Billy marked my life since 1974, when I was an apprentice officer of the Spanish Merchant Marine. 19 years old and just after my first LSD, months earlier. He followed me as part of the soundtrack of my navigation on a cruise ship along main towns in the North and Baltic seas, up to Leningrad. Including my first hurricane. Then, in the Southern Hemisphere Summer, we also went to Antarctica, Islas Malvinas, Ushuaia, Beagle Canal, Magellan Strait and Punta Arenas, Patagonian channels up to Wellington Island and Puerto Eden. Also Carnival in Rio de Janeiro... Muchas chicas lindas aboard, disco, fiestas... And Billy, Pink Floyd with Syd Barret, Mahavishnu Orchestra, blues, Jazz... The good old times... ❤ Thanks, Billy, my brother. Love you!
What a fantastic story, my friend. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. Time passes, but the music remains. A big hug and keep following us for more great Billy records. Hello from Brazil.
@@demonsonmyleft With all my Love bro. Brazil was my first country to visit after I sailed away from Iberia, Spain and Lisbon, from where I departed to Santos, my first town abroad, and in Brazil 1973, then Paranaguá. And later voyages also to Rio, Sao Seabastiao, Ilheus, Rio, Recife, Sao Salvador da Bahía, Río Grande do Sul, Montevideo and Buenos Aires. As Meninas mulatas de Copacabana! Ah!😍 Y "Brazil" de Terry Gillian, his version of 1984, from George Orwell, was very significant to me. It is more or less the same dystopia nowadays. Horrible world. But music, always helps to expect humans to be worth living on this planet. So I wish you the best, brother. The new year, and every day till the last on Earth, for the present life at least. Salud y Amor!
What a beautiful turntable! I still have a couple and a sizable collection of vinyl albums. For some reason I like the crackling of the the record, watching it's rotation and the nostalgia of it. I started buying records in my preteens and have managed to take care of them and still have possession of them. To me there are few other sources of happiness than putting an album on the turntable and looking at the beautiful artwork and designs of that era. Long live vynal! ( Did I spell it right)? 😅
One of the most innovative Drummers ever.I got my first taste of his style of playing with the Mahavishnu Orchestra and his solo stuff such as Spectrum and Cross Winds.Awesome!👍
Soooo, how did this gem not eclipse the musical landscape and make it into the musical GOAT collection. Superb musicianship and compositional creativity. Thanks for dropping it.
