For those who like to program drums using the midi editor it would be awesome if Pro Tools had a drum editor like many other DAWs have. Being able to make your own drum maps for third-party drum software is so convenient. It eliminates the guess work when programming the notes in the midi editor. Eventually I hope to see a midi drum editor, chord track, and chord pads so I don’t have to use multiple DAWs. Separate notes to different tracks is a workaround but it’s not preferable.
I'm new to all of this, and I've watched videos on just about everything with pro tools. This video has an incredible amount of info. I've been rewatching it and I learn something new each time. Thanks for sharing this. Its incredible. Well done Sir!
I've been working in Pro Tools tracking live strings for quite some time, but am brand-new to programming rhythm tracks. This is tremendously helpful -- thank you!
Simon, I always leave Link Timeline and Edit Selection and Link Track and Edit Selection enabled (for the most part), but I see you running with Dynamic Transport enabled while you work in the session. Would be great to see a video explaining when you choose to Link Timeline/Link Track VS using Dynamic Transport.
What version can I own as a novice learning this software. So I guess the diff versions give you different effects you can use and also more bigger sounds lib? What is the primary difference between versions?

Its a shame Grovecell is not included in Protools perpetual licenses, seems a good sequencer, can it be purchased individually?
and for the 808 to make glides etc. how do you geniuses do it? 2024 still no sampler like the other daw? are you guys serious ?and don't tell me to use kontakt
Simon... you just opened my world. I saw you do things that I need to go back and look at in slow motion, and learn. Thank you! Good stuff...

Yes that's a good idea for a video. I use Dynamic Transport when making music but switch to default timeline/selection link for mixing or video work.
I've started using pro tools as my main DAW. Would love to join the team. It's not a lot of producer representation for the DAW.
really really helpful thank you

This is brilliant
Hey, amazing vid, can I ask what BPM you where running the track at? Thanks Dave
Wondering if these sounds comparable to MPC and likes ?
What is the shortcut for fast copy paste like Comand+B like in Fl Studio?
Command D...
Groovecell sequencer is nice, but only one pattern makes it a bit useless. And it needs retrigs.
My pan settings are all defaulted to the Left side on the sequencer page. Why ? geez how annoying googles the solution ugh
is this on artist?
It is on it
Yea

why is nobody telling us how to make an empty patch ?
just grab a mpc! thats it! you don't need 50 plugins or any tricks..JUST THE MPC!
Or @FLSTUDIO!!
Please Color the Beats and make things easy
But you have to pay monthly to use groove cell….its not available if I just own pro tools….what a joke!
yeah it's not the nicest thing from avid
Make pro tools affordable again,,,, $35 a month is wild. We are artists not rocket scientists.
