Thanks so much for making this video! Kapwing worked and was pretty user friendly. I´m not so technologically savvy so this was really a lifesaver for me. It got most of it right--I´m an American but speaking Spanish in the video. The few details were easy to edit too.

I've been trying this free app & it really does help my work becomes a lot more faster, but since I only use the free one, I can't get the SRT format for my subtitles. I just hope my employer doesn't makes it mandatory to be in a SRT file lol

I tried that and it does work. You will have to do some editing. So, question: It doesn't create CC subtitling which is part of the stream. It appears to 'burn-in' the cc. You cannot turn it on and off when viewing in UA-cam using the [CC] button. Zeus, do you find this to be true? The AI is good at speech rec and it seems to be cloud-powered which makes it faster than if you tried to do that locally. What would be super is if the captioning produced a file that could also become a transcript which could then be merged as a true CC subtitle stream.
If you upgrade it can produce an SRT file. But otherwise, yes, it burns it in.

I don't know the details but the videos were public and I deleted them does that mean that no one will be able to see them anymore? would help if you answered.

I think I got the answer now, I for one didn’t realise that subtitle can be activated through smartphone and I know that their are lots of people like me who aren’t aware of this hence the subtitle in post which will benefit the smartphone users who aren’t digitally savvy . But if you’re digitally savvy, then u activate it from the 3 dots on the up right of your smartphone phone.

I just followed this video (super helpful) but when I went to export I keep getting a message saying I must upgrade to Pro or "Remove the following file to publish"? So even though this is in Beta, no free export options which is super disappointing since I just spent 2 hours editing a 3 minute clip because it's 285MB vs. 250MB. Now I have to decide if the pricing is worth it since I don't edit a ton of videos. Bleh.

You are misinforming. You said the app is free. After spending a long time to add subtitle, when I decided the export it rejected and asked for upgrade, and of course, a paid version. You MUST mention that this app does not have a free version,.

Hi Brian, thank you for sharing this great tool with us, is it possible to keep a multilingual subtitle using kapwing, say both in the original language and the auto-translated text?
Said you did not mention the subtitles are free only for videos that are not longer then 7 min! I wanted to see if it is a good app! At the end of my work it popes up that as my video is longer then 7 min I had to upgrade it if I wanted to have the subtitels! I wasted time!
Kapwing offers an affordable product, more so than having a human manually caption the videos. $20 is cheap for what your wanting done.
