    I'd be checking the filament voltage for the VFD, you can rejuvenate the VFD with about 9 volts or so, this will make it so much brighter, you can get video out from the monitor output, on that model there's composite, S-Video and component video outputs, there might be a setting that might be turned off, the output you used for video out is supposed to go to an external DVR for recording, that unit will hold it's memory for about a week, there's a super cap (can be seen at about 6:04) that might have died or you need to have it plugged in for longer to charge it up.

      Thanks, I appreciate the detail. I understand video out capabilities, but the point I was making regarding video out was lack of monitor on-screen display for menus, volume changes, speaker selections, sub out, equalisation and cross over frequencies etc.

      @@pescado99 That's the output you're supposed to use for both viewing movies and for settings, ordinarily you should be able to watch a movie and adjust the volume and still see the movie and see the volume change graphic on screen, you should be able to make changes to all the other things by pressing "Set Menu" the monitor out connection is the only one you should be using to get picture out to your telly, whether it's S-video, composite or component, if it doesn't work there's a fault with the unit rather than being designed that way.

    @pescado99: Hello. I have a RX-V757 and would
    like very much, to know how you brightened up
    your front panel display. You did not say how you
    did that, in the video. Thank you. 😁✌🖖

    It's a great receiver but the volume for the turntable seems to be low. I also have a Yamaha RX-V795A that won't power up. Any ideas why?

      Yes, the internal pre-amplifier for the moving magnet cartridges has pretty low gain.

      @@pescado99 I'm using a audio-technica at-lp120xbt-usb, would you suggest anything to give it a boost ?

      @@ozgreeny: You need a phono preamp.
      Check with your local hifi/consumer electronics store.
      Or, of course, online.
