- Make dye (paint) in Ark Survival Evolved. Spice up your dinosaurs or armor with colored dyes. It's easy to craft dye in Ark. Learn how to mix water, charcoal, and berries in a cooking pot to make dye. You can make all sorts of colors. Craft dye, then use a paint brush or a paint sprayer to dye your buildings, dinosaurs, and items. Customize your weapons, dinos, armor, flags, and your base. There's tons of dye colors to choose from and it allows a lot of great customization in Ark!

Cool, I had been wondering how this works. Also, I'm not sure if it's true or not but I heard that charcoal, sparkpowder and gunpowder each produce slightly different colors.
I haven't tinkered in awhile, but several modifiers will change shades. The options should all be here:

45k views and roughly 200 likes... it's so sad people enter a tutorial and learn something for then to leave the video without liking it. However shitty unprepared 30 minute gameplays have a thousand more likes.

I'm having some trouble with making dye but I used all the right ingredients, my problem is that when I light the fire the wood or thach that I use for the fuel just turns into charcoal. Do you have any suggestions on what the problem may be. I am currently using the ps4.
+jackson dantzler Use thatch or spark powder. It won't turn to charcoal since it won't make ash. I started doing this and it made my life a lot easier.

HELL YEAH. and guys if you wanna make pink or something use gunpowder instead of charcoal and put in tinto berries and stimberries that will make pink. you cant make combinations with charcoal it has to be gunpowder :D
Just be careful, the paint can hide bloody-ness / damage.

We just technically did. Killed the brood mother on easiest and unlocked the basics. Haven't built anything.
IMO the ark end game and bosses are beyond ridiculous and take the grind to absolutely absurd levels.

Are you using a GUI mod? That looks a lot different from what I use. Just started playing this game...
There's a ui scale slider or something in the graphics options. I like things bigger since I'm blind, so I cranked it up a bit.

For some reason I can´t make black dye I already put everything on the cooking pot but i just do not get anything out of it

Looks like you need charcoal and narcoberries.
I put both of those ingredients and even skins with water but nothing appears.

Try using thatch. Other fuels can make other byproducts on accident.

Make sure you have all the ingredients / dyes you need to get it to work. You can easily miss a fiber or something.
