beautiful maple bonsai I really like it👍👍
Fantastic video thanks for sharing 👍
Cigar at 16:45 awesome!
Interesting. Great advice - videos like this give me confidence. I have an air-layered maple outdoors that I have allowed to go bonkers. It is a total mess and I need to structure and prune it. I might wait untill spring because I think that will reduce the chance of die back as the tree will be pushing out growth. With the leaves dropping its easier for me to see the structure better now. I did a radical prune once and got some bits if significant die back that scared me. The next time I pruned I used that gooey green sealent to prevent die back which seemed to work. I think I will wait until early spring after the tree has woken up when I can still see the structure and it is starting to push out growth. I hope that the maintenance will be easier once I establish a direction. Thanks again for posting this video, I will watch your others. Kind regards.
Don’t Acers ‘bleed’ badly if pruned in Spring?
@@judlpd maybe? I think that might be a good thing though as it prevents die back? I watched another video that recommended pruning in the growth season to avoid this? Other videos I have watched say it doesn't really matter and that any time is a good time? Descriptions of experience appreciated.
It takes a while to remove the leaves by hand. Storm Debi did it for me in no time. Nice ramification coming on that maple.
Smashing video, still scares me this autumn pruning😅
I am a new subscriber, your channel is very interesting, thank you for sharing.
Hi Graham, haven't seen this one yet but the last one with the other fella was a breath of fresh air...with some nicotine and beer ha ha.
Bonsai and a herf, what's not to love.
very beautiful❤️❤️❤️
What’s the paste called that you put on the tree wound after you clip a branch off?
Could you do another for spring pruning?
❤❤❤❤❤
👏👏👏
I have a very similar maple grow as a in ground bonsai. I need to shorten it by 6 “ and would like to cut it where it’s about 1” thick. Will I get any back budding ? And when is the best season ? Thanks
What are your thoughts on making a common-or-garden Canadian maple into a bonsai? I have brought a number of those from where they were cleared around a road. Can they make decent bonsai?
I always wire abs prune my deciduous at this time of year (November mostly) but still been trying to get my maples down pat. So there will be no bleeding or severe die back, pruning at this time of year? We’ve had 2 or 3 light frosts but aren’t consistent with temperatures like that yet.
I remember seeing this tree on your website with a nice Benicidori, do you still have that Beni? would you do the same pruning in early spring? Thank you for sharing.
I've now watched this video in its entirety three times and I'm worried there's something sadly wrong with me. Although the leaves add lots of colour and give the tree shape, I can't help thinking how beautiful the tree looks at the very end of the video. Quite stunning.
Could you do another video for Spring pruning Maples?
we tend to avoid any significant pruning of maples in spring because they are a high water mobility species and they'll bleed out a lot of their resources if cut in spring.
I'm ur fan...why took a long time to post???
Great video...would you apply these same Autumn techniques to Chinese Elm and Hornbeam?
Yes exactly same.
Thank you@@GrahamWPotter ...you always post valuable video and I have been following them for years...Cheers from Virginia, USA!
@@victortaboada2058Graham has a video on pruning Elm... Take a look.
Will do, thank you! @@Amphibian-kh1cf
