    I discovered that you must push and hold the Bluetooth button until it sounds, "power on" or "power off". Then , the right side volume(the up/dn volume buttons with the bluetooth botton) will control Bluetooth volume. The LEFT side volume controls the hearing enhancement volume. these are important discoveries. Hope this helps. Larry

    Good overview, well explained. The one thing I still don't know though is how to turn it off and on. Turning the "system" off doesn't turn the bluetooth off and it consequently drains the battery. What's the secret? Do I need to turn the bluetooth off on my phone in order to kill it? Because that doesn't seem right.

    • @DoubleEagleGunworks
      @DoubleEagleGunworks  11 місяців тому

      The main power button is on the left ear control. The Bluetooth power is the center button on the right controller. Turn the main power on, then press and hold the Bluetooth button until you hear it say “power on”. To turn it off, press and hold the Bluetooth button until you hear it say “power off “, then turn off the main power. If you don’t turn the Bluetooth off, it will continue to drain the power.

    • @DoubleEagleGunworks

      Fred, thanks for watching. There are two on/off switches on these ear buds. The switch on the left controller turns the unit on and the other switch is on the right controller. The switch on the right is the middle button. Hold it down until you hear the “power on” announcement. I don’t have mine with me at the moment to verify this but I think you have to have both on to be able to adjust the volume. I always have both on when I wear mine.

    So to help me understand, when you're using this product out at the shooting range, you have the hearing enhancement switch on and the volume set low to keep to protect your hearing from the gunshot noise? The buds differentiate between, for instance, people speaking and the gunshot noise?
    Because I wear them, turn on the switch, and it seems like all they are doing is making everything easier to hear, amplified. Like if I shot a gun with them on it would be so much worse.

    • @DoubleEagleGunworks
      @DoubleEagleGunworks  Рік тому

      The ear buds amplify normal sounds but when they detect a sudden loud sound, like a gunshot, they mute the noise. The sound is clamped down during loud noises and then comes back up once the loud noise stops.

      @@DoubleEagleGunworks Fyi, I contacted AXIL customer support and they said that it is possible to combine the AXIL with other muffs, and that they have cusomer who do that. As to whether it works, I'll find out. I bought the AXIl plus a pair of electronically enhanced muffs by Walkers. Theoretically the sound from outside the Walkers is dampened but low dB enhanced, and that is what the microphones in the AXILs pick up. Sound quality is probably going to going a little weird but that's okay as long as I can hear my instructor.

    Will these automatically block a loud noise if its on pass thru audio (hearing enhancement)?

    • @DoubleEagleGunworks
      @DoubleEagleGunworks  Рік тому +1

      Yes. The hearing enhancement is not a separate setting like the Bluetooth. Once you turn the earbuds on, the hearing enhancement is activated. Loud noises are then blocked when they are detected. The noise blocking seems to work better if the Bluetooth is also turned on.
