Hot tip, water acts as a natural rust activator, called oxidation an over time micro surface rust will happen on your chain . Whenever I do my chain clean after giving it a wash but run my heat gun over it, drys the water off an heats the chain which also will help the chain lube stick better.
You forgot about the throttle body synchronization. That’s why shops charge so much. I just bought a manometer for a 130$ easy job just takes some effort.
Almost at 1000 subs , CONGRATS DUDE. I recently got a 2022 MT-09 and you have inspired me to follow my dreams and make my own channel!!! Peace and Love brotha keep producing this HEAT!!!!!
I just bought a 2022 MT10 from a Yamaha main agent, my first service is free, same as it was on the last bike I bought from them , my 2016 MT09 Sport Tracker.
@@SOCALMOTOBROS Well, that's the funny part, ordered in March, they called me just yesterday with a delivery date in the first week of November, just in time to stick it in the shed until the spring. I'll have a better answer to that in about May of '23 after I've got the 600 mile service out of the way. I've ridden the mark 1 MT10 but ordered the Mark 2 completely blind, haven't even sat on one.
@@disaffectedmale oh that’s unfortunate. We’re in California so we have decent riding weather throughout the year. We actually ride a bit less in the summer cause it’s so hot!
@@SOCALMOTOBROS I got one before 2022 ended it's cool main thing I'm not too great with is the gearing feels so short that a 600 would blow by you fairly easily( i'm sure A mode is loads different). Other than that, the bikes pretty good so far at my 600-mile mark. But that's kind of also me being gentle with the motor and riding in B mode so I don't get too out of hand on the motor. it definitely needs a flash though throttle is extremely choppy in lower rpms in all modes.
Dont know if this is the, but I saw a video that shows as long as you use yamalube from the first service the warranty the motor as long as it is used.
My oil filter was also impossibly tight and i had to hammer on a filter socket to remove it. The drain bolt though was the absolute worse. I pulled so hard on my wrench that i broke my finger tip and my bike wanted to come off the stand. It made a loud metallic popping noise when it finally snapped free and i thought i broke something (besides my finger)
Ayo im new here😅 but im watching your suprise daughter video and thats got me thinking when u talked about school and all and u are doing good job and amazing videos🙏🙌
@@SOCALMOTOBROS I don't think youtube allowed my last 2 messages with the image through but the top half was so squished from using the flexible oil filter tool that I had to use a flat head and hammer combo
@@darkviper099 ya it looks like they removed your comment. Apparently they have body builders put those oil filters on cause we had a hard time taking it off on mine as well.
**Warning** do not follow the owners manual torque spec for the oil drain bolt. My manual calls for 32 ft lbs. I'm pretty sure I just fkd my oil sump doing my 600 mile service. I'll know for sure next time I pull the bolt. I'm pretty sure I'll be buying a new oil sump. I'll just be tightening by feel with a ratchet and socket next time.
“Hand tight”…..proceeds to put both shoulders and arms into tightening it. You really should have the proper oil filter ratchet tool. It makes removing them a breeze. Also, “hand tight” isn’t enough. You should snug it up with the aforementioned tool. Also, cleaning a chain is totally unnecessary. Unless you’re mx’ing in the mud. It’s an o-ring chain. Needs minimal maintenance.
Bro my 2022 mt09 filter was tight AF TOO. So tight in fact when i used the oil filter wrench to remove it, it actually dented the filter. SMDH. YES I THINK HERCULES PIT THEM ON 😂😂😂😂😂

Top tip, hold a piece of cardboard behind the chain when spraying the wax, less clean up.
Best color. I had to drive 7 hours one way to get one in this color combo. Love it tho.

Does the transmission oil need to be replaced too?
It uses the same oil. Therefore, when you change your engine oil, you're also changing your transmission oil.
@@SOCALMOTOBROSthank you this was very confusing to me.
My pleasure
I have the exact spec, 2022 as well. Thank you so much for the video 🔥🙏🏼
What is the oil filter number you used?
Out of curiosity, did you low side crash during your first left turn after this? 😅
Nope
Don't you void your warranty by doing this?
Depends on the dealer your with
@@SOCALMOTOBROS Nice, never knew that 😅👍
Just a fyi, my yamaha dealer said they had countless new gen mts blown up caused by k&n oil filters deteriorating and breaking apart.
Oh really? That’s good to know
Always get the bike to operating temp before changing oil
Super basic and necessary
The chain after having it cleaned up should be wiped down after the sprayed water then apply chain lube.
What are those side grips
They’re techspec tank grips

Should I let the chain dry before applying the lube?
No you don’t have too. I just did mine the other day and I didn’t let it dry.
Thank you
lube on wet chain is not what to do
This brand of oil doesnt work too well on my bike, makes my bike feel rough

Good to know and I’m sorry that happened to you. Hopefully everything is good.
Hmm....Chain lube over a wet chain is not recommended! The remaining water will dilute the chain lube and cause rust!!
Not fully broken in man what are you talking about? You have to reach 1000 miles for it to be broken in. It’s in the manual!
You have never read the manual then
The manual says 600 miles on the first oil and oil filter change. That is to get rid of the break in oil. 60 miles or 100 km.

but a nice and shiny chain is epic
his filter has a hex head on it. Im sure him putting his arms strength isnt going to outweigh the smallest of ratchet wrenches.

I’ve used it in the past on the R6 but I did some research before doing my oil change and yamalube wasn’t very high on the list.
