- I saw this gorgeous evergreen at a Proven Winners Creators event in November 2022 and was instantly smitten. What small space gardener wouldn’t love an evergreen that grows just 18” wide but reaches 15’-20’ tall?! Intrigued? Me too!
Say hello to STING! This arborvitae is hardy in zones 3-8 and perfect for tucking in small spaces where a little multi-season drama is in order. It’s like a giant exclamation point ‼️ in the garden.
Hi there! My name is Heather and I garden in zone 5b in the southwest suburbs of Chicago on a small residential lot. My garden lives a whole lot larger than it is and I love sharing tips and tricks, as well as plenty of mistakes, with others who love to play in the dirt.

Hi Heather 😊 I love Arborvitaes too!
I saw Laura from Garden Answer plant them last week. I can’t wait to get some. Please share where you end up planting them.
I didn't do a planting video but I will give an update in the spring. They're doing well so far!
How are they looking... did they do well thru the summer of drought? SE Wisconsin was brown grass by mid June.
I live in IL too, and I didn't notice us having a summer "drought". Sure, I did water as gardeners do, but not to any great extents. I don't remember "our" summer being such a Wonderful Summer before. Very pleasant!!
I didn't do a planting video but will be sure to share a status update in the spring. They've both taken well so far.
