Excellent! Bravo! I have been trying to make the distinction between captions and subtitles to my friends and colleagues. It is hard to get across. Another feature of captions is that they can be turned on and off. Not to mention subtitles "burnt in" to videos so you cannot get rid of them without destroying the whole video. Very annoying indeed. Thank you very much!
@@VideoZeus Thanks a lot for your reply! "Burnt in" subtitles have one more annoying aspect as they can not be turned off. As I am multilingual I want to add captions in Swedish and Finnish and it just looks ridiculous having captions displayed on top of burnt in text! It should be forbidden by law!
Hi, I have been watching movies on Netflix and the query I have is that, in movies if someone says " Alan said he will come today" then in subtitles it comes written as"Alan said he would come today" . So the confusion I have got is that will here used for future but would have meaning of possibilities. So you tell me th subtitles are wrong and why or I am understanding English incorrectly.
I allow UA-cam to auto execute captions on my branded channel I then copy and edit the captions so they are at least accurate to what I wanted to say. I stuttered as a child and have pretty much overcome stuttering when I speak but it still creeps in here or there. I live in Canada and want some of my videos in French so thanks for this video. I have been translating those videos myself but if it could be automatically done for me and done well cool. Because google translate very often misses the intended meaning of what is said.
Good to know! I feel like auto captions are great for short videos 1-2 minutes in length bc it doesn’t take long to go back and edit. But anything longer, I just pay Rev to do it. What’s worth it more - your time or money
Thanks for explaining this. I would see auto caption is turned on but I never understood what that meant I just posted something on LinkedIn it's just me doing some work the only sound is that of the equipment being used. Error message reads that it had difficulty and no auto caption now I get it okay. I have started working with a company called crone they're redoing some of my business page I went back to do an edit of something the AI wrote and it got a little nasty with me and threw me off! I guess it has more feelings than we give it credit for but it still made me look like an arrogant fool from what it is written so I totally understand about keeping an eye on your social presents

🙌🏼 great additional tips Rolf. I agree subtitles can destroy the aesthetic of a video but also serve an important purpose. It’s always a hard choice!
