when I heard he had heart attack in sleep, i guessed he was drug addict, now you say so too. Some people who make easy money fall in the trap of drugs. I knew a car salesman making a lot of money, quit his job not to make money to quit drugs
I bought so many products based on his videos. I was never disappointed. I too have hypertension heart issues. You really don’t have any symptoms other than I just don’t feel good. I had a heart attack and didn’t feel it. Silent heart attack is a weird thing but real. Reports of drug use doesn’t make sense. I don’t know about that. Heart stuff is far more believable. How many of us for years are told your BP Is elevated. Then nothing more. Maybe a diet and salt and water talk. But that’s all. He was trusted by many for good reason. One of a kind.
He was the face of oxi clean! He did a great job selling the product and it’s sad what addiction can do to even the brightest individual. He’s been gone for 15 years now and it’s just heartbreaking.
I enjoyed watching him. Even if I didn’t care what he was selling I still couldn’t stop watching. So sad that we lost him so young. 😢 ♥️🙏🏽♥️ He was the best!!
Why…am I just discovering he passed. I mean I probably knew & forgot but this is a shocker to me. He was apart of my childhood, always screaming at me through the TV lol.
According to Wikipedia the family said he had chronic untreated hypertension and he was scheduled for hip surgery the following day. These two things are incompatible because the pre-surgery testing would have revealed his high blood pressure and there’s no way they would do anything until it was under control.
@@longbeachmaumba7059 I don’t blame the guy. Addiction is rough. I fooled around but stopped in my thirties because I wasn’t satisfied with the quality available at the time. Good thing.
as a child & young adult, i grew watching him during vaction from school. did i want what he was pitching, no. but watching his panache, was all i needeed. what a great personality, he had!!!
Right, and to be honest, the products sold themselves. Really had nothing to do with Billy Mays, although he made a house hold name for himself. He also was smart for picking the right products to market which gave him more credibiility in the products. Oxyclean and Orange Glo were both bought out by procter and gamble. One of very few products that come from a infomercial to being bought out for millions.
The Orange Glo and Oxiclean are both great products. They really work great and the Orange Glo has a sweet smell. Great Job he did. So sad he passed so young 😢🙏🏻🕊️💔. May he RIP
Dam we all struggle with something, it’s unfortunate he passed, if anyone reading this is struggling with substance abuse please get help, your life is worth it.
I'm wondering why I'm seeing Billy Mays ads pop on tennis channel etc. Like what?! Is it even legal besides, imo, disrespectful. The man the legend is deceased. Can they let him rest? Wtf. RIP Billy!!!
He was great...Billy Mays here. I've been seeing his ads pop up and I'm perplexed. Why should they be allowed to do that. Hes gone. Idk if I should hate that or luv.
The 2000s were not complete without the sound of Billy Mays yelling at me through the television in my living room. He was, and in my opinion still is, a part of post-Cold War Americana. I hope he’s selling tons of tubs of Oxi Clean to all God’s angels in heaven. Вечная Память. ☦️🕯️
I was definitely watching his Pitchmen show on air when he passed away. I liked the show, your typical somewhat reality TV slop but it was Billy Mays. I wanted to see what he was like that wasn't JUST a pitch. It was a curiosity, he was a staple on TV. You couldn't go a day without that pitch energy. You know, if the worst thing people have heard about him is he died from head trauma + coke, then he wasnt that bad of a guy. He just liked coke, of course that doesn't mean he DIDNT do more but if it was prevalent enough and negatively effected enough people we would've heard about it. But when adding to the medication he was taking after his HIP replacement surgery with the coke, you can see how this could've gone off the rails had he not died early. Thats not to say he wasn't taking his medication appropriately, its just those powerful painkillers can be easily abused. Sometimes accidently. Had things continued, we might've either seen him spiral or go into treatment, but it would've been quietly unless like TMZ picks it up. I've had coke, a standard line doesn't give you that Pitchmen Billy Mays energy. The movies get it wrong, its not an immediate high. Then you tilt your head back and swallow a lot to absorb it more. That stuffs already expensive and doesn't last long, which is why you typically have to be pretty rich to have this on the daily.
We’re from McKees Rocks, PA, Billy’s hometown. His Mum and our family have been very close friends for decades. It is very unlikely that Billy used cocaine … He was a family man, very close to his Mum and Dad, and friends, this was just not in his upbringing, so I don’t buy into the toxicology report at all. Rest in peace, Billy. We love you ❤🙏🏻
Diane, I appreciate your reply. You would have to know Billy’s family the way we do. Billy was under tremendous amounts of stress. He loved what he did, and family and friends were his life. He would never harm himself. His family has a history of cardiac issues like ours. A few of his siblings passed from cardiac arrest in their 30s and 40s. Again, for us being lifelong family friends, it’s something only some of us would know for certain that he didn’t use any illicit substances.
If the family had issues with the toxicology report & the implication of cocaine use and the man has been dead for over a decade, why bring this back up?? Smh 😒
WTF are you talking about? 10 months later doesn't matter. Your comment remains stupid. Oxi-Clean was hardly the focal point of this video. I bet you have never watched the video. Changing the world is what I'm doing....calling out one MORON at a time.
Sounds like he had a struggle that the family didn’t know about and they couldn’t accept it. Never heard of anyone challenging a toxicology report before.
He was the greatest pitch man in American history. He could sell anything but never endorsed a product that was crap either because he was a moral person. A true legend was lost.
Rest In Peace Billy Mays.
🙏🙌
His commercials was loud as hell my tv used to be on 5 volume but when his commercial came on my tv magically went from 5 volume to 20
Omg this
His ads used to annoy me
When I’d see oxy at the store I just really didn’t wanna look at the product because it would remind me of the ads
LISTEN UP SOLDIER BILLY MAYS HERE WITH OXI CLEAN

He struggled with addiction..he was human and had flaws just like the rest of us..he was still a brilliant pitch man..RIP Billy Mays 💛
Anthony Sullivan has been doing a great job with the OxiClean commercials ever since Billy passed away but no one will ever replace Billy Mays

Can you imagine the amount of coke consumed to make those commercials
You know he was an icon when “South Park” did a parody of him on the “Dead Celebrities” episode. A fitting send off.
"In just two easy steps I can climb over there and kick you in the f%&king balls."
I knew he wasn’t naturally that excited about cleaning
...but wait...there's more!
He was a local celebrity here in Tampa Bay. When he passed, people covered a display of his products in Walmart with RIP comments and other notes.
Sad, but heartwarming to know people did this 🙏🏼
