This interviewer 100% deserves a raise! Love the way he approached the topic openminded and even dropped his drawers for public education. Well done, sir.
I agree. I would be so annoyed if the interviewer was the type of guy to be laughing nonstop through this entire thing. And honestly... 95% of people would. They found the perfect guy for this. He keeps it serious but laughs when it's appropriate.

This is a really great one. You’re being kind and compassionate on a subject that most can’t even address without making a joke. Really glad this popped into my recommendations.
As an European I'm surprised Americans are so biased towards circumcision. They really are the only nation doing it and are proud of their desensitised organs. I can see the older gentlemans point of his worry about his body and why circumcision performed whiteout consent should not be allowed
My sensation is just fine bud haha. If you're not circumcised, how can you assume we lose any feeling? You're crazy delusional and been taught some weird ideals. We are an advanced society bud, therefore we understand if you circumcised it causes less problems later in life. But do you and keep a dirty pee pee.
As an American who found themselves pregnant with a baby boy I was actually very concerned with the decision of circumcision. I did some research and was so disgusted. A baby the mintue it comes out the womb is supposed to feel skin to skin. Doctors nurses will lie to your face (mostly unknowingly) that babies cant feel it. But you wouldn't cut off the earlobe because that's barbaric but it's okay to cut down there. Its appalling and just another thing that's deeply flawed with our healthcare system. Yay America.
America is so fucking weird seriously. They always have to approach everything in such a fucked up way, healthcare, lawsuits , money, abortion , circumcision , education…
Most American boys are in favor of their circumcisions usually and I think it's mostly due to a phenomena thats very present in this country where people take up a decided and strong viewpoint on something as a coping mechanism to hide the true reality that what they pertain to believe in is out of their control. So many American biases are contrived this way... Our division exists only in our insecurity of our multitudes of oppression.
Brother K has dedicated his life to protecting children from forced genital cutting. He is truly a hero and Im so lucky to have been able to meet him. Hopefully I can protest with him again one day soon!
I'm not circumcised, and at one point in my life I might have felt like I needed to and it was probably only to please other people more than myself. I'm glad I never went through with it and won't ever.
I never thought about it.. my husbands Puerto Rican.. when I had my son they asked if we wanted him to get circumcised and I said I guess (his father is not) and I remember he looked that doctor right in the face and said “WHY? For what reason? What medical reason is there for tying my son down and cutting his skin off?” And her answer was “well there is no medical reason as long as it’s kept clean” and he just dismissed her and then I actually thought about it A LOT
@NotTrollinif he experienced it or not, he has a good reason to warn people against this. I will watch the rest of the video now. The part with the man i think you mention comes now. It seemed like to me that he knew how it felt like to have been robbed of that bodypart 'and have no say'. So i would be natural to have feelings about this. I have talked to people that have that experience, and they wish they wasnt mutilated. I can say i support them fully in speaking up for this case, obviously. Wishing ya'll a good day/night (;;
@NotTrollin i get your point and you can wish that if you do, ofc, that they did that to you as a baby. I am not in your body, life, or anything. But I can say i was thinking you are lucky that you have the choice. Not trying to be rude. Cuz it might be wrong to say that, cuz i am not you. But you can still have that operation now/later, i guess, if you really wish to. Even if it means paying and having some time off. As you said, its about the choice as an adult. Vs. an assault in my opinion. If you never knew how it was to have the foreskin maybe you would feel different, like it was unfair ect. But who knows. Not trying to speak for you. What i want to do with these comments is make people think and encourage them to think, and hopefully to not hurt babies by unneccesary mutilation, which I see as unethical.
@NotTrollin why? There are guys hanging weights off it to try and get their foreskins back! It rubs against clothes, you loose sensitivity. It’s there’s for a reason.
Also my oldest brother got circumcised at 21. He said sex is not as good and still isnt ever since he got circumcised. 18 years later he still regrets it.
I think it differs. I’m cut, my best friend isn’t. Judging by how we both describe sex. There seems to be no “super big” difference like people keep saying.
@@pHixiq I believe it can differ for sure. Just coming from my brother who's been on both sides. I know more people who say it took away pleasure. Not crazy but some regret some dont. I wouldn't know lol

That Bloodstained Men leader is fantastic. Spitting absolute bangers. Makes me want to join the org being a circumcised man myself. This was a fantastic video, great job Vice. My only issue with it is the initial conversations surrounding penis sizes and then the content makes an obvious turn towards the extreme sizes. This to me deflates the whole conversation and might make men with genuine size concerns look like we all want to go around wielding 10 inch, 11 inch and crazy big sizes which certainly doesn't speak for myself and I'm sure doesn't speak to most men, such as those of us who are legitimately small or smaller than average or diagnosed with micro-penis. It may not have been the intention behind the creators here but that's certainly how it felt to me. It's important to portray what the extreme side of things looks like but given that I feel most of society tends to take penis enlargement as a joke most of the time it made that part of the video feel less substantive and might help feed other people's perceptions that penis enlargement is nothing more than a fetish or a fad and not to be taken all that seriously.
Finally talking about the ginormous elefant in the room. Circumcision without consent should be illegal. "My body, my choice" applies to both men and women! Leave children´s genitals alone, it´s disturbing as hell.
@@WhuDhat Because FGM has little to no actual benefits. Circumcision is not only beneficial, but also a treatment for retraction problems. Being circumcised reduces the chances of UTI’s and penile cancers. It means that dirt and ‘cheese’ cannot become trapped under the foreskin which can be a major hygiene problem if not cleaned correctly. It entirely prevents retraction problems, cured by circumcision and it was also found males that were circumcised, on average, lasted longer. If done by the right person, there is no reason it shouldn’t be common practise at childbirth. I’d rather have it at birth, not remember the pain and go about the rest of my days, than have it at the age of 10 and be able to remember the pain.
@@WhuDhat bc its very common in abrahametic religions and a lot of people feel that it's important for hygiene for something. Also removing an entire sexual organ or the labia is considered significantly more violant than removing skin without consent.

The harm of circumcision, as described in a leading college anatomy textbook: “The prepuce [foreskin] is the most densely innervated and sensitive region of the penis, with an abundance of tactile corpuscles and nerves concentrated in ridges on its proximal inner surface. Circumcision thus removes the most sensitive part of the penis. The exposed mucous membrane of the glans then transforms to a thin, drier, and less sensitive epidermis.” Anatomy and Physiology: The Unity of Form and Function, Kenneth Saladin (McGraw-Hill, 8th ed.), p. 1037

My parents had me circumcised because it was the norm, and my procedure was botched due to the experienced doctor being replaced with an amateur at the last moment. I don't resent my parents but I hate that circumcision is so normalized. People think trauma doesn't impact babies but it absolutely does, and I will never know just how much that procedure messed me up.
This was fascinating, great watch. I was circumcised by my parents, but never thought much about it back in the day. I have 3 boys now, and I did not circumcise any of them
Weird! I just watched this too. I think they need "permission from the Supreme Court" to do this to babies, but I'm just a second-class citizen as a woman now, so what do I know. Yes, I'm ranting but also excited to see Carpo in the comments.
I was born in a country where my generation of baby boys were no longer circumcised. When my family and I moved to the US however, my parents got pressured into allowing the procedure to be done to me. I was five years old and remember the whole experience and how terribly painful and gruesome it was. I now live in Germany and realize that such a procedure was completely unnecessary and done without my consent and with absolutely zero benefits. My sister unfortunately is a doctor in the US and has been brainwashed to believe that circumcision is absolutely necessary. It makes me so sad to think that Americans consider mutilating baby boys beneficial. To me, it’s absolutely a crime, just like female genital mutilation. American doctors should be ashamed of themselves for performing such procedures. Stop mutilating baby boys under the guise of a “necessary” medical intervention. And to all American mothers: how would you have liked it, if your parents had performed female genital mutilation on you?
Female & male circumcisions are not comparable. Both are medically unnecessary, but female circumcision which in most cases remove all or part of the clitoris is done in a non medical setting by someone other than a medical practioner.
Female mutilation removes proportionally much more of the organ and commonly the entire organ. Procedures like the “husband stitch” can cause excruciating pain and have been performed without consent on adults as well as babies. Female mutation is a symptom of sxism and not just misguided health concerns or aesthetics. Both horrible but not at all the same. Your point stands on its own. You don’t need to compare.
@@nuclearlefthook5008 I'll be real about, it's still sensitive and I truly believe my doctor did a heck of a job. Now female gender mutilation is horrible and should definitely not be done to women.
Finally! Someone bringing this topic to light. The Bloodstained Men may be a bit weird sometimes, But they still do amazing work and deserve all of the recognition they can get.
It only comes across weird sometimes because society made it ok to mutilate people and anyone who reacts negatively is an outcast which is psychotic when you break it down this way
I agree -- I don't really like some of the tactics and language they use, but I understand why it works and that they're doing it from the place of wanting to raise awareness about an important issue. It is absolutely the case that circumcision of healthy infants is harmful and that the conditions are not in place to allow proxy-consent by parents.
I hope this opens a few people’s eyes and changes a few people’s hearts when it comes to genital mutilation. Just because it happens in a “first world/developed” country like America doesn’t mean it isn’t wrong.

First time I encountered a uncircumcised dck in the wild (my brother wasn’t circumcised but I wasn’t interacting with his dck) I was a bit taken aback. I’d never thought to much about circumcision bc every guy I’d been with was cut. But I was hooking up with this Russian dude and ended up prob asking way too many questions. I realized I’d been culturally conditioned to think a cut shlong was how a dck was supposed to look. I still find them more aesthetically pleasing but it’s not a deal breaker. When I was pregnant I actually got in a huge fight with my bf ovr whether we’d circumcise our baby if it was a boy. I insisted it should be his choice and he couldn’t decide at 5mins old. Fortunately we had a grl bc my bf told me he wouldn’t have anything to do with his son if I didn’t get him circumcised. (He was young & immature.) But to him it was unthinkable. He’s actually come around to agreeing with my position now. But when you’re raised believing something is the correct way to do things, it can take awhile to let go of that way of thinking. In America for a large % of the population, circumcision is just normal and just the correct way to deal with baby boys. Tho that is changing. Mostly the crunchier types tho.
@@lylecosmopolite yes I agree it’s less about the religion. I was just pointing out that this is a fact for many Christian communities and therefore isn’t a Jewish/ Muslim or American thing solely. Since I know many who are Christian’s and circumcised due to their cultural ties

This is actually a really good journalism. Before seeing this I've never thought much about it. But have to admit as a man I got a lot of questions regarding this matter that haven't been answered for a very long time.
Growing up, there were Roma men with briefcases walking on the streets and yelling "Circumcisoooorr". People would call them in to get the job done at their home! They would also cut hair and remove rotten teeth if needed:/ I got mine at the age of 11 (too late) at home by a doctor and it was a traumatic experience for me and for my brother. Parents shouldn't be allowed to make permanent changes to the bodies of their children.
Hence why it should be done at birth. The pain will not be remembered. The benefits far outweigh the downsides. It prevents retraction problems entirely, reduces chances of UTI’s and penile cancers and is the more hygienic option. Leaving it down to the choice of the person is cruelty. If they want it done it will be painful for them, naturally. It should be done at birth, to every male born. I mustn’t forget to mention, if a male does have retraction problems, the one and only cure: is circumcision.
uncircumcised here. So happy that my parents left that choise to me. It’s nice to have the foreskin as a protective layer around the most sensitive body part.
I prefer the word intact. Uncircumcised is a propaganda term designed to demonize the natural penis. I am no more uncircumcised because no one has ever cut off parts of my vulva than I am undecapitated because no one has ever cut off my head. You are blessed to have all of your penis. 💕
@@mike7984 That man must not have washed himself very well because I can tell you there is no scent difference in clean men. I'm sure if your girlfriend doesn't bathe a few days she might not smell very good down there either X)
The most evil aspect of circumcision is that circumcised boys grow up to become men obsessed with circumcising their own sons. This is why circumcision persists from generation to generation. Countries that used to circumcise large numbers of infants but that no longer do so are Australia, parts of Canada, New Zealand and the UK. Since the 1990s, routine infant circumcision has been a minority practice west of the continental divide.
Probably because those men strongly prefer their circumcised penises? I don't understand why or how it would be better with foreskin on top, it's plenty sensitive, dry clean etc. Despite what the activist said there are also medical and hygienic benefits. It reduces the chance of catching HIV and other STIs (slightly, but it does). It's also easier to keep clean and smelling nice. It's a touch decision, and I won't be having kids anyways, but I'm happy my parents did it for me.

I was circumcised just after birth. They had to do it twice because they messed up the first time. It's fine now, but the scar line is uneven (purely cosmetic). However, I wish I was not circumcised. Not just because they messed up the first time - that's actually my last reason. First and foremost is because of sensitivity. I don't know what I'm missing. You have a ton of nerve endings in your foreskin, and furthermore, I would have generally just preferred to make that decision myself instead of having it made for me. On the whole, it's not a huge deal. It's not something that I'm upset or resentful over, but if I ever have a son, I will NOT circumcise them. And I'm adamant about that. If my wife wanted them circumcised, that would be a situation where I would put my foot down. You're not making the decision for them to remove a piece of their genitals.

I respect and love to see people being passionate against 'injustice' and agree that circumcision is not only unnecessary, but that performing the act during infancy is a cruel practice which primarily serves as a measure of assimilation. The glimpse of such groups offered here made me wonder though: to what extent does this group, its members and others like them also acknowledge, spread awareness of or act to abolish the equally (if not more) gruesome, senseless and widespread practice of female circumcision/genital mutilation? Not to judge . . . It just made me wonder and I hope to see some Vice content on that subject soon as well (assuming it doesn't already exist).
Female circumcision is condemned by all sorts of international bodies and governments whereas male circumcision is not despite being four times more frequent if memory serves. The WHO and the like don't even acknowledge the harm in male circumicision but there is no western person alive who does not acknowledge that female circumcision is wrong. Female circumcision is already widely condemned and you would have to raid some obscure African villages to end it completely like every other bizarre coming of age ritual in the third world like scarring a boy's back with knives to make his skin look like crocodile skin or they can make him kill a lion or maybe they'll have girls wear rings around her neck to elongate her neck. I'm sure you can perceive the difference between holding western governments to the simple task of outlawing male circumcision and abolishing the practices of jungle tribes.

@@b1gju1ce80 The loss off the foreskin alters sex DRAMATICALLY no matter when it happens, because the foreskin protects the glans, includes thousands of pleasure receptive nerve endings, and affords a frictionless slinking and gliding mode of stimulation. In infancy unintended effects are a much greater risk because everything is so small and because the skin can not be cut off until it is first torn free of the glans (often leaving pits and gouges in the glans). There's no right way to do a wrong thing. We now know that most foreskin problems can be resolved without surgery, and that many circumcisions are justified based on things that aren't really problems. The global average age at which a healthy normal intact boy first sees his glans is 10.4 years.
@@b1gju1ce80 the only difference is that people who get it as newborns will not know that they are less sensitive than others, but it has the same risk for ED and furher loss of sensation down the line.
I had both my boys circumcised because of the “health reasons” I had heard about. I wish I would have researched more because I wouldn’t do it the same if I could do it over again. 😢
One of my husbands most traumatic memories is requiring a circumcision at 10 yo for those health reasons. His mom didn’t believe in circumcising him as a baby, but he ended up requiring one later. The procedure was done under general anesthesia, but the healing took forever and it was apparently ungodly painful for a long time. He is adamant boys should be circumcised due to his own experience. So don’t be too hard on yourself.
@@rosieposie2161 First off, really sorry your husband had to endure that. It’s a lot to go through at any age. While I can’t speak to the details of his surgery and the necessity of it, I will say that in the past, a lot of issues (like phimosis) that were once treated with circumcision are now cured non-surgically. American (and Australian, Canadian, etc.) doctors were trained to have a really negative attitude towards foreskin, so cutting it off was kind of a cure all. In other countries where more guys have it and there’s a better knowledge of its anatomy, it’s really not that common for guys to have to get it done. And to the op, don’t beat yourself up over it. It’s a cultural shift that needs to happen and it’s really not your fault.
@@rosieposie2161Its quite sad that people associate their personal experiences with necessity for others. Most people will never have a single issue with their penis, and even those who do, such as phimosis, find its extremely easy to treat most issues. Circumcision is the most drastic measure for the littlest of reasons. Its immoral and barbaric, especially the fact its forced on infants without consent.
In what world was amputation ever an acceptable "hygiene" measure? I mean I guess I'm glad that you regret it, but do you just abandon all critical thinking when someone in a lab coat tells you to cut off your infant son's penis?
Great upload! I agree with some scholars that circumcision is a "blood ritual" to appease a demon around 23rd century BCE. I would never do this to my children -- when I was 7 years old, my mother took my newborn brother to get it done and made me stay in the room while it was performed-- I was absolutely traumatized, I know he felt pain -- doesn't matter what the doctors said, I could feel my tiny little brothers agony.
My kid brother…I vowed never to do this if I ever brought a son into this world…I was 13 at the time…it was so painful for him and he was so small. Very traumatizing. And yes, I, too, believe that it is a ritual.
@@NRS8963 I'm sorry for your kid brother having to have that stupid "procedure" done. Literally the science shows that circumcision has 0 positives for the male gentile but more hindering to the male. Look up the Kelloggs cereal founder and you'll see that he and his "cohorts" planned their fake science in order to spread the ritual. Sickos.
I was cut when I was 9 without anesthesia. The pain was unbearable. They say I got very pale before I passed out. A sad, traumatic and unforgetable experience for me.

there's many different types of intactivists. This group takes the more dramatic approach. There is no "one size fits all" for activism. Different methods work for different people
Agreed, Americans tend to be idiots and make impulsive decisions based on first impressions and personal bias, they see some cringey, SJW-adjacent hippies screech about circumcision and they, if anything, feel more compelled to defend their idiotic beliefs (which isn’t that hard when they grew up bombarded with circumcision supremacist propaganda) rather than research more on the topic with an open mind. It doesn’t help that some intactivists are so confrontative and uninviting that any person remotely receptive to their message is scared off. Basically, the only people fully receptive to their message were already somewhat educated about the topic or not American.
This was the best documentaries I have ever seen! (trying to avoid being biased) but on a serious note, I do think that this is a very serious issue and after watching the documentary, I feel a little bit more educated about harms of circumcising babies.

As an American who found themselves pregnant with a baby boy I was actually very concerned with the decision of circumcision. I did some research and was so disgusted. A baby the mintue it comes out the womb is supposed to feel skin to skin.

It's important to portray what the extreme side of things looks like but given that I feel most of society tends to take penis enlargement as a joke most of the time it made that part of the video feel less substantive and might help feed other people's perceptions that penis enlargement is nothing more than a fetish or a fad and not to be taken all that seriously.

female circumcision is heavily+ frowned upon, why isn't the male counterpart treated the same?
@@WhuDhat Because FGM has little to no actual benefits. Circumcision is not only beneficial, but also a treatment for retraction problems. Being circumcised reduces the chances of UTI’s and penile cancers. It entirely prevents retraction problems, cured by circumcision and it was also found males that were circumcised, on average, lasted longer. The harm of circumcision, as described in a leading college anatomy textbook:
“The prepuce [foreskin] is the most densely innervated and sensitive region of the penis, with an abundance of tactile corpuscles and nerves concentrated in ridges on its proximal inner surface. 1037

I was circumcised and 25 years later still not happy about it. I've been looking at surgeries on how to get it stretched back out.
The Bloodstained Men is the most metal name for a group ever
Usually with movements like these, the people are crazy and full of misinformation. These guys may have had a tinge of that, but overall they had a sound argument and from what I could tell, their facts are true. I respect it.

He was wrong about the cleanly aspect, though. Circumcised is cleaner (obviously) but that isn’t a good reason to do it.. Uncircumcised men can simply be more thorough while cleaning. It’s not hard.
The pants are designed to grab people’s attention when they want to ignore the truth.

The problem with circumsision is that the most sensitive part of the penis the head is exposed to friction everyday therefore it gets desensitised, as for the women in the video , if you asked the same question in europe the answer would be very different…
I absolutely agree about circumcision. It makes NO sense to have one done on a child and the "clean" argument makes no sense when you can easily teach your child how to clean it.
It's helps for when their older. You'll be surprised just how many guys don't clean their junk. It is really gross.

My sister has had two boys and she refused to have either them circumcised, their dad wanted it done but after she explained some of these facts he agreed with her. If it’s something that they want to have done later in life they can always get it done.
Just make sure those boys aren't weirded out by thoroughly cleaning their genitals when in the shower! One reason for circumcision later in life is multiple infections from poor hygiene.
@@janinewetzler5037 yes, that is true. Our ancestors didn’t have good hygiene practices so things like this were a necessity. But thankfully now because of things like soap, we don’t have to worry about ruining a man sensation down there.
@@lacyrussell6688 Actually circumcision was never a 'necessity' for humans. Historically, circumcision has always been a religious ritual and nothing more. The only people that did it since antiquity were those who treated it as a religious practice. In the majority of civilizations men lived normally with intact genitals. And thankfully as u mentioned now we have water and soap so that makes even more unnecessary.
@@janinewetzler5037 The way yall gotta exaggerate with the so called "multiple infections" etc.💀Any body part can potentially get infected, but it happens rarely and we don't amputate when its healthy. Treating the foreskin differently is nonsense.

As someone from the UK, I agree that circumcisers should be jailed. Its absolutely bizarre and just cruel to be doing this to people.
Equally bizarre is how the general public in America think that standing up against this disgusting practice is 'weird', and thought it was a joke.

@@tosmok No, but routine infant amputation of the entire labia minora and clitoral hood would be very comparable. Should we do that? Girls' labia collect smegma-like substances too. We just WASH OURSELVES. Or I know! How about we lop off all women's breasts? Statistically, that would be WAY more protective against health issues than circumcision.

@@tosmok how is that even remotely close to abortion? ;) That’s a whole other topic haha! It’s fair to have your own opinions, thoughts, and feelings. I’m personally not against abortion due to the crazy amount of variables as to why someone might want/need that done. As for foreskin.. its unusual here to know someone who doesn’t have a foreskin. Don’t have any issues myself, nor do any of the other people. It’s possible that it was popularised earlier on for medical related reasons. The circumcising thing is still somewhat of a thing in Canada. And oh boy did I encounter some circumcised-supremacists.
One guy told me that men who aren’t are dirty and all it leads to is infections. When In reality as long as you have running water and practice basic hygiene it’s not an issue.
But they will maintain a firm position on that and will definitely shame you if you are. It’s so weird how passionate people get when it’s a normal part of the body and honestly unless you have Phismosis (which isn’t even a big issue for a lot of guys who do have it) you’re fine. And the stigma surrounding it is genuinely weird and people who judge you based off of that are even weirder.

My son is 25 now, and I did not have him circumcised. He told me he's glad I made the decision not to have that done to him.

From someone that had to get circumcised for medical reasons as an adult, it makes a BIG difference to how sex feels, and ultimately ones enjoyment of sex. Parents that circumcise their kids should be shunned
Any ethical doctor will tell an adult circumcision patient: "Your penis will be uncomfortably sensitive at first but will numb with time." HELLO! What if I didn't want numb!
getting circumsized as a newborn and adult are two completely different things bro
The loss of comparative sexual sensitivity is pretty much non existent for early age circumcision
Your mistake was getting it as such a late age so you're unfortunately gonna have problems
Although maybe mistake might be the wrong term cause I assume the medical reason of your's was something out of your control and not just from a crazy case of bad hygeine

Tell them that when it's age appropriate. I promise you, as an unfortunately cut man, they'll appreciate your honesty and sincerity.
