I think the problem is the fact that gen 1 and frlg were before the physical special split cause Kingler was definitely a pokemon who benefited from the physical special split
@@ProfessorAlexSilver and in competitive though it was bad in gen 6 gen 7 blessed it with liquidation and it was banned from PU to have used where it was pretty good. This continued in gen 8 and at the start it was great in nu though it fell down to PUBL due powercreep but still can be often seen in nu
@@LegendaryCaptain surprisingly enough, Kingler’s peak in Smogon singles actually was in Gen 1. It had Crabhammer to destroy Rhydon and crucially 3HKO a Snorlax who had used Reflect, meaning that Kingler could force out a sleeping Snorlax. It was a hard Pokémon to fit on a team and really needed paralysis support to function at its peak, but it had some of the highest upside of any non-OU Pokémon in OU.
Of course, but it’s a really slow glass cannon, so you have to hope it can somehow survive the opponent’s initial assault which really isn’t fun because there are a lot of powerful electric and grass type moves that can end Kingler in a second
Kingler's battle against Mandi's team was one of my favourite pkmn battles ever. Krabby had been shown to be puny and weak, it had no experience, and it's foe had every advantage over it, making it a major underdog. But it still pulled off an upset victory, and then it evolved into a powerhouse strong enough to wipe out the rest of the team in a clean sweep. Ever since then Kingler's been one of my favourites.

Oak's lab pretty much functions as a Pokémon Day Care. Krabby's level was already high before fighting Mandy. That's why it evolved after winning against only one powerful Pokémon
I loved how krabby cuts ashes stick. Foreshadowing he was a menace. We thought he wasn’t bout that life when Gary’s was crazy big lol. I wonder why Ash did not nickname his crab Pokamon, he could have nicknamed it Mr. Krabs or Sebastian (both references to Spongebob's boss in Spongebob Squarepants and Ariel's crab friend in Little Mermaid)
Yeah, I also wondered why Ash never used his pokedex to exchange pokemon. He always did it at a pokemon center. Maybe they changed it to that because that's the way you always had to do it in the game. To switch pokemon, you always had to go to a pokemon center and log onto the PC to switch them.

Ash never using Krabby, Muk or Tauros. In the episode, "Showdown at the Poke Corral," Gary says he keeps rotating his pokemon so they all get a chance to battle and figures Ash hasn't been using his Krabby to battle and says with a sarcastic look, "I bet you use the same pokemon over and over, don't you?" Ash is a bit embarrassed because he knows that true. But later on, in the Johto League, he started rotating his pokemon more. I don't blame Kingler for its losses. Both were on Ash. He over-tired Kingler, and should have realized going for Psyduck's head was a bad idea. If Ash was a bit smarter Kingler could have been Ash's only undefeated Pokemon.
Kingler certainly deserved more screen time as the colossal crustacean managed to sweep through an opposing trainer’s entire team. And most certainly would’ve been a better choice for Ash to use against his friendly rival Ritchie though did make friends with Ash’s second crustacean Pokémon, Corphish.

I first witnessed Ash's Kingler in the Whirl Cup, where he showcased his mastery over ki, and the Kamehameha wave... And was promptly robbed by Misty's Psyduck going Super Sayan... I later saw its first debut, where he just wrecked everyone... Been in love with this Pokemon ever since.

Imagine if kingler was in the Johto and sinnoh league, that would’ve been great he would’ve racked up some amazing wins
Kingler vs Shuckle would be cool
I first witnessed Ash's Kingler in the Whirl Cup, where he showcased his mastery over ki, and the Kamehameha wave... And was promptly robbed by Misty's Psyduck going Super Sayan...
I later saw its first debut, where he just wrecked everyone... Been in love with this Pokemon ever since.
One of the best reserves Ash ever had that's for sure
