    Had a no start problem on my cub cadet XT!, from running and mowing to taking a break, went back to mow...No Start?????? Checked all connections and the fuse at the battery harness. A friend stopped by and also suggested the fuse. Fuse showed no break (20A) . We put a piece of foil across terminals, plugged back in and it started. Even though the fuse looked good, a terminal was bad. Replaed fuse, all better. Just want to mention this to all that may experience a similar condition. Most YOU TUBE repair videos did not mention something like this, hope it helps all>

    I just LOVE my late model CC. However, it has a LOT of nooks and crannies under the dash, around the steering mechanism area. This is where I found my problem. Good battery, lights and hour meter, otherwise, nothing. This video told me to check the switch that gets depressed by the brake pedal and sure enough, it was CRAMMED with clippings. Got out the vac and cleaned everything well, and she started right up as it should. Sometimes its the simple things.....you just gotta know where to look!

    DO NOT grease the ring gear or bendix. It will get bunged up with dust and crap and wreck all of it in no time. Its meant to be dry.

    Looks like Cub Cadet now makes a real P.O.S ! That ignition switch is just plain dumb. As Taryl fixes all say's. It's a Lawn Mower, 'not' the Space Shuttle !🚀

      I bought my first new mower and it was a cub cadet and it has been one problem after another. Bolts missing, bolts almost falling off, deck all out of wack and parts breaking left and right. Between the parts being cheap crap and the piece of crap who put it together- I have a complete and total POS!

    The sad part is that new starting switch is $140 dollars +.

    my new 50" xt1 sat for a week not starting and here I was thinking that it was electrical. Yet, with mine, the automatic choke wasn't fully opening.

    Instead of all that elaborate work you could of done this instead. Either just make monetary contact with the 2 leads you connected to the 12v starter switch, because you had sufficient battery power on the mower. The second would of been, turn key on, jumper from battery positive to started positive connection and it would rank to start, quickly remove jumper. Or your way and all will work in a pinch.

      I agree what you thought, but with all the safety features it didn’t not allow you to do that. If you have one, you can try. Thanks

    I might have missed the end solutions....when or did you replace the key panel? And did that fix the issue?

    • @nongdantexas4478
      @nongdantexas4478  2 роки тому +3

      I think replacing the start panel will fix the problem (b/c it is the last piece). However, I have been using the mower by starting it externally to save some$. When everything is falling apart, I will rebuild them. Regard.

      @@nongdantexas4478 I am having the same issue (so it seems) I had change the starter and solenoid switch (plus battery is fine). When I try to start the mower the lights on the keypad work (there is a red light that indicates reverse cutting is on) but I get no power to the starter. Before I bought the new keypad component I figured I would ask. Thank you!

      I actually have this same issue right now. It's not the starter switch either cause I checked continuity of battery and start terminal on the switch and once actuated I show continuity. This stupid mower has a ton of safeties and I dont have a wiring diagram. I'm very suspicious of the interlock switch wired to the blade engagement lever but I'm not sure how to test it without a diagram. I may try your method but I really want to fix this thing.

      I have been starting the mower like that every time. It is inconvenient when It turns off sometimes, and I have to restart it. However, I will keep using it until I can’t, then I will replace the parts.

    I have the same Club cadet and it still won't start. We overpassed the syll annoyed. It's good, the headlights won't come on And the digital lights won't come on. What could be the problem ?

    • @nongdantexas4478
      @nongdantexas4478  Рік тому +1

      You should check all the wiring and connections first. Sometimes, mouses just go inside and chew the cables. If the wires are ok, we will have to do step by step to identify which part failing to fix or replace. Try not to leave this mower outside the rain. Water and moisture get inside the electrical system causing lots of problems. This mower has great engine but other parts are not reliable. You take care and be careful working on rotary equipment. Best regard.
