Authentic Armenian food-YUMMMMY!!

Our good friends Jan and Lou made us the best care package ever. Armenian food we haven’t had in years. Delicious Armenian Basterma (cured beef), Choreg (twisted bread treats) and String Cheese. I can’t tell you how much this brings me back to the days of my youth, and the family gathering each Fall to make 100 pounds of this delish (Armenian Beef Jerky), mixing it by hand, and rolling it in homemade cheese cloth bags. Then we’d put it out in the shed to air-cure for many weeks, until it was ready to eat. As kids, we’d be eager to have that first taste of our heritage. So good, but we knew, don’t breathe too close to your friends, as the strong flavor of all those spices, packed a good punch. Thanks Jan and Lou, for being the best friends ever, and for bringing us back 40+ years, to our youth. Nothing better!!! Love you guys!
