needed from the gacha was an Oberon yourself. This Setup is Oberon+100% free shit and works with every AoE servant. No Kscope required.
Oberon and Koyanskaya ultimately don't conflict with each other OR override each other's roles, so for me which is better comes down to the overall value they provide for a given account. Given that critera, I have to say that fluffy bunny is the one that comes out on top. She just provides SO much value alone by making Buster Tri-Loops more broadly possible AND strong as a Support, and as a point Servant she's hands down the best farming Assassin in the game that can also do silly Buster Crit Memes just like the best of that bunch. Moreover, a person *heavily* benefits from having a native one on hand, since DKS is not NEARLY as good without a second one helping cycling CDs down with yours + the lack of a secondary unconditional DMG boost. The Prince of Lies, meanwhile, has some immense power to wield with his sharable 70% NP Batteries and NP Damage Up, but he's competiting with Waver in that supportive role. Of course, you could say that Mr. OV beats them out due to just being better at the job than the OG overworked Support, and you'd be right for the most part. HOWEVER, Waver is now practically a free Servant between both the first *5 Ticket and the PERMENANT *5 Star Ticket, while Oberon is a Limited Servant that'll cost most considerable resources to obtain, so I'd say that even if the prince is better the sheer convenience that is a 'Free Waver' can more than make up that deficiently . His S3 IS pretty ludicrous , but it's effects are one turn and you're force to save it for the last wave of a node because of it's hideously bad demerit, which compared to the fire and forget nature of every other meta support's Card makes it somewhat of a pain to use. Granted, this may not be too much of a problem on certain nodes, and the demerit can have some interesting CQ applications, but a cool inconvenience is still an inconvenience to work with. As an offensive Servant, his Pretender Class suffers from the same curse that Alter Egos do, that being the whole 'Why Use Them Over Zerks or Proper Class Advantage ? ' debacle. He's probably the best AT farming Knight Classes due to his kit, but if someone already has a Saber/Lancer/Archer/Zerk then get him for that role alone is overly redundant. If a person has an Alter Ego you COULD say that he would make a formidable pair with them, but you need twice as many Limited Servants to match one Zerker so it's hardly a cheap investment to make. The fact that his NP casts Invul on enemies is a bit of a hassle to deal with as well, since you either need to be sure his NP kills the wave or you need to equip him and others with Invul Pierce CEs to mop up stragglers just in case if you want to be absolutely efficient. So yeah, if you have to choose between them, pick Koyanskaya 100% unless you would benefit more from Oberon's S3 shenanigans or have no other Support Servants (if you skipped on Waver for some reason) to work with and don't have a premium roaster that would benefit from DKS. That's it, really!
I totally agree with you. Oberon is more like I fix others' issues type support. If you have whatever type of np waifu that for whatever reason just doesn't have enough damage to farm the third wave you just bring in oberon and it's fixed.
I get the feeling Oberon was designed as Mori support... You use him to buff the shit out of Mori, help Mori die after plowing the road, and then plugsuit Oberon out for someone else. Or, have Chen Stella him, and have whoever else come in. I.e: Hans, Merlin, Waver, Koyanskaya, Shakespeare, Leonidas, Chiron, Nightingale. Also, Oberon here gives me an idea or two... Wish i could save but i had like almost 400 sq go down the drain for np 2 Morgan and Np 1 Melusine, so i smoke copium for Koyanskaya/Oberon Lucksack with just 300 sq (already accounted for the sq we get from anniversary)

@@lammatt yeah probably going with Koyanskaya since i would still be able to do buster loops with specific servants while Oberon is just upping the massive dmg with some servants already have np2 Spishtar which had in some nodes over 3 mil dmg on last node (non mlb BG but no atk ups through events) was fun. But i mean gotten NP2 Morgan with 300 sq and got NP1 melusine with 90sq and before that Np2 Spishtar with 60sq so there is my small copium for both.

As cool as he is, I feel like DW really did intend for Oberon to work as a CQ hybrid support for mature accounts. I think Koyan/Vitch/Bitch makes so much more sense for newer accounts, since she has broader synergy with the whole Buster pool and helps farming, while Oberon is best working with higher tier Buster DPS servants, Musashi in particular since she can bypass the invul demerit. Regardless, I feel like with all the powerful servants dropping on JP lately, DW has something crazy cooking up - either for the end of Lostbelt or some Seraph/Ooku type event. That said I’m saving for Vitch if only to complete my tamamo collection 🦊
Koyanskaya is the better support for CQ most of the time though? In CQ Oberon has to deal with the fact that he can't work with Merlin, the 20% NP drain on second skill, and the fact that his third skill basically turns the dps into a dead weight
The thing is Oberon is more a Waver replacement, I mean people are still going to run their double Vitch setups only this time they can swap in Oberon instead of Waver and the jump in damage will be ridiculous. Also he has more battery, so yeah. Ultimately like ZTL said, just use whoever you enjoy most (and more importantly the servant that came to you), but one thing I am sure everyone can agree on, DW really brought Buster back in a HUGE way this month, between these two, Oberon and Vitch. Just do NOT use Oberon and Merlin together, or maybe do if you like to live dangerously, hahaha.
But you will be able to pick and chose Waver its not the same for Oberon, its literally like "are you willing to spent hundreads of quartz in Oberon or Vitch" that's the type of choice one has to make
@@tribopower of course it depends a lot on luck. I've been living that YOLO gatcha life in FGO JP ever since I started late last year and so far it has worked out great for me. Sure, I didn't get everyone I wanted but I'd say my current batting average is around 60-70%. Got Melusine last month with everything I had (no Percy sadly), despite also getting an Altera spook that I thought would make Lolilot impossible to get. Then Vitch came quite easy so I ended up saving more than 300 SQ from the anniversary reward. The plan was to keep all of that for summer 6 but then I found out Oberon and Vitch can make even my NP1 Melusine into one of the hardest hitting neutral farmers in the game... with ANY CE. So then of course I burned all I had to get Oberon, 121 rolls later I had no Oberon and nothing for summer 6... yeah... it blew big time. But I didn't give up, scrapped together enough for one more multi and I got him, it was actually roll number 123, haha. So even as a F2P player you can still get there... you just have to believe it... and also make a sacrifice to the gatcha gods, but we don't talk about that one..... shhhhh..... what? I didn't say anything...
People mostly compare Oberon and Vitch in their abilities to allow loops. Oberon works for more servants. That being said, i still think she's better because of all the other stuff she brings for any battles that aren't regular farming.
Oberon also works outside of farming, you just have to work around the demerits... You can use him as a stall dps by abusing the sleep and charge spamming, as a plug in dps with some utility that can help a bit with survival or bringing stability to teams, or as someone who dumps buffs then self-taunts, tanks hits for a while, dies and brings another support in. Not saying he is better than her, but he certainly works :p. Just be mindful of his quirks
See, Koyanskaya is good, but Oberon enables three turn farming with every AOE servant in the game. I think I know which one that I'm going to pick. I wanna three turn farm reliably with my Nero thank you very much. EDIT: Look, I saw the argument down below, so this is just getting put in so that people understand how the system works. First turn, you either use your FREE Habetrot with just any old ce equipped, or Arash with a fifty percent CE and a maxed third skill. Than you use your FREE SERVANTS to along with Oberon's 20% party charge skill to give the party charge, then use either Arash's charge skill or Habetrot's 80% skill and her insta-die one to make so that they can fire off their noble phantasm that turn, clearing the first wave. After that, they die, and your next servant with a 50% battery, probably Waver, come in. Second turn. Next, you dump all of Waver's charge on the second dps servant who either A: You've only unlocked their second Append skill and it's at level one, giving you the necessary 10%, or B: they have a self charge skill that they can utilize that gives them at least 10%. After which, you swap out your Waver for the second Oberon, and have him use his 20 party charge skill to get them up to 100%, then fire off their noble phantasm Third turn, have both Oberon's dump all of their skills on the dps, then fire off the third and last noble phantasm. And there you have it, an almost completely F2P way to three turn farm virtually everything in the game. So while you make a lot of VERY good points in your video that I agree with, Yes Vitch is a better DPS and general support really, Oberon does something completely unprecedented and also completely revolutionary. He enables three turn farming for everyone. First, with Skadi, you had to have Skadi, one of the compatible SR's, or SSR's, and a super scope, or a bunch of plugsuits. With Castoria, you need Castoria, a compatible servant, with Paracelsus being the only F2P one and he was bad at it, and that was it, which was even better. Vitch is like that too, you need Vitch, and one of the compatible servants, of which only one was available for free, Cas Cu. All of these systems were good, but all of them were only available to people with EX luck, or Whales. Oberon, on the other hand, you just need Oberon, and a 50 percent charge, which you can get with your free waver that you either got from the free ticket from 2020 or the 6th anni, the point is, you need one servant and you can farm virtually everything in the game with Kiyohime. So, if I had to choose between the two, EVERY, SINGLE, TIME, I would rather have Oberon. Just because of the sheer level of Bullshit that he is capable of outputting. Just my opinion. Not really... See, while the Oberon system is good, it is probably the worst out of all of the loop systems. Skadi will give you insane crit damage, meaning that your follow up damage after you np will be a lot higher Castoria allows for much more consistent np looping, and also, she's castoria. She's the most busted servant in the game right now. And koyanskaya, well, with double koyanskaya and Morgan you can farm everything in the game. The damage numbers are ridiculous. So for whales, this system is really nothing more than a cool way for them to loop with a servant they especially like. Koyanskaya will still be the better pick for them, because she'll be an all around better support. But for a f2p or minnow like myself? Consistent three turn farming without going broke getting high np levels on an ssr? That's invaluable. So while koyanskaya is definitely the better support, I would still pick Oberon because of the sheer amount of farming that I need to do.
Also, just want to add this. You could make a completely f2p team besides Oberon with Shakespeare, Arash or habetrot, and Spartacus. Just use Spartacus' third skill at max level, which it should be at, have his second append skill unlocked, and you don't even need waver or another 50% charger.
I think Oberon is a servant that lacks a coherent identity, which is appropriate I guess. The guaranteed AoE sleep on his NP that makes it so you don't wake up the enemy by accident that also removes offensive buffs just screams challenge quest for me, while the fact that he has the highest targeted charge in the game at 70% screams farming. The third skill is just confusing - with the obscene demerits attached to it you REALLY want to use it on the last turn of a given quest but the benefits of it are of debatable worth. It's basically Susberon going up to a buster DPS and saying "Hey. You wanna 100% literally 1-hit-kill Goetia?" The stupid amount of damage you do is really unnecessary for 3-turn farming (how many nodes do you know which end with an enemy that has 400k hp or more?) and also overkill for most bosses too (how many of those do you know with 400k HP in their last breakbar that don't appear in events with special damage CEs?). Koyanchihuahua has a much more well defined role - she's a Offensive Buster Support that can put out some damage herself should the need arise. With her cooldown reduction I think she can even be good in challenge quests since she could even use this on another support like Castoria or more likely Merlin to get their part-wide defensive abilities online quicker. My personal preference would be with Evil Tammie rather than Mothman 2.0 as for 1) I already have the OG Mothman (QSH, at NP2 might I add), 2) There are no downsides inherent with using her while those do exist for Edgeberon and 3) I really wanna clap her cheeks for what she's been putting us through since arc 2 began, maybe also yeet her with Chen Gong a few times while I grind up her bond level - she might not have any damage bonuses but 50% NP is 50% NP. I do kinda want both of them but DW decided to give them to us back to back so it is unlikely I'll have enough Quartz left for the other backstabber.
actually you can use his obscene amount of damage in a secondary dps or even main dps if you have another dps. Through you can actually destroy boss break bar orsomething else to bring out from difficult part of that fight and then use your another dps or main dps to finish him and to do the other works. in short you can use his buffs on other or even dps to help to cross that damage mark in a difficult fight which obstructs you.
And does an amazing job at it. He is still a 70% charger for 1 servant. In farming, If you don't have Koyanskaya, Castoria, or Skadi, he can replace them and can "pretend" to do a Double system which works.
Oberon in my opinion just seems like a secondary dps that's ment to help off the enemy plus his skills more or less to me seem to be here I'll give you theses buffs and help you off the enemy but if you can't I will kinda vibe I get.
Unless that skill also reduces skill CD on the targeted servant, he still can't compete with Vitch for farming. Look, Merlin is fine, he doesn't need a buff, Merlin is a better servant to bring as a buster support for Challenge Quests and boss fights in story. He still absolutely holds up even to this day, even with the HUGE boost Buster got this month. Vitch you bring to farm nodes during events with buster servants. And then there's Oberon, who I guess you can just use as a replacement for Waver to swap him in and do the UNGA BUNGA damage on turn 3. That's especially a RIDICULOUS setup you can try with a Melusine equipped with a black grail CE, as at that point she becomes one of the hardest hitting if not the hardest hitting neutral farmers in the game. Fortunately I am one of the few lucky bastards that somehow managed to get Melusine (Fairy Knight Lancelot), Vitch AND Oberon in the last month, so I know this is IT as far as farming team comps go, as now I can run a full team with ANY CE on everyone. But if we're talking strictly a Merlin buff, like someone else said, I'd just extend his 3rd skill's crit buff from 1 turn to 3 turns and maybe turn the 50% buster up into a 60% buster up, just to spice things up and give him something neither Vitch or Oberon have as far as buffs go. But also, again, I don't think Merlin actually needs a buff, as he already has something neither Vitch nor Oberon have, which is survivability, between his team-wide invincible and the heal from his NP (and all the other goodies that come with Garden of Avalon).
@@Ebosan87 I also don't think he needs a buff. He's still super busted. But given they did hint at him possibly getting a buff I'd think it'd be a way to give a unit 50% charge like all of the new aged big supports.
Tamamo is better for long lasting, Oberon works better for a one shot type of deal. I’d say Tamamo is overall better because she doesn’t have that horrible demerit.
A fun team I thought of is a buster dps(morgan in this case), oberon, arash, vitch and merlin with a plug suit command code to swap out oberon for merlin.
@@sezzomon6625 I have, she is a 4* arts so she costs more than arash and doesn't match buster, but given how she also uses sacrifice you can replace or add her to the team for more np ammo. Nice to get a FP 4* this good.
@@coffen946 Yeah I get the teamcost thing but she doesn't need her own CE and saves cost that way. Her card type shouldn't matter since you probably wont use oberons s1 on turn 1 anyway since W1 is pretty easy to kill most times. It's always nice to have other options anyways.
One thing that people forget is that 2 Merlins can go with 1 Vitch... but 1 Oberon can't go with 2 Merlins... you have to think... at that point who does really more damage ? Then again that's already whale territory...
i would treat with obreon as buster tamamo good swap in target for farming when you need the extra damage or want him to clear certain mix nodes . In cqs Oberon is in a werid place he can buy aloooot of time while doing respectable dmg i would say hes pretty busted and better then vitch since he has a aoe 20% battery on a 5 turn cd and the 3 turn taunt on his 3rd skill can buy you alot of time and do some pretty cool setups, and his np is basically a one turn break , but all that is kinda shot in the kneecaps since you cant really run him with merlin and you really want merlins hard defense and sustain for long fights .
I'm just gonna give both koyanskya's and oberon a miss for a couple reasons. A) i've been doing fine without them so far and i seriously doubt that's changing anytime soon. B) I'd rather save for castoria, morgan and fairy lancelot.
Just a question. Castoria is my priority and I have enough SQ for pity just in case... If I still have SQ after that I wanna go for Melusine too. Do they work well together ? Or are you just going for them because you like them ? I remember hearing that Koyanskaya is the best support for Melusine since she has a Buster AOE NP but I don't really like Koyan.

@@azuredragon9276 well my best servant right now is Herc and he is at bond 9 he is so much stronger than the rest of my servants that I didn't even know about his bond CE for a while. From what I searched there is no real faster way to do it... Just gotta always have the servant you wanna bond with in your party and forget about it so that it doesn't feel that long.
Merlin-> God-tier boss battle support. Has meh farming. Oberon-> God-tier farming support. Has meh boss battle support. Koyanskaya-> Does both exceptionally well, and is the higher value servant in any individual comparison. That being said, double Oberon's niche is that append skills allow him to enable 6 CE farming if used alongside Habertrot. Even then, it requires Koyanskaya unless the DPS has a 50% battery skill, and you sacrifice damage for it. In which case, double Koyanskaya is better. So Oberon's farming has the highest potential gains, but Koyanskaya will remain consistent.
The problem with konyaskaya farming imo is that you need to concentrate to use her, if you use the first skill wrongly then the loop ends. Whereas double Oberon is just Oberon attack, Oberon 2 attack, final attacker with black grail attack.

@@lenleon3699 Challenge quests are one thing, but do you really want to make farming more tedious in this game? It is after all storyline based, and the focus of the game is to collect characters. Personally I think it's good that they release charas that allows servants you can't use for farming much prior to now farm - it does get boring seeing the same np over and over again. I just think it was rather rude of you to insult how people play the game, of course if you do not mean it as an insult then I apologize for misunderstanding.

The simple answer is no, he is not even close those servants in terms of farming capabilities. But.. you have to know that Merlin offer a different type of support compare to those servants in the video.
Merlin is a very different type of support, just be warned that Oberon does not mesh well with Merlin due to one of Oberon's passive skills, straight up making it so Merlin's buffs might not work.
Oberon is better without competition. He could be the only gold servant that you ever summon and you're able to 3turn with any aoe you want. (need to have completed LB6 and picked waver with free 5* which you would do you care about gameplay) This video is another case of "idk what he's designed for but I rate him anyway" Koyanskaya is obviosly still pretty good though.
@@doubleoz1 90% of the content is farming though and 3t is the most efficent way to deal with them and Oberon is not limited to specific servants and CE's like castoria, skadi and koyanskaya. Koyanskaya has 0 sustain for her or her team while Oberon at least has a stun/ sleep on his np and can choose who's going to die on a ST np if you need to protect a specific servant. Oberon is probably better and you can't convince me otherwise.

BOTH Koyan and Oberon are very good servants so I think there should NOT be ANY comparisons here. Besides that Oberon should be compared to Waver, not to Koyan or Merlin. He is an NP charge bot and doesnt provide the massive buffs that are needed to clear the waves (60% NP damage buff is pretty good though but.... yeah thats not nearly enough tbh). Koyan is the support for 3T teams while Oberon is the servant that you plugsuit in T3 to clear the last big wave. DO NOT be deceived by xNaya's super whale 6 event CEs Double Oberon shenaningans IT WONT WORK less you are very high level and dont care about the team cost. Also you must be willing to use Plugsuit just to 3T with him and... Yeah Plugsuit bad go figure tbh. Double Koya also relies on a specific MC but I think it will provide more overall damage AND offers a better playstyle than your classic braindead plugsuit waver comps. Double Oberon is an extremely feast or famine comp imho if you are strong enough to clear the waves with just a 30% NP damage buff then sure, why not? But otherwise Double Koya should ALWAYS be better most of them tims imho.
I don't care who is the best because I have Tamamo Vitch, Arjuna Alter lv.100, Oberon NP2, Morgan, Fairy Tristan NP5 and Fairy Gawain NP5. I have to thank the thrift and the free anniversary crystals and tickets if Christmas came earlier. I'm sorry for Melusine, but you can't have it all. May the force (of buster) be with you (and me). But it must be said that Oberon is a moooooooore neutral support than Koyanskaya. The 130% NP boost and 80% charge are good for everyone. If you don't care about Buster (only), I think Oberon is the best choice.

Nope. The Habetrot setup is EXTREMELY expensive and simply doesnt work vs Assassins. Besides all of that I think you will need to use plugsuit + waver... And thats a bit too much if I wanted to plugsuit then i would just use Castoria instead

But still, must people would use double castoria instead of double Koyan/double Oberon. (only exeption is irregular waves)
Small thing but i just hate it when people keep saying busterloop. That like in of itself is an oxymoron. This is buster loop in the same way that having waivers lets you "buster loop" its looping on charge skills alone not using any refund.
It's still looping, launching 3 NPs in a row. By your metric, anyone who doesn't refund 100% on NP alone is not looping because they use chatge skills. Skadi looping isn't a thing amirite?

@@homulity5293 The point is that the comp is NP looping in some form. This is something Arts can do naturally, and Quick can do to some extent, but was out of reach for Buster due to limitations in supports and the Buster Card’s inherent lack of NP Gain. And if you truly want to point out the difference between art and quick looping, it is obviously the over reliance of many Quick servants on crits to make up for the lower NP Gain (compared to Arts).

There's a free unit that has 80% charge base. With Oberon that's instant NP. That same unit also deletes itself. Brand new after beating LB6. That's Wave 1.
So, your other DPS has now 20% charge From Oberon. They have Append 2 just unlocked for 10%, so 30%.
In comes the Waver you picked for free summon after beating Fuyuki(Free Perm+Storylock Pick SSR for beating Fuyuki is a thing now)
You charge up 20% with attack and def up. 2nd DPS is now at 50%, Oberon tops it off to 100%, you NP Wave 2 Clear.
Now you give that unit the crit up for 30%. Plugsuit Waver into another Oberon. Wow look at that, you are on wave 3/3 and have 30% charge and Oberon can charge 70% and you didn't even need a CE with starting charge.
And all you needed from the gacha was an Oberon yourself. This Setup is Oberon+100% free shit and works with every AoE servant.
No Kscope required.

Oberon and Koyanskaya ultimately don't conflict with each other OR override each other's roles, so for me which is better comes down to the overall value they provide for a given account. Given that critera, I have to say that fluffy bunny is the one that comes out on top. She just provides SO much value alone by making Buster Tri-Loops more broadly possible AND strong as a Support, and as a point Servant she's hands down the best farming Assassin in the game that can also do silly Buster Crit Memes just like the best of that bunch. Moreover, a person *heavily* benefits from having a native one on hand, since DKS is not NEARLY as good without a second one helping cycling CDs down with yours + the lack of a secondary unconditional DMG boost.
The Prince of Lies, meanwhile, has some immense power to wield with his sharable 70% NP Batteries and NP Damage Up, but he's competiting with Waver in that supportive role. Of course, you could say that Mr. OV beats them out due to just being better at the job than the OG overworked Support, and you'd be right for the most part. HOWEVER, Waver is now practically a free Servant between both the first *5 Ticket and the PERMENANT *5 Star Ticket, while Oberon is a Limited Servant that'll cost most considerable resources to obtain, so I'd say that even if the prince is better the sheer convenience that is a 'Free Waver' can more than make up that deficiently . His S3 IS pretty ludicrous , but it's effects are one turn and you're force to save it for the last wave of a node because of it's hideously bad demerit, which compared to the fire and forget nature of every other meta support's Card makes it somewhat of a pain to use. Granted, this may not be too much of a problem on certain nodes, and the demerit can have some interesting CQ applications, but a cool inconvenience is still an inconvenience to work with.
As an offensive Servant, his Pretender Class suffers from the same curse that Alter Egos do, that being the whole 'Why Use Them Over Zerks or Proper Class Advantage ? ' debacle. He's probably the best AT farming Knight Classes due to his kit, but if someone already has a Saber/Lancer/Archer/Zerk then get him for that role alone is overly redundant. If a person has an Alter Ego you COULD say that he would make a formidable pair with them, but you need twice as many Limited Servants to match one Zerker so it's hardly a cheap investment to make. The fact that his NP casts Invul on enemies is a bit of a hassle to deal with as well, since you either need to be sure his NP kills the wave or you need to equip him and others with Invul Pierce CEs to mop up stragglers just in case if you want to be absolutely efficient.
So yeah, if you have to choose between them, pick Koyanskaya 100% unless you would benefit more from Oberon's S3 shenanigans or have no other Support Servants (if you skipped on Waver for some reason) to work with and don't have a premium roaster that would benefit from DKS. That's it, really!

I totally agree with you. Oberon is more like I fix others' issues type support. If you have whatever type of np waifu that for whatever reason just doesn't have enough damage to farm the third wave you just bring in oberon and it's fixed.
The way is see it is that
Merlin is the sustain buster support
Vitch is the looping buster support
Oberon is a 2.dps buster support
Oberon is a looper support too, just for a different kind of team synergy.
Personally I think that Oberon is more like Waver then any of the other supports. More universal, I guess.

As cool as he is, I feel like DW really did intend for Oberon to work as a CQ hybrid support for mature accounts. I think Koyan/Vitch/Bitch makes so much more sense for newer accounts, since she has broader synergy with the whole Buster pool and helps farming, while Oberon is best working with higher tier Buster DPS servants, Musashi in particular since she can bypass the invul demerit. Regardless, I feel like with all the powerful servants dropping on JP lately, DW has something crazy cooking up - either for the end of Lostbelt or some Seraph/Ooku type event.
That said I’m saving for Vitch if only to complete my tamamo collection 🦊
Koyanskaya is the better support for CQ most of the time though? In CQ Oberon has to deal with the fact that he can't work with Merlin, the 20% NP drain on second skill, and the fact that his third skill basically turns the dps into a dead weight

Ultimately like ZTL said, just use whoever you enjoy most (and more importantly the servant that came to you), but one thing I am sure everyone can agree on, DW really brought Buster back in a HUGE way this month, between these two, Oberon and Vitch.
Just do NOT use Oberon and Merlin together, or maybe do if you like to live dangerously, hahaha.
But you will be able to pick and chose Waver its not the same for Oberon, its literally like "are you willing to spent hundreads of quartz in Oberon or Vitch" that's the type of choice one has to make
@@tribopower of course it depends a lot on luck. I've been living that YOLO gatcha life in FGO JP ever since I started late last year and so far it has worked out great for me. Sure, I didn't get everyone I wanted but I'd say my current batting average is around 60-70%. Got Melusine last month with everything I had (no Percy sadly), despite also getting an Altera spook that I thought would make Lolilot impossible to get. Then Vitch came quite easy so I ended up saving more than 300 SQ from the anniversary reward. The plan was to keep all of that for summer 6 but then I found out Oberon and Vitch can make even my NP1 Melusine into one of the hardest hitting neutral farmers in the game... with ANY CE. So then of course I burned all I had to get Oberon, 121 rolls later I had no Oberon and nothing for summer 6... yeah... it blew big time. But I didn't give up, scrapped together enough for one more multi and I got him, it was actually roll number 123, haha.
So even as a F2P player you can still get there... you just have to believe it... and also make a sacrifice to the gatcha gods, but we don't talk about that one..... shhhhh..... what? I didn't say anything...
People mostly compare Oberon and Vitch in their abilities to allow loops. Oberon works for more servants.
That being said, i still think she's better because of all the other stuff she brings for any battles that aren't regular farming.
Oberon also works outside of farming, you just have to work around the demerits... You can use him as a stall dps by abusing the sleep and charge spamming, as a plug in dps with some utility that can help a bit with survival or bringing stability to teams, or as someone who dumps buffs then self-taunts, tanks hits for a while, dies and brings another support in.
Not saying he is better than her, but he certainly works :p. Just be mindful of his quirks
See, Koyanskaya is good, but Oberon enables three turn farming with every AOE servant in the game. I think I know which one that I'm going to pick. I wanna three turn farm reliably with my Nero thank you very much.
EDIT: Look, I saw the argument down below, so this is just getting put in so that people understand how the system works.
First turn, you either use your FREE Habetrot with just any old ce equipped, or Arash with a fifty percent CE and a maxed third skill. Than you use your FREE SERVANTS to along with Oberon's 20% party charge skill to give the party charge, then use either Arash's charge skill or Habetrot's 80% skill and her insta-die one to make so that they can fire off their noble phantasm that turn, clearing the first wave. After that, they die, and your next servant with a 50% battery, probably Waver, come in.
Second turn. Next, you dump all of Waver's charge on the second dps servant who either A: You've only unlocked their second Append skill and it's at level one, giving you the necessary 10%, or B: they have a self charge skill that they can utilize that gives them at least 10%. After which, you swap out your Waver for the second Oberon, and have him use his 20 party charge skill to get them up to 100%, then fire off their noble phantasm
Third turn, have both Oberon's dump all of their skills on the dps, then fire off the third and last noble phantasm.
And there you have it, an almost completely F2P way to three turn farm virtually everything in the game.
So while you make a lot of VERY good points in your video that I agree with, Yes Vitch is a better DPS and general support really, Oberon does something completely unprecedented and also completely revolutionary. He enables three turn farming for everyone. First, with Skadi, you had to have Skadi, one of the compatible SR's, or SSR's, and a super scope, or a bunch of plugsuits. With Castoria, you need Castoria, a compatible servant, with Paracelsus being the only F2P one and he was bad at it, and that was it, which was even better. Vitch is like that too, you need Vitch, and one of the compatible servants, of which only one was available for free, Cas Cu. All of these systems were good, but all of them were only available to people with EX luck, or Whales.
Oberon, on the other hand, you just need Oberon, and a 50 percent charge, which you can get with your free waver that you either got from the free ticket from 2020 or the 6th anni, the point is, you need one servant and you can farm virtually everything in the game with Kiyohime. So, if I had to choose between the two, EVERY, SINGLE, TIME, I would rather have Oberon. Just because of the sheer level of Bullshit that he is capable of outputting.

See, while the Oberon system is good, it is probably the worst out of all of the loop systems.
Skadi will give you insane crit damage, meaning that your follow up damage after you np will be a lot higher
Castoria allows for much more consistent np looping, and also, she's castoria. She's the most busted servant in the game right now.
And koyanskaya, well, with double koyanskaya and Morgan you can farm everything in the game. The damage numbers are ridiculous.
So for whales, this system is really nothing more than a cool way for them to loop with a servant they especially like. Koyanskaya will still be the better pick for them, because she'll be an all around better support. But for a f2p or minnow like myself? Consistent three turn farming without going broke getting high np levels on an ssr? That's invaluable. So while koyanskaya is definitely the better support, I would still pick Oberon because of the sheer amount of farming that I need to do.
or just have imaginary element and any support with 50 np battery can do it.
Also, just want to add this. You could make a completely f2p team besides Oberon with Shakespeare, Arash or habetrot, and Spartacus. Just use Spartacus' third skill at max level, which it should be at, have his second append skill unlocked, and you don't even need waver or another 50% charger.
I think Oberon is a servant that lacks a coherent identity, which is appropriate I guess. The guaranteed AoE sleep on his NP that makes it so you don't wake up the enemy by accident that also removes offensive buffs just screams challenge quest for me, while the fact that he has the highest targeted charge in the game at 70% screams farming. The third skill is just confusing - with the obscene demerits attached to it you REALLY want to use it on the last turn of a given quest but the benefits of it are of debatable worth. It's basically Susberon going up to a buster DPS and saying "Hey. You wanna 100% literally 1-hit-kill Goetia?" The stupid amount of damage you do is really unnecessary for 3-turn farming (how many nodes do you know which end with an enemy that has 400k hp or more?) and also overkill for most bosses too (how many of those do you know with 400k HP in their last breakbar that don't appear in events with special damage CEs?).
Koyanchihuahua has a much more well defined role - she's a Offensive Buster Support that can put out some damage herself should the need arise. With her cooldown reduction I think she can even be good in challenge quests since she could even use this on another support like Castoria or more likely Merlin to get their part-wide defensive abilities online quicker. My personal preference would be with Evil Tammie rather than Mothman 2.0 as for 1) I already have the OG Mothman (QSH, at NP2 might I add), 2) There are no downsides inherent with using her while those do exist for Edgeberon and 3) I really wanna clap her cheeks for what she's been putting us through since arc 2 began, maybe also yeet her with Chen Gong a few times while I grind up her bond level - she might not have any damage bonuses but 50% NP is 50% NP. I do kinda want both of them but DW decided to give them to us back to back so it is unlikely I'll have enough Quartz left for the other backstabber.
actually you can use his obscene amount of damage in a secondary dps or even main dps if you have another dps. Through you can actually destroy boss break bar orsomething else to bring out from difficult part of that fight and then use your another dps or main dps to finish him and to do the other works. in short you can use his buffs on other or even dps to help to cross that damage mark in a difficult fight which obstructs you.

Look, Merlin is fine, he doesn't need a buff, Merlin is a better servant to bring as a buster support for Challenge Quests and boss fights in story. He still absolutely holds up even to this day, even with the HUGE boost Buster got this month.

And then there's Oberon, who I guess you can just use as a replacement for Waver to swap him in and do the UNGA BUNGA damage on turn 3. That's especially a RIDICULOUS setup you can try with a Melusine equipped with a black grail CE, as at that point she becomes one of the hardest hitting if not the hardest hitting neutral farmers in the game.
Fortunately I am one of the few lucky bastards that somehow managed to get Melusine (Fairy Knight Lancelot), Vitch AND Oberon in the last month, so I know this is IT as far as farming team comps go, as now I can run a full team with ANY CE on everyone.
But if we're talking strictly a Merlin buff, like someone else said, I'd just extend his 3rd skill's crit buff from 1 turn to 3 turns and maybe turn the 50% buster up into a 60% buster up, just to spice things up and give him something neither Vitch or Oberon have as far as buffs go. But also, again, I don't think Merlin actually needs a buff, as he already has something neither Vitch nor Oberon have, which is survivability, between his team-wide invincible and the heal from his NP (and all the other goodies that come with Garden of Avalon).
@@Ebosan87 I also don't think he needs a buff. He's still super busted. But given they did hint at him possibly getting a buff I'd think it'd be a way to give a unit 50% charge like all of the new aged big supports.

Tamamo is better for long lasting, Oberon works better for a one shot type of deal. I’d say Tamamo is overall better because she doesn’t have that horrible demerit.

A fun team I thought of is a buster dps(morgan in this case), oberon, arash, vitch and merlin with a plug suit command code to swap out oberon for merlin.

That has been proven with melusine and her omnifarm potential by running double koyanskaya and oberon.
One thing that people forget is that 2 Merlins can go with 1 Vitch... but 1 Oberon can't go with 2 Merlins...

In cqs Oberon is in a werid place he can buy aloooot of time while doing respectable dmg i would say hes pretty busted and better then vitch since he has a aoe 20% battery on a 5 turn cd and the 3 turn taunt on his 3rd skill can buy you alot of time and do some pretty cool setups, and his np is basically a one turn break , but all that is kinda shot in the kneecaps since you cant really run him with merlin and you really want merlins hard defense and sustain for long fights .

From what I searched there is no real faster way to do it... Just gotta always have the servant you wanna bond with in your party and forget about it so that it doesn't feel that long.
Merlin-> God-tier boss battle support. Has meh farming.
Oberon-> God-tier farming support. Has meh boss battle support.
Koyanskaya-> Does both exceptionally well, and is the higher value servant in any individual comparison.
That being said, double Oberon's niche is that append skills allow him to enable 6 CE farming if used alongside Habertrot. Even then, it requires Koyanskaya unless the DPS has a 50% battery skill, and you sacrifice damage for it. In which case, double Koyanskaya is better. So Oberon's farming has the highest potential gains, but Koyanskaya will remain consistent.

The problem with konyaskaya farming imo is that you need to concentrate to use her, if you use the first skill wrongly then the loop ends. Whereas double Oberon is just Oberon attack, Oberon 2 attack, final attacker with black grail attack.

Tbh I would use oberon as a third wave buffer to any card type. At that point, 130% np damage it's useful to anyone lmao.

The simple answer is no, he is not even close those servants in terms of farming capabilities.
But.. you have to know that Merlin offer a different type of support compare to those servants in the video.
Merlin is a very different type of support, just be warned that Oberon does not mesh well with Merlin due to one of Oberon's passive skills, straight up making it so Merlin's buffs might not work.
Oberon is better without competition.
He could be the only gold servant that you ever summon and you're able to 3turn with any aoe you want.

@@doubleoz1 90% of the content is farming though and 3t is the most efficent way to deal with them and Oberon is not limited to specific servants and CE's like castoria, skadi and koyanskaya.
Koyanskaya has 0 sustain for her or her team while Oberon at least has a stun/ sleep on his np and can choose who's going to die on a ST np if you need to protect a specific servant.
Oberon is probably better and you can't convince me otherwise.

BOTH Koyan and Oberon are very good servants so I think there should NOT be ANY comparisons here. Besides that Oberon should be compared to Waver, not to Koyan or Merlin. He is an NP charge bot and doesnt provide the massive buffs that are needed to clear the waves (60% NP damage buff is pretty good though but.... yeah thats not nearly enough tbh).
Koyan is the support for 3T teams while Oberon is the servant that you plugsuit in T3 to clear the last big wave. DO NOT be deceived by xNaya's super whale 6 event CEs Double Oberon shenaningans IT WONT WORK less you are very high level and dont care about the team cost. Also you must be willing to use Plugsuit just to 3T with him and... Yeah Plugsuit bad go figure tbh. Double Koya also relies on a specific MC but I think it will provide more overall damage AND offers a better playstyle than your classic braindead plugsuit waver comps. Double Oberon is an extremely feast or famine comp imho if you are strong enough to clear the waves with just a 30% NP damage buff then sure, why not? But otherwise Double Koya should ALWAYS be better most of them tims imho.

I don't care who is the best because I have Tamamo Vitch, Arjuna Alter lv.100, Oberon NP2, Morgan, Fairy Tristan NP5 and Fairy Gawain NP5. But it must be said that Oberon is a moooooooore neutral support than Koyanskaya. The 130% NP boost and 80% charge are good for everyone. If you don't care about Buster (only), I think Oberon is the best choice.

Nope. The Habetrot setup is EXTREMELY expensive and simply doesnt work vs Assassins. Besides all of that I think you will need to use plugsuit + waver... And thats a bit too much if I wanted to plugsuit then i would just use Castoria instead

Small thing but i just hate it when people keep saying busterloop. That like in of itself is an oxymoron. This is buster loop in the same way that having waivers lets you "buster loop" its looping on charge skills alone not using any refund.
It's still looping, launching 3 NPs in a row. By your metric, anyone who doesn't refund 100% on NP alone is not looping because they use chatge skills. Skadi looping isn't a thing amirite?

@@homulity5293 The point is that the comp is NP looping in some form. This is something Arts can do naturally, and Quick can do to some extent, but was out of reach for Buster due to limitations in supports and the Buster Card’s inherent lack of NP Gain.
And if you truly want to point out the difference between art and quick looping, it is obviously the over reliance of many Quick servants on crits to make up for the lower NP Gain (compared to Arts).
