I hated Viking the first time I tried it. Thought it was overly dusty and dry. Fast forward a year and a revamped palate later, I have no idea what I was smelling. I own Aventus, VIW, Original Vetiver, Royal Oud, Millesime Imperial, and Viking Cologne. I want to like GIT and Viking but they're too similar to Cool Water and Old Spice for me. Millesime Imperial is sort of between Erolfa and SMW so I feel like either of those would be redundant (though I do like them). Overall I expect to get 4-5 hours from Creeds, they're not workday fragrances. Creed uses a signature ambergris accord and a "house accord" I've seen described as smoked blackberry that gives everything a sparkly freshness. I think it's the best brand for freshies in terms of actual smells, the imitators all fall short.
My favorite Creed is Bois Du Portugal. This is hardly my most used fragrance but I appreciate it to the greatest degree out of the Creeds that I own and have experienced.
I agree 💯! Secondly, this is my first time viewing your videos, and after 10 minutes of watching, I felt a calming effect happening, like very peaceful 😂 Great stuff!
I was hooked up by a NM REP with a bottle of Aventus at its initial release. And when I’d wear it out, I kid you not women were calling each other over to give me a sniff. I also kid you not when I say that just because a woman gets up close for a sniff of your neck does NOT mean you are taking her home. Just enjoy and appreciate the attention. Truth is, I don’t wear it any more. I already hit the jackpot when it was a novelty. That said, I really like your list. I live in Florida, so for me it’s… 1) Green Irish Tweed - This one has literally changed a mind or two for me. 2) Silver Mountain Water - I caused a ruckus with this one at the university I attended. 3) Original Santal (big on the compliments from young and old…er alike lol) 4) Virgin Island Water (I’m in Florida. Duh.) 5) Millésime Impérial (It just works for one and all.) At end, allow me to lament the vaulting of Royal English Leather, Acier Aluminium and Baie de Genièvre. I miss them all, especially REL. Man, I felt like a Duke wearing that concoction. Keep the vids coming. They are 5-Star.
Great content, Justin. My top 5 1. Silver Mountain Water 2. Green Irish Tweed 3. Erolfa 4. Millesime Imperiale 5. Aventus (2013) I have smelt Royal Oud and it’s just too ‘earthy’ for me. Viking i don’;t like but my Dad loves it. Also, a shoutout for Himalaya, which would have been number 6.
Great video, I am glad it was the algorithm recommended for me. I would have swapped my favorite spice and wood for one of your top three that wasn’t Royal Oud.
When I first bought a bottle of Aventus back in 2011, I remember it was a monster, as well as a fantastic fragrance. Now it doesn’t even compare. The other offerings that I’ve bought did exactly what they were supposed to do and continue to do so. Like original vetiver, fresh light clean. Silver mountain water the same. Royal water will hit hard if you do more than 4 or 5. That used to be my Friday scent. I have since left the Aventus train and I’ve remained on the other offerings.
DecantX is legit. Bought a 10ml decant of Love in White for my lady and it had leaked in transit. I asked for 3 ml’s which I’d estimated had leaked but they went ahead and sent me a new 10ml decant. They tape their decants so leakage is extremely rare but I guess that it’s inevitable at some point cause I purchase once a month at least.
Great video Justin! I'm super late to the party on Original Vetiver. Knew about it for years but never tried it until last weekend. Sprayed it on skin at Bloomingdales one day and wore it around the rest of the day and found it so amazing that I ordered a bottle a few days ago.
Original Santal is the first full-bottle from the Creed house that I've purchased; I absolutely love it, and, no joke, every time I go to the cabinet to pick a fragrance for the day, I have to fight myself to choose something else XD Also, I love Silver Mountain Water, but, sadly, find it fades a bit too quickly for my taste, and the price tag. Gorgeous scent, though. Honestly, as far as tea scents go, I think Ormande Jayne's Montabaco Intensivo may be a better option to try from that DNA; it's not really more affordable, and lacks that metallic twinge (if that's important to you), but I found the performance to be much better than SMW, and maybe more interesting? I have to yet to give Royal Oud a full-trial wearing, and after watching this, I'm definitely closer to making that happen. Thank you for another fantastic video, Justin!
I dont have any 10 out 10 colognes. But Viking us a 9.5 for me right now. Such a great fragrance. Original vetiver, Orginal Santal, Silver mountian water, green irish tweed, are all bangers. Royal oud i own now as well. But im having a hard time with it. Like a 7 for me. But i do like that it has a completely different smell than anthing else i own (mostly creed and tom fords).....i have about 10 more creed samples coming. Out of the 10 or so houses ive tried, Creed just resinates with me on a much deeper level. Thanks for the content.
ordered ten samples. Just did it through another outfit that offers 1ml. My sample orders are 30-40 products so I'm spending $300+ already. Thanks for the video. I picked up Original Vetiver a few days ago. Love it, but wish it was longer than 4 hours.
Aventus colonge is a top 5 fragrance for life for me. And erolfa is a top 10 summer for me. Surprised to see those left out but original santal in there.
Awesome review @stayfreshproductions. This was very helpful. If you had to stack rank your top three unique fresh and/or clean Creed scents out of this list that are must buy, what would they be? Thanks for your feedback.
Hey Justin! I've tried Green Irish Tweed the other day and it blew me away.. As you know it's very expensive, so is Cool Water EDT a good alternative/clone?
Your number 14 is my number 1 for me and my 18 year old son, to the extent that I bought him one to keep him away from my bottle. Millesime imperial is the signature perfume for the late Emir of Kuwait.
If you like the house style, char you will more or less like pretty much everything from them. I do enjoy most of them. Original Vitiver is a remarkable, pleasant, easy to wear scent. but a bit difficult to pay full price for this one. Aventus has more presents to it, so it's easier to pay this price. Today I'm wearing Himalaya.
Honestly I get what he’s saying. I have the same experience with Himalaya. At some point it starts to smell a little weird and a bit, just a bit, nauseating. These aren’t the only two fragrances that this can happen with either so this phenomenon is not exclusive to Creed. If I hope that a fragrance will project but I’m worried that it can be a bit much I’ll usually just spray most of it on my pants or lower limbs if I’m in shorts.
Great list bro! I was hoping you would have Erolfa on this, but you had Miliesime imperial and both of those scents smell fairly close to each other. I need to get my nose on that Royal Oud, I hear too many good things about it. I might just blind buy it for the fall lol. My fav creed as of now is Greed Irish Tweed, but it changes lol.
The same happened with my bottle of anniversary aventus, it's really strong now and smells amazing. Royal water, original vetiver and Viking cologne are some of my most worn aftershaves this time of year. I'll never understand the hype from Silver mountain water and royal oud, I've tried them several times and they absolutely stink 😅
I love Creed. Just wished it lasted longer. I’m selling or have sold most! The ones I am keeping are Green Irish Tweed, Bois Du Portugal, Aventus Cologne and Jardin D’Amalfi.
I have 3 bottles of millesime imperial from 2007(comes with black sprayer) and I can tell you this staff is crazy good and powerful I could smell it for 2 days on my skin it's very expensive now, I have seen it online with $947 but luckily I have 2 sealed bottles and one am using . The new patches with the golden bottle is not really as 50% good.
Justin, i fell down the rabbithole of looking for vintage/vaulted Creed…found a few amazing scents….Royal Scottish Lavender, Santal Imperial, and my favorite Cypres Musc! Let me know if i can end you a sample or 2! 👍
I have 8 Creed. New/recent batches. Never had a problem with performance on any of them. 🤷♂️ All I hear about SMW, is how weak it is. I wore it the other day, & could still smell it later that night. GIT, BDP, Royal Oud, are freaking amazing!!! Aventus is King!! Original Vetiver is so good, & Original Santal is not your normal Creed, but is a definite must have. Viking has to be 1 of the best barbershop scents in the game. I seem to get that shaving cream scent with it. Gotta get Spice & Wood, Milliseme added to the collection.
People think Niche brands are conspiring to keep prices up while decreasing performance. But the truth might just be that market research shows that no one needs performance that lasts over 8 hours which is a full day. If let's say only 5% of your customers want or care about 12 hour performance why as a company would you make a product for such a small number of people and drive your costs up.
I don’t mess with creed too much controversy. Although I do enjoy many profiles they’ve created. I have many Indy style inspired versions. One day I’ll have to get a sample set. But for now doesn’t really interest me 🤷♂️ . Great video I enjoyed 👍
How are the new batches of Royal Oud? I have a sample of an older batch and I felt in love with it. I want to order a new one and wonder if the new ones are also so good.
I swear you brain is connected to mine, a few weeks ago I was looking to see if I wanted a xerjoff fragrance and two days later you put up your video. The other day I was looking into creed and what is recommended? This one.
Sad about your vintage Aventus going flat. Something to keep in mind for anyone out there like me who stresses over using their discontinued/vintage blends. I find myself trying to save the juice because I'll never find it again. I've bought more recent batches and used them BEFORE the OG juice that I enjoy more. This isn't the way we should be thinking. We should use that old juice. Life is short, and you bought it for a reason. Use it up... enjoy it! It won't last forever!
The only Creed fragrances I've smelled are Aventus, Green Irish Tweed, Silver Mountain Water, Bois du Portugal, Himalaya, Original Santal and Virgin Island Water. I really liked Original Santal and only liked Aventus. I currently own some 90ml of Aventus in two bottles. I'm not going to buy another Creed due to shameless price tag.
I wish my Creed scents performed for longer because they do smell great. I work primarily in the conifer dominated forests and i really like the way Green Irish Tweed reflects that in my opinion but it just doesn't last very long. Or perhaps I'm just too used to the smell of it. I don't know.
Glad it's not just me - I waited in vain for a reference to, ranking of Virgin Island Water - and waited - and then - nothing! Thanks to Mardoggyo for his acknowledgement of Creed's Virgin Island Water as "a masterpiece " but, Justin, are you able to share with us your reason for not mentioning Virgin Island Water in the top 14? I'd be intrigued to know. In the meantime, huge thanks and respect Justin for your many and various podcasts down the years, "everyone's a winner, baby!"
@@stayfreshproductions Brilliant; an incredibly prompt, (particularly considering the time-zone differences!) totally clarificatory and eminently logical explanation. Thanks very much and please keep your incisive and excellent reviews coming.
Originally it's 'Royal', 'Virgin Island' and 'Silver Mountain', but after reformulations (i.e. watering down) they added 'Water' to their names in order to adapt them to their new performance. 🤷 (Not true of course. 😉)
Creed is my favorite niche house overall. My favorite is Silver Mountain water. My wife calls it sex in a bottle. Her favorite fragrance ever. And out of almost 200 fragrances, I have decants of or full bottles. This's the only one she says I need. My second would be a tie between Erolfa and Mellisime Imprerial (both don't last more than 1-2 hours on me). Aventus isn't one of my favorites. But the Aventus DNA is my most complimented. Whether the original or a clone. So if feel like getting attention, I wear that DNA.
The newer batches of Royal Oud are honestly different to me. The new batches smell sweeter and not as woody and peppery. Not as heavy either more light, and im not a fan of
I splurged on Aventus back in 2017 and was surprised by the cheap plastic cap that rattled around when clicked in place. $375 and cheap presentation= unacceptable. GIT wasnt as bad but dang, Creed.
I've worn Spice & Wood a few times now and so far it's the letdown of the Creeds. Not the worst but a letdown due to the pricetag and reputation. Don't get that many Spices nor Woods, pretty transparent, feels a little like Royal Water with added Apple and some Birch. Yes, it's a recent batch

Thank you!
Great content, Justin. My top 5
1. Silver Mountain Water
2. Green Irish Tweed
3. Erolfa
4. Millesime Imperiale
5. Aventus (2013)
I have smelt Royal Oud and it’s just too ‘earthy’ for me. Viking i don’;t like but my Dad loves it. Also, a shoutout for Himalaya, which would have been number 6.
Nice!
Very well spoken reviewer. Been very helpful on my journey!
Thank you!
These videos are so helpful. I was so happy that Viking made the list love that sent, but doesn’t always get talked about
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’ve been binge watching your videos the past two weeks. Time to subscribe 😅.
Thank you!
Viking and Silver mountain is amazing❤ Don't forget Pure White, but if you don't have it, i highly recommend it you won't be disappointed in any way.
Already knew Royal Oud was #1. Same for me. The others are ranked differently by me but i own most of the ones in this list.
My favorite Creed is hands down Bois du Portugal. You should try it out.
Thanks for watching! I really enjoy Montabaco Intensivo.
EROLFA is a 💎and not really talked about. So that means it’s worn even less. And that’s fine by me! 🙌
Awesome review @stayfreshproductions. This was very helpful. If you had to stack rank your top three unique fresh and/or clean Creed scents out of this list that are must buy, what would they be? Thanks for your feedback.
Thank you! I’ll look into that!
Great work, Justin!
Our top three remain the same!
GIT as my #4. ☺️👍
Thanks William!
Hey Justin!
I've tried Green Irish Tweed the other day and it blew me away.. As you know it's very expensive, so is Cool Water EDT a good alternative/clone?
My advice is that if GIT blew you away, then it’s worth saving for! Cool Water does not measure up, imo.
I'll save up then, thanks bro!
The one and only (...I have 😄): green irish tweed. Yeah, I should wear it tomorrow again😉
6:28 how many sprays would you recommend for silver mountain water? I don’t want to be smelling weird 😂
6-10 sprays
@@mmz1664 I sense sarcasm
@@TxmmyBeats nah to be honest i use 6-10 sprays on summer fragrances becuse they tend to not last so long and i just gaine compliments from it
I do 4-6
Honestly I get what he’s saying.
I love Viking Cologne, love how it's not that similar to the original. One of the best Creeds IMHO.
JC,
With your love of fougère’s, I implore you to try BOIS DU PORTUGAL!
BDP is really the gentlemen scent
Great list bro! I was hoping you would have Erolfa on this, but you had Miliesime imperial and both of those scents smell fairly close to each other. I need to get my nose on that Royal Oud, I hear too many good things about it. I might just blind buy it for the fall lol. My fav creed as of now is Greed Irish Tweed, but it changes lol.
Just ended up just blind buying Royal Oud lol.
I’m glad you found some good ones! Those vintage ones are special.
Great review . i would add spice and wood somewhere in the last three spots
Silver mountain water & virgin island water are my favorites out of the 7 bottles I own
I have 8 Creed.
Awesome!
Some poignant thoughts!
very nicely explained Royal Oud! that´s what i needed!
I don’t mess with creed too much controversy. Although I do enjoy many profiles they’ve created. I have many Indy style inspired versions. One day I’ll have to get a sample set. But for now doesn’t really interest me 🤷♂️ . Great video I enjoyed 👍
I would love to see you, do a video on Penhaligon’s , they have some of the best fragrances in the world
How are the new batches of Royal Oud? I have a sample of an older batch and I felt in love with it. I want to order a new one and wonder if the new ones are also so good.
Not sure about newer batches, but I’m sure they’re great
Spice and Wood is my most worn and favorite Creed fragrance.
That's it. ✌🏾
I swear you brain is connected to mine, a few weeks ago I was looking to see if I wanted a xerjoff fragrance and two days later you put up your video. The other day I was looking into creed and what is recommended? This one.
Would be interesting to see creed make a warm ambery and sweeter scent, all of their offerings so far are freshies
Yes! Use it while you can!
I tried aventus and performance was so bad I didnt get it. But the cologne is phenomenal for summer and girls love it.
My fave is Bois du Portugal.
Fresh yet woody and my wife REALLY likes it if you get my meaning.
I wish my Creed scents performed for longer because they do smell great. I work primarily in the conifer dominated forests and i really like the way Green Irish Tweed reflects that in my opinion but it just doesn't last very long. Or perhaps I'm just too used to the smell of it. I don't know.
My 2yr old bottle of SMW is my favorite. Great performance
My favourite Creed will probably always be Spice and Wood. Crazy price, but to me a 10/10!
I would do a light spray of Aventus and then layer it with Santal. Great new scent.
These videos are great.
I also like your lamp.
Thank you!
I’ve just watched $7000 dollars (AUD) of Creed
That’s 14 x 500 per bottle here
I’ll stick with soap for a bit longer 😂
Have you tried Bois Du Portugal or Virgin Island Water???
Yes. I like the opening to VIW but I don’t love the dry down. BDP is great, just don’t have it.
Man, might be my bad memory, but I remember you had and really liked Aventus Cologne.
Am I tripping or did you move it out of your collection?
I’ve never owned it. But I do really enjoy it
Royal oud is fire got my first bottle !!
I Bought Two!
Two reasons it’s not here!
1. I don’t own it
2. I don’t love the dry down. Opening is great though
@@stayfreshproductions Brilliant; an incredibly prompt, (particularly considering the time-zone differences!) totally clarificatory and eminently logical explanation. Thanks very much and please keep your incisive and excellent reviews coming.
I’m a woman, though i love men’s perfume. I love adventus but from your vid it’s rank is top 13. :(
Though it got me more curious now😅
If you keep watching, you’ll see that it returns at a higher rank!
Interesting, I was surprised not to see Bois Du Portugal or Erolfa
2 mists of Green Irish Tweed and then one of Royal Oud. I iike mixing them. tks
Originally it's 'Royal', 'Virgin Island' and 'Silver Mountain', but after reformulations (i.e. watering down) they added 'Water' to their names in order to adapt them to their new performance. 🤷
(Not true of course.
Not as heavy either more light, and im not a fan of
Newer batches of Aventus with the metal cap actually last
I splurged on Aventus back in 2017 and was surprised by the cheap plastic cap that rattled around when clicked in place. $375 and cheap presentation= unacceptable. GIT wasnt as bad but dang, Creed.
creed viking layered on top of creed royal oud is top tier. royal oud is my favorite creed of all time followed by erolfa
I do like it from my past sniffing. Been wanting to revisit it.
I want to love silver mountain water but that ozonic/chlorine(ish) overtone kills it for me..I use my decant as a room freshner
I was afraid to continue watching this video , thought I’d get hit with a stray just for watching !!! Bro woke up and chose violence by kicking off the bottom of the list with Aventus, MI & SMW 😂😂
