  • The House of Creed have an awesome line up of fragrance's but all I seem to hear about is Aventus and Green Irish Tweed....and while both are amazing perfumes, lets explore deeper across their library of fragrances.
    If you're a fan of Green Irish Tweed; then Josh (The Aromatic Kid) would like you to consider:
    ORIGINAL VETIVER
    And if you're an Aventus fan, then I'm going to put forward for you to test:
    ORIGINAL SANTAL
    I'm in love with perfume and beautiful smells. I deeply love niche perfumes and find that they are unique and incredibly diverse. I am Marcelo and I'm the Niche Fragrance Collector.

    Dude, let Josh speak :) I do love your reviews, it was nice having the 2 of you review these two in that cross referenced way, I was after Original Santa, but now I'm tempted to get both. I'll let you know what I think of either or both.
    I like the way you both contrasted GIT with OV.

      Funny, that Original Santal doesn't hit the mark for you....I LOVE wearing this one. I joke in this video that it's Brad Pitt's character in "Once upon a time" but it's true, this is my confidence booster (understated but powerful); it changes my mood.
      And yes Original Vetiver is that perfect spring fragrance....fresh, clean, masculine

    I have just acquired Green Vevitar a few weeks back. I use it the same day I have good wet shave, with Proraso Green pre shave, soap, balm and splash. I follow that up with a generous 6-8 sprays of Original Vetivar. For me it’s gone by lunch but by that time I been in about 10 cars, been outside in the heat, drank a espresso or 2. I Imagine If was in a home office or air conditioned office the fragrance may last longer. But I am extremely happy with all my Creed’s except Silver Mountain Water and it performance. 20-30 minutes inside emery home before I have even left and it’s gone. Bad batch ? supplier not stored it properly ? but I’ve heard similar form some at each corner of the globe. I believe that much of an issue should be attended too.

      Hey Joey, great to hear from you and I love your ritual😇 I'm also glad that you shared your activity movements and yes, all my reviews are based on me moving around way less than you. My work is office based in an air conditioned or heated venue so the longevity and sillage in my space isn't going to compare to your activity.
      But having said that it seems you get good milage from your Original Vetiver considering that it's not really designed as a 'beast mode' type of perfume.
      I haven't crossed over to Silver Mountain yet, not in my collection but I hear you regarding the longevity on this one. I'll ask Michael from Libertine as he is the fountain of all knowledge; he'll have an answer on this
      Great to hear from you Joey👊🏼

    These are two great daily driver scents - easy reaches, comforting and yet they have enough intrigue to be signatures. I have this inverse relationship with Creed where I appreciate the craft of the obvious choices like Aventus and SMW. For instance, I think that Royal Oud is entirely overrated and rather dull - it’s a linear and thin chalky wood fragrance. I have the revered Spice and Wood and it’s really a one dimensional prototype for the modern classic Viking! Sometimes I just accept what smells good without trying to niche-fy myself 😂

  • @TrulyMade
    @TrulyMade Рік тому +2

    There’s a reason why the original vetiver keeps getting sold out. I had a sample of the original vetiver and I was shocked, to me it smells better than the Royal oud.
    The green Irish tweed smells like the Irish spring soap lol
    But the real banger just might be spice and wood. Good luck finding that one.

    • @TheNicheFragranceCollector
      @TheNicheFragranceCollector  Рік тому +1

      I agree @PK Thunder whoa! Original Vetiver is a classic and as you mentioned there's a reason why it continues to sell well...perfect, clean, gentleman's fragrance
      I do love Green Irish Tweed and I definitely have a radar for this scent...I can pick it up instantly when others are wearing it (I impressed a waiter at a restaurant that I went to recently, as I complimented him on his fragrance and then asked "is it Green Irish Tweed?" he was flabbergasted that I knew the fragrance😂)

    I smelled Original Santal years ago and it reminded me of a freshly made Cinnabon, recently I smelled it and the scent was completely different it smelled like Joop homme a synthetic syrupy mess. Was it reformulated?

      @TheNicheFragranceCollector  Рік тому

      Great to hear from you @ayeo philly, awesome question. I do know that fragrances are reformulated from time to time to comply with the IFRA regulations. But your question is did Creed "mess with the magic"....that I don't know??
      Since I only got into niche perfumery since 2017, I only know what is currently out there, so can't compare to anything earlier than that.
      Thanks for sharing...maybe there's someone that can shed light on this for you.

    6-7 hrs with 2 sprays of Original Vetiver? Come on guys. That's a stretch. I have numerous Creeds. The only ones that last appreciably are GIT and Royal Oud.

    • @TheNicheFragranceCollector
      @TheNicheFragranceCollector  2 роки тому +1

      Awesome to hear from you @Saad Mohyuddin and since reading your comment last night, I couldn't wait to get back into the office where I had left the Original Vetiver. In the lead up to filming both Josh and I tested and we record what we're experiencing and independently we both wrote down 6-7 hrs....which off the cuff seemed right to me and the way that I experience this fragrance
      But today, I'm going to get scientific and I'm testing again😎. Only one spray this time on the wrist and see how we travel....got in early this morning (7am and sprayed then)....it's 10.30am now and I'm still picking up the fragrance. Will write in again after 1pm and report back
      And yes, Royal Oud and GIT are powerhouses....big love for both of them.
      Thanks Saad, great to hear from you buddy

      Ok reporting in😎
      So my bottle performed like I thought it would. With one spray on the wrist, it took me comfortably to midday (I sprayed at 7am). It was around 11am that I wasn't picking it up as I moved around, but yes, when I lifted my arm to smell.
      If I'm wearing the fragrance on a normal day, I always spray 3 times (sternum, stomach and one on the wrist) and find that I get a comfortable 6-7 hours out of it.
      Thanks again @Saad Mohyuddin, appreciate you commenting👊🏼

    I think I'm losing my mind's nose. Help me out here Marcelo. I have a bottle of Creed Original Vetiver. Here is what I get from OV:
    Soap. SOAP. SOAP! SOAP, SOAP, AND SOAP!! Soap soap here. Soap soap there. Everywhere a soap soap. Soap is the 500 lbs. gorilla in the room with this fragrance. Did I say its soapy? It's the most squeaky clean fresh out-of-the-shower smell of any frag other than Mugler Cologne I've ever smelled. Do you two get soap with this? I think your "sparkling, fresh and bright" equates to what I'm smelling as soap.
    Also, to briefly change the subject, I'm test wearing Frederic Malle Geranium Pour Monsieur and I don't get the appeal in it that everyone else seems to in the reviews. Do you have any experience with Geranium Pour Monsieur? I like mint-dominant and deeply mentholated scents. I have Drakkar Noir and Sox of its near-clones, Diptyque Eau de Minthe, and even Creed Viking. And all of them are better that Frederic Malle Geranium Pour Monsieur. What am I missing with Geranium Pour Monsieur?

    • @TheNicheFragranceCollector
      @TheNicheFragranceCollector  2 роки тому +1

      😂 James, let me get this straight; you get soap on the opening.....did I understand correctly??
      As a kid my father would make soap from scratch. Some batches would be with olive oil and some batches with pig lard. Let me tell you, Original Vetiver does not smell of 'soap' (especially when he was brewing a pig lard batch🤢). I've always had a super sensitive nose and the days he was brewing the pig lard (in the shed outside), I had to leave the house altogether, the smell was disgusting.
      What I'm picking up in the opening of Original Vetiver is the vibrant Lemon (which I guess can be translated to the essence used in soap).....but the ginger also pops for me. As mentioned, when I first tested this fragrance, I was convinced it had lemongrass. For me, I love that vibrant opening, it's happy and over the top, but it works to keep it in the dry down.
      I haven't had a chance to test Geranium Pour Monsieur, but will make it a priority to test out and see what this does for me....will report back Captain👨🏼‍✈️
      Great to hear from you mate👊🏼

      Makes no sense to me and many other people. I've used soap almost every day of my long life and OV is dominant soap. Lol. But to each their own. But I say the same thing to flat earthers.
