I am on the fence on this. Anxiety is very real. For some people, they literally cannot move because their body is responding as if they’re in the middle of a mass shooting, even though nothing is going on. However if your anxiety is so bad that you can’t work, you should be able to collect disability. If it’s not, then I’d suggest more therapy and medication. Hey guys, I was in the SAME situation this lady was in and I could HELP HER ALOT. Pretty much, she's doing the right thing seeing someone about the anxiety issues *(As this was prob triggered during the stresses of collage. This is a very common thing)* and she got great advice from you about needing to get on Dave's plan and CARE LESS about letting people down. Live your own life and when someone isn't happy with you, you smile and tell them that's all you can do. I was 60K in debt making 30K and now I'm debt free, making 80K. Took about 3-4 years.
It's amazing she had the courage to call but honestly in anxiety situations (and I have been there) the best thing you can do it's to go out of the house and try to do your life. It will be so hard at first but in few weeks or months it will feel natural. When you stay at home it's easier to think everything is bad and feel bad for yourself, when you go out and you are busy you have no time to be sad and anxious. Not only work will make her anxiety less severe than she will also have money to enjoy her life better and stop stressing about debt. She needs to get into the cycle, now she is just in a hole.
Gotta call bs on the anxiety thing. Not that she doesn’t have it; a lot of people do. I was diagnosed with PTSD after my year long trip to Iraq (2003-2004.) I have insomnia, anxiety, nightmares, etc. I still go to work everyday. Some days it’s really hard. But I and millions of other people do it. This lady needs a job. Fast food, janitorial, drive for Uber, Uber eats, mechanical Turk, etc. Lots of options.
Yes. It's not that mental health issues aren't a serious problem. But society can't be patting people on the head and absolving them of any responsibility because of these issues. It's like people forget that the world doesn't owe us anything. I live in Boston. It's probably a global top 25 city, and would probably be the 5th most important economic hub in the USA, behind NYC, SF, LA, and Chicago. So, big magnet city for immigrants. Strangely, I don't encounter people from Africa, South Asia, East Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, etc, with anxiety issues too crippling to go work. Seems pretty unique to people born here.
My older brother is legally blind yet he still works full time. This lady needs to stop with her B's excuse and go out and get a job. Doing nothing, taking no actions is what's causing her "anxiety".
@@user56gghtf The key thing I keep going back to is the fact that she said her anxiety started after she stopped working. Granted I don’t know her but my gut feeling is she’s making excuses. Unfortunately there is still no correlation between youngsters signing loans for tens of thousands dollars and majoring in worthless degrees that have no real life value. Universities could care less about a student’s success or failure after graduation. The Professors and Administration received their paychecks and new buildings. Also carrying a student loan into your 40s, 20 years after graduation is a sign of other internal drive issues. I think accountability has been so far removed from our daily actions and vocabulary that very few will only be able to scratch the issue of what the root cause of their issues are.

I have tons of family with anxiety, some are on a daily pill and some take them as needed. All respond very well to the meds.

Anxiety is no excuse. I’ve been living with “high levels of generalised anxiety disorder” since I was 16 (28 now) yes it can be crippling, yes it’s unfair, blah blah blah. It’s no excuse. You can get all the therapy and medication that you desire, but the only person that can change that, is you. People that have anxiety can become lazy and blame their life’s problems on it, but it’s only detrimental to you and nobody else. Once you realise that, doors begin to open.
@@saulgoodman2018 No it’s not. But when you’re in a slump as this person clearly is and you’re using anxiety as your main contributing factor to poverty, something needs to change. Success is never built in your comfort zone.

I was diagnosed with PTSD after my year long trip to Iraq (2003-2004.) Fast food, janitorial, drive for Uber, Uber eats, mechanical Turk, etc. Lots of options.
Thank you for your service and sacrifice!

A degree is only as worthless as the one getting it. I majored in History and make a decent amount/bought a house in the Bay Area, California. My cousin has majored in chemistry and is on food stamps.
