- This apartment in Lower Manhattan by Union Square is an Absolute DREAM. Its flooded with natural sunlight and is in an elevator building on 14th Street and 2nd avenue in the East Village. Affordable apartments in buildings like this are ALWAYS a rare occurrence, but considering there is a KFC downstairs with Honey BBQ Wings, you dont have to cook to live here, even if eating fast food regularly drastically affects your lifespan. What do you think about living in a fun part of Manhattan in a luxury nyc apartment like this? Luxury Manhattan apartments are usually too expensive, but i like this one 👍

All these NY apartments have wine fridges so they encourage you to drink more and forget about how much you pay for such low standards
LOL I think this is true!
Haha yep’
I'd just store water bottles.
LOL!
Moderation is key! I’m just too ‘pour’ to stock a wine fridge to my satisfaction.
That 3rd apartment is honestly probably one of the best studio/1 bedroom flex you’ve shown on this channel for the price. Kitchen has every appliance you might want and the storage is also pretty good as well. Sign me up
The third apartment was by far the best; as well as the best rent. It even has a washer and dryer. 😃
I love how he’s also advertising restaurants, cafes, bars etc. hahaha
Needs to ask for some residuals or referral bonuses, lol!
Lol yep
I wonder what his exercise routine is because he seems to have eaten at EVERY restaurant and drunk at every bar. Really gives you a feel of the neigborhoods
neighborhood full of places like that raise up price of the apartment a lot:))
haha
Apartment #3 is my favorite. Modern esthetic, washer/dryer & the size is good for one person.
I agree, clearly the best.
And a great price!
First apt: That false wall was totally unnecessary and makes the apartment much less desirable.
Second: The bedroom "windows" add nothing. The room still feels claustrophobic.
Third: Unquestionably the best.
They dug some holes on the walls just to be able to legally call that a bedroom.
@@ligiabonfanti3493 Yes! that is definitely a NYC thing
@@vsibirsky I feel like a large, open studio would be more attractive than forcing a weirdly shaped and depressing jail cell of a bedroom. Who's making these decisions? They need to be fired.
@@lowestCommonDenominator Totally agree, but the reality is that they can probably get more money for a one bedroom, even an undesirable one, in regular times. And that's how most land/slum lords make decisions. But some of these split jobs are so poorly done and look terrible.
@@tatsftatsf Best I've ever seen is a lofted bed shelf bolted to all with a piece of iron pipe holding the free corner. 300 sq feet underneath was the living room and the washroom was an open concept with no walls! With a mattress and an aluminum, ladder. They converted a room for $500 a month to a one-bedroom for $2300 a month!
I left NYC 6 years ago and moved to Mexico. I have a 3 br 2 bath house with a yard and a terrace for $500 a month. The tacos are great and it’s like 70 degrees all year. I have a detached building behind my house with a bathroom that I use for storage. I always joke “if this were New York, I could rent this out for $1000 a month.”
i can’t believe the last apartment is only 1800 that’s incredible
I guess 😐
And here I live right outside Indianapolis paying $1100 (after taxes & insurance) a month for a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath house with a 4 car garage on .30 an acre.
@@gloriabrown2122 that amazing too
@@gloriabrown2122 that’s great but the thing with New York is you’re primarily paying for location and to be quite frank not many want to live in Indiana
I love the 3rd apt!!
Hi Cash! I have one of those bubble igloo plastic tents on my terrace! I wish I can show you a picture. It is the coolest thing when the snow is coming down or rain! I sit and have my cuppa coffee and watch the sunrise from the eastside in the mornings overlooking Central Park!
I'm literally in love with the last one, for the price and the neighborhood, I think they are pretty good. 100% I would rent it.
Never saw an apartment that just didn’t have lights! 😂
Shouldn't that be illegal? I know it is where I live.
Were there really no light fixtures....or was the electricity just turned off because no one lives there?
Haha
I think its disgusting even promoting that apartment to people.
Some of the apartments in New York City you have to get the lights cut on in your name before the lights get turned on in the apartment! Con Ed don’t play that!
3 is clearly the best. I feel like the bedroom in 2 would be smothering in summer.
I love the small shade he throws at different places 😭 the gym smoothie is definitely trueeee 😪
The third apartment is my favorite. Love apartments with washer and drier! Keep on going. Your doing a great job!
Agreed that the 3rd is the best and a good deal if you can tolerate the lack of views. The lobby/elevator actually looked nice and not scary unlike a lot of these buildings!
I love how the landlords actually care about the apartments.
Thanks for doing these! Surprisingly cheaper than what I pay in California. Cali is ridiculous. Maybe I should move back?!
#3 was by far the nicest, but you couldn't pay me to live in NYC.
What I noticed when I was in NYC a bit ago, Manhattan, how few obese people there are. You walk everywhere! The huge amount of people gives one a certain anonymity. So many places to eat! Shop! Walk it off! You don’t need the expense of a car. It wouldn’t be a boring place.
2nd apartment looks like it was a studio converted.
Yeah, it probably is. Same with #1. I don't get why they bother... is a tiny one bedroom REALLY that much more desirable than a good sized studio? I don't think it is...
The 3rd apartment is definitely my favorite because of the washer & dryer. I can’t believe it’s $405 less than the 2nd apartment! I’m guessing it has to do with location, location, location although it seemed to be in the same neighborhood. I don’t mind the tiny makeshift windows in the bedroom of the 2nd apartment because, if I’m trying to sleep, I don’t want a lot of sunlight in my eyes. (There would also be less outside noise penetrating your bedroom.) I thought l spied a water bug *4:54 in the 1st apartment, l went back and investigated... It was the “Weight” at the end of the pull-chain from the light on the ceiling. Having lived in Manhattan in the 1970s, I can vouch for the veracity of these humongous water bugs and cockroaches! Water buds so big, they could carry off a small child!
I love the third one! Looks super up to date and it is a little small but you have a nice high quality place and nice looking building! Great location and all for less than $2K!
Number 3 is by far the best Forget the view. It is modern and has all appliances including a washer and dryer.
The last apartment is definitely the best. Great location, in-unit laundry, and clean, modern finishes. I'm actually really surprised that it's going for under $2000.
The 3rd is so on my budget. And I love the building! The entrance had me sold.
I like the space, layout, and natural light of the second apartment, but the price and in-unit washer/dryer of the third unit won me over. I'll do just about anything to not haul my laundry outside my apartment.
Veselka is a GEM. The pierogies are amazing, but so is the borscht! Easily one of the best soups in the city! Get it together, Cash! 😂
I like the third apartment best, laundry in the unit for the win!
And don't knock the '65 Fairlane! A car like that is worth at least eight grand, and one in really good shape can run over 20K. I'm glad to see good old cars still exist in NYC.
@9:02 fun fact: apartments with no ovens and only hot plates are actually super common in major cities all around Asia (Tokyo, Shanghai, HK, Taipei, Seoul, etc)
I live in Central Florida, and the apartment prices here are comparable. I'd say you get a LOT more for your money in NYC in terms of cultural diversity, entertainment venues, museums, bookstores, etc.
Definitely, #3, is the best. A washer/dryer in the apartment is a big plus.
I Love your show, you should let NewYork 1 make a spot for you as a segment piece!.
Third apartment wins hands down.
Love the man on the street interviews!!
Cool!!
Hi, I’m watching this during school lunch❤️
Lol wish I could do that
Amazing
Same
Yes that's amazing :) probably learned more off of UA-cam then class anyways
"Death Trap Week"! I'd watch that... Also, I've eaten at the 99 cent pizza place more than I should admit to. It's not bad!
The 2nd and 3rd one are great! I feel like everyone uses the same interior decorator. The bathrooms in a lot of the videos all have the same tiles and sinks. Winners regardless. Loveeeee it.
We have to send Cash back to design school and teach him what a *sliding* glass door is. 🤣
I like Number 3 - right from the foyer / elevator that building looks so much better than the others - but all we see of NYC is body bags being loaded into trucks and that's not conducive to fantasies of moving to the Big Apple. Thanks for the vid.
Why am I hooked on your videos? I've never been to NYC my entire life. Lol
The 1,800 dollar a month apartment seems worth the price.
I can’t believe I’m saying that because where I live you can get a 2400 sqft house for that price 😂
I’m so jealous! I’m in California and pay $3,300/month for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment that is around 1100 sq ft! What state are you in?
@@MotherofDragons937 Boston same
#3! Inside laundry!! 💕✨✔ and has a WOW factor.
I would opt for the third apartment. It's really a great rent for the area. Thanks, Cash!
Very happy for this recommendation, your amazing at what direction you've taken for yourself!!! Your killing it, thank you for helping me threw a pandemic!!
petition to get a tour of cash's apartment :D
Looks like open concept to me.
Appreciate the grind, Cash. Apt #3 is my jam, mid price point and nicely appointment. Those bedroom windows in #2 look to barely meet code. Popeyes chicken sandwich is 🔥 ....love NYCers brutal honesty
That 3rd one is gorgeous and so affordable! I love this channel, I am addicted even though I live on the other side of the U.S in Washington state, I find it so interesting! Great job on your videos, thank you!
The second apartment advantage is that you'll never be alone, there's a huge bug in it
3rd place wins. I mean it has laundry in-unity and a nice kitchen. On the 2nd place I would mind the bedroom with no windows. Place 1 is a pass.
Omg the second bedroom with those tiny windows seems like a jail cell
At least you can leave tho lol
@@CashJordan If you put a loft bed in that bedroom, the little windows would be awesome. You could read during the day in bed. And save space by putting a desk and furniture. (From Mom with a teen with a loft bed in his room.)
Unless you work night shift.
The apartment without lights actually wouldn't be too bad for someone (me) who likes dimmer lighting (the dark)
Gonna be binge watching, new subscriber!!! Your videos make me feel calm for some reason 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Even with the unfortunate view, the third one is the best. Good value.
Unit 3 - by faaaaaaaarrrrrrr!! Keep up the good work Jordan - u rock bro!!
The 3rd apartment was definably my favorite one outta all 3 that apartment was perfect
Cash, that third one is a winner! Great job and thank you!
In search of a 2 bedroom with a lot of space throughout the apartment, washer dryer and affordable for a family of 3 is tough, I honestly wish I can take you along with the amount of knowledge you have is unbelievable. Thank you for these videos you give me hope. I watch all your videos so helpful learned so much! Also I did fill out your form to see if you will be able to assist us keep up the great work💯🤟
I agreed that the washer and dryer present in the unit make it the best of the three but I also like the fact that the breakfast bar when not in use creates a ton of extra counter space.
the 3rd one for sure. 23rd and 3rd used to be my hangout spot, waaaaaaaaaaaay back in the days... the neighborhood's completely changed over the years. but it's a decent apt. and easy access to public transportation.
Love this video of 3 units. Would love to see more cheap (maybe yucky?) NYC apts!!
Honestly, the third apartment is actually kind of my dream place. I'd probably move there if I won the lottery or something. The only thing I'd change would be the view.
Wow 3 apartments and you did not go too fast thank you! Appreciated
I use to work on 14th and get my nails done at that place at 4:23 😭 I miss NYC but I'm glad I left during the pandemic. Cabin Fever is real
That 3rd apartment is beautiful!
The last one is the best value for sure.
#3 beautiful finishes😍
Views are a minus
roomy & quite ➕
Add some bright lighting 🤩🤩🤩🤩
NY apartments will definitely teach me about to be a minimalist because my clothes will not fit any of those closets😳
Fun to watch!
I agree with the rest. The third apartment is the best. The kitchen is small but it has everything you need. It also has washer/dryer in the unit that Cash didn't mention. The price is good for the location. You can have a Murphy bed for a bigger living area 10' x 17'.
I love this area -- it's a really fun neighborhood. No laundry in building for #1 is a deal breaker though -- at least for me. Second apartment is a better deal. Apartment #3 is good with the stacking w/d! I'd choose #2 for myself if I had a choice.
2 apt had a nice layout
3 apt had really nice upgrades and modern
Nr 3 is the best.. washer and dryer are a big plus. Nice bathroom.
All three are in great locations. I like number 3 the best though. I like the new appliances and wine fridge. I don't mind the view as I like it dark and quiet. The only thing is no full bath. I like my Epsom salt baths. LOL
That last one is quintessential New York, *especially* the view!
I always enjoy your videos, Cash. Greetings from Vienna!
I love your commentary!
The third apartment was definitely the nicest, but given the price and location, if I had a choice I would choose number one. I love a tiny kitchen, more space for a living. Even though there wasn’t a lot of counter space, I love the drainboard attached to the wall, that was pretty funny. Only downside for me was those medicine cabinets you love, this one really needed a deep clean!
I grew up in NY, and I would never, ever, ever move back there. I am living in Tennessee now. I have a 2,300 sq ft house to myself and my mortgage is $850/month. I love visiting NY, and that is it.
Do you miss the pizza and what is it like in Tennessee?
@@janellerollins5893 My sister moved from NY to TN(her husbands job transfer)...raised her kids...HEr kids moved back to NYC after college and vowed to never go back to TN. I guess it depends on the person. The access to Food and Culture is very important to some people. I do get it that some people would rather have more affordable and larger living space for sure. However When my sister visits the first thing the do is hit up food spots and eat real pizza. In a perfect world we could have both in NYC ,
@@janellerollins5893 Its hard to replicate NY Pizza, that is for sure! I do miss it a bit but being Diabetic I shouldn't have it much either! It's gorgeous in TN. Mountains, Rivers, beautiful trees, mild winters, I absolutely love it here!
@@psotos one more question. How is the nightlife, churches and restaurants? Thanksss
@@janellerollins5893 I live near 3 churches...3 too many if you ask me...The nightlife and restaurants are fine, but nothing can compare to NYC. The key is, how much night life do you need? And is it worth throwing all of your money away for it. Its hard to save money when the cost of living is so high.
loved the last one
I have never been to NY nor ever plan to. I came across your channel and really enjoyed your enthusiasm and humor! Best to you and your channel
Thanks
Apt 2 is the greatest! I work midnights so having no Windows in the bedroom works really well!
I love your youtube bro thanks for doing it
Plus it help alot plus im looking for a place
Love your videos!!
Thanks!!
The third apartment is the best apartment!
Loving your videos😍 I'm not in New York. But I have been there several times. Just in case you haven't figured this out yet. When you see a lot of mirrors in a room it's to make the room look larger. 🤷🏽♀️
To me the $1800's apartment is the best but is a shame that it doesn't have enough sunlight. That is a must have for me
#3 is the nicest by far. Who needs a view when the indoor is so nice.
That last apartment was great!
This channel is great
I love the high windows in the bedroom.
#1 is a no. #2 is cozy but need that bedroom window. #3 is really cute. . It’s the washer/dryer for me.
Yes, like Goldilocks; that 3rd unit is JUST RIGHT. The 1st unit DOES NOT NEED that 3/4 wall separating the bedroom from the rest of the unit; otherwise, I'd be willing that make that work. I'd love that 2nd unit walk-in closet as a space where I could record VO. Also, presuming one does not add a window A/C in the 1st and 2nd units, you could access that courtyard/roof space through the window?
Great video, as usual😁
The last one was by far the best!
New york reminds me of chicago.yes,i live in chicago.rents vary ,drpending on area, and apartment.
Unit 3 is great!
6:35 love those tiny bedroom windows up there. No vampires are getting in through those lil beauties
What?! No packages left at the bottom of the stairs. You do realize, I use this as a barometer, as to how well the economy is going.😉
Love the light and overall feel of the second unit. However, the last apartment had an elevator with a wine specialty shop nearby. So, if one ends up miserable taking apartment #3, that wine shop will help you forget quickly.
Another GREAT video!😄
The third one is definitely the best.
Hi I am a new subscriber and hopefully soon a new realtor in NYC lolol. I appreciate your videos big time.
Of the three, I like the third one best. I don't like the lack of an outside view, but the bathroom looks nice, the kitchen is workable (with nice appliances), it has laundry in the unit, and I prefer the neighborhood. The lack of a view might drive me crazy, though.
#3....nice touches! Gets my vote!😂
