Wow , now thats a chunk of a fish for the canal. You did well getting her on the bank with such light tackle. I'm amazed she took such a small lure . Commendable fishing 🎣 👌
Congratulations and thank you for sharing that magical moment with us. I guess that that Pike did not read the rule book, like big bait catches big Pike ect, even though your net was small the Pike ended up swimming into it & gave you a helping hand. I was wondering if you could possibly do a how to video of hao to correctly load Braid onto a baitcaster reel please as i have seen loads of different video's which confuse me i.e should you soak the braid for an hour first & should you have the Braid under heavy pressure while spooling it onto the reel? It would be great if you could show us how to do this please. Thanks in advance & best wishes.
Hi 👋, thank you! Ive literally just swopped my braid over, next time I change it I’ll record it. I don’t wet the braid but I do put it on the reel under as much tension as I can. The Shimano Aldebaran spools have holes in so tying it on is pretty straightforward.
@@reellures2770 Thank you for your reply. That's a shame, well maybe my timing is 😂 do you need to change Braid as often as you do with monofilament? Keeping the Braid under high tension does make sense thanks. As soon as I posted my question I remembered that I forgot to ask about the knot so thanks for that 👍
@reellures2770 I've used this rod about 7 years ago, but I broke the tip with a car door lol. Now I'm using a couple of different rods. Tenryu Rayz Spectra, Tenryu Rayz Jerkin, Shimano Trout One NS, and Try Angle Isuzu Towser. All my rids are rated up to 8 grm, and all are moderate fast, because I don't like xfast stuff. I've got also Palms Egeria Native rod, 0.8 - 3.5 grm, but it's glass rod, for my tiny stream trout fishing. Enjoy your Teton buddy. It's really nice rod made in Hong Kong, but all the components are from Japan. Realy good rod for the money.
@gnfishingbfs thanks, a few for me to have a look at there. I’ve got a Tsurinoya Dexterity which is an 8gm casting weight, I do like the lighter rod though.
Hi Martin, thanks for the feedback. It might be worth checking out the broader BFS community in terms of fishing style. I would add that I wasn’t targeting Pike specifically, I’m assuming at some point you’ve been perch fishing and a Pike might have taken your lure? I couldn’t agree more in terms of targeting big fish, my most recent video might be worth a watch 🙂

Hi, thank you. Yeh, just sitting against that far wall picking off anything that swam by.
Great fishing and great channel! I’ll subscribe for sure
Thank you 🙂
Much respect for how you handled the fish! Beautiful fish, congrats bro!
Thank you!
Wow! Just WOW!! 🙌
Thank you, right place right time!
Recently subscribed and love your videos. Your fish care is amazing. ❤
Hi, thank you !!
Wow, that was a chunk and on light gear, well done 👏👏👏👏. Tight lines
Hi, thank you.
Beautiful fish on ultra light! Great job!!
Thank you!
Not your everyday pike on the canal! Well done sir. Great catch on bfs gear for sure 😂
Hi, thank you 👍
Awesome m8 I got the same rod good to see it can handle that size fish 👍🎣
Yes it did very well, it was under quite a bit of pressure for a good 15-20 minutes.
Just came across your video. Excellent catch mate👍👌 My pb is 18lb 👍 + new subscriber
Hi, thank you. That one took me by surprise 🙂
@reellures2770 ace mate. Iam out my self tomorrow on local canel dead baiting. 👍
Good luck, I’ve not had chance to be out for ages. I may get out tomorrow for a couple of hours.
@@reellures2770 brilliant mate good luck 🤞

I change braid once a season on the BFS, unless it’s obviously worn. I’ve got 2 spools for the Aldebaran reel so it lasts a bit longer.
Thank you for that @@reellures2770
Top angling sir 👏
Thank you!
Well played buddy
Thank you
Had similar situation on major craft fine tail 0.5-5gr rods these days are amazing
I’ve had my eye on the major craft, it might well be my next fishing purchase 😬
I can recommend finetail casting not cheap but beautiful rod and lots of fun
I need to offload some other gear, if I do that I can justify it, kind of…
Only been doing three years have thirteen set up trouble is nobody want give you owt for um might as well keep than give stuff away lol
Yeh, I’ve only got so much room though 😁, at least the BFS gear takes up less space. My sea fishing gear, need another house for that!!
i know that the white house i think is there a big basin about half a mile further up?
Hi, yes that’s right, can be a good spot for Perch.
@@reellures2770 i usually fish up to the aqueduct only been there once
I need to try that again, I’ve not been up there for ages.
@@reellures2770 not till i clean it out in the morning i hope
Quick question.where do you get your bfs lures from?
Hi, it varies, AGM Lures for the ultra light stuff usually. Monkey Lures wherever I can find them, the LureBox is a pretty good shout.
How long did it take to reel in?
Hi, it took around 15 minutes to land it.
Great job mate. Proper christening for your kebab handle Teton 💪💪💪
😂 yep. It’s paid for itself now!
@@reellures2770 is it 1 - 4 grm version, or heavier one?
Yeh it’s the 1-4gm UL. Pretty impressed with it, what are you using at the moment?

I think this is disgraceful, targeting pikes with 6 pound breaking strain and a piddly net. That fish was completely knackered. Use proper gear
