- We're happy to share this live performance of "Black Water" from our friends Tom Johnston, Patrick Simmons, and John McFee of The Doobie Brothers, who joined the PFC Band along with Lee Oskar and Ellis Hall to perform a few of their hits during our recent WE ARE ONE Benefit concert in Los Angeles. Let the music play and sing along, "old black water, keep on rollin'..."

Playing For Change (PFC) is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. The primary focus of PFC is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos called Songs Around The World. Creating these videos motivated PFC to form the Playing For Change Band-a tangible, traveling representation of its mission, featuring musicians met along their journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation-a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to building music and art schools for children around the world. Through these efforts, Playing For Change aims to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet.

When I first met the magical woman who would become my 4th wife, she wrote me a note; "I hear you are a musician. Can you play Black Water by the Doobies?" When I said yes, that is one of my favorites, we began our 16 year enchanted journey. It was great to hear and see these guys sing and pay with the PFC band. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you.
Just luscious beautiful vibe raising beats, love and inspiration here! I grew up to the Doobie brothers~ they raised my frequency as a child~ and to see them now playing for change!!!! Wow!!! Yasss!! We are Truly All One! Excellent event! Thank you!! Nostalgia and love!! 🙏🏽✨🖖🏽🙌🏽🔥🔊♥️🙌🏽🌍🌎✌🏽✨🔊

Great performance! Just don't get all the thumbs down.
I must say I find this quite disappointing the PFC Band is full of amazing musicians from around the world who ad freshness and vitality when reworking old songs. They might as well not be on the stage if there is no collaboration .
