We have a 2014 Captur in the family. A few weeks ago I was at a not-so-local dealer and they had a current Captur and Kadjar in their showrooms. The Kadjar looked and felt as if it was from several classes above
I have the 162 Dynamic S Nav version and I really love it. I would love to see a review of the Renault Koleos to see the difference in your opinion as they are alot more expensive to buy. My Kadjar does 5.1 km/100 around small to big roads on the 1.5 model. Lovely to drive and is a great family car too.
Bob I bought last year model, Had you mk7 golf's before it. Personally build quality is "good" and it returns 4.4l per 100km out of it 15 diesel engine. Very happy, was badge snob but not anymore
Nothing to do with the badge, Renault has a good badge. I like the Kadjar and it'll make great sense to buy one. That infotainment system drives me nuts though.
1.5dci with 110hp have same issue with turbo lag. I belive the turbo itself is "too big" so before its start boosting nothing happens. My cure for it is to rev the engine a bit higher, so with the next gear im always slightly over 2k revs, which is perfect. 90hp version in mk3 megane have no turbo lag, i belive there is no variable geometry and turbo is smaller
I was a bit confused when he said that cause in Portugal you get them with tCE engines 140/160hp and the 1.5 dCi 115hp, thought it would be the same in Ireland 🤔
Dont like the rear lights are LEDs if u get a brake light out , its change the lamp unit , expensive even 2nd hand , only the Indicator can be changed by Bulb
I had that 1.5dci in a grand scenic and remember my Mrs saying the car was broken as it was so slow before the power came on. But I can confirm you do get use to keeping in the turbo boost range and it’s fine
Hard to beat what the VW group has to offer but this isn’t a bad effort from Renault. Still don’t get the SUV craze and will never beat a proper saloon or hatchback for driving dynamics, stability etc.
Howya Bob, was it the ranger or some randomer telling you not to film there? There are signs up saying not to film but I always thought it was around the camp. Not a fan of that Renault
Bob, I think you’ve mixed up its competitor class...it’s in the same bracket as the Quashqai (or however the hell its spelled 😄). The Renault that “competes” against the Kodiac/Terraco etc is the Koleus.
Ah Quality review as always Bob. Remember getting a spin in a 645 off you many years ago at a boards.ie meet. Had a Talisman recently as a hire car, and I reckon it's a shame they never brought it over here. I understand why they didn't, but I was impressed by it. As with most French cars, it was ridiculously comfortable. But agreed about the infotainment system. It was similar on it to the Kadjar, and was just not intuitive at all.
Must be nearly 10 years ago alright. Haven't been on the motors section for a long time. I don't know of any of the old community from when I was there are still around. Still a few good build threads going though.
If you would like to fund the purchase of a new drone or hire a drone operator with a really fast drone here's how you do that www.paypal.me/BobFlavin 😂
Bob, so many of your reviews i have wathced because you are kind of funny and passionate to a certain degree..but really..I woudn't hurry to call you a proper motorjournalist just judging on the level of Information you seem to be lacking and not having gone through before and în the whole process of reviewing a car or another...
Ahh... don't be negative. I believe Bob is one of the best. He is not kowtoweing to the motor manufacturers and distributors like other reviewers. He is honest and if a person wants detailed information about any car there are loads of other sources. "Bob is Best" (and he didn't pay me to say that !!!!)
If you watched Bob's Sunday Service live streams where people ask him questions for two hours you would realise that Bob REALLY knows his stuff! AND he's one very GOOD guy into the bargain and delivers all his you tube output with good humour and without fuss. Yes' he may not at times impart the same info in his car reviews that other more predictable reviewers do but he has his own relaxed, informal and in a way typically Irish style which maybe you don't appreciate. There are are plenty of other reviews to watch if you don't like it.
See Radu, I could be the "same" as the rest of them and have the torque vectoring and output figures but anyone can read that from a press release, it's lazy and pointless. If you want that kind of review there's a multitude of them that have fallen by the wayside and some that are still going. I try to bring a different slant to things, fun but you get the info stuff. I don't have a crew, researchers, producers or anyone else to help just me and my camera. These are the reasons I am a reviewer, I couldn't care less about titles as there's a load of fans who want the truth and not some script written by the PR of a car company, someone who reads between the lines and really questions the value they are given. If you don't want that, it's ok I won't be offended but, if you want some press release reader I'm afraid you'll have to keep looking.

Great review, absolutely love this guys delivery. I could watch anf listen to him for hours . 🇬🇧
Going to forget the rest and going to buy one based on his review.
had the 2017 Kadjar for two years and agree completely with you, nice review!
You loved that kadjar Bob!!
The enthusiasm and happiness of just been in the car was flowing out of you 🤣
Darren
Thanks very much Darren!
Bob You are a machine, a legend and a great youtuber. Love the videos Cheers Gerry
Cheers Gerry, we still have to meet up for that cuppa!
Bob, i likes your presentation, and also the country side, beautiful Ireland. .

Bob you forgot about the gearbox but I know what you were going to say, Vague and loads of play in the gears.

I still don’t understand why Renault hasn’t launched this in Aus. Looks like a genuine contender here. Great review 👍🏼
joe fattal because our market is already flooded with these cars..
Because Renault doesn't have sufficient manufacturing capacity
Loving this review, Bob! How come you weren't allowed to film on the Curragh?
A safety womble came to tell me to stop but he soon went away when I explained that I wasn't stopping 😂

Only diesel???? Seems very short sighted. Great review as ever Bob. 👍🏻

Have a 152 model really like it except for the cup holders which are too shallow and not wide enough for a decent water bottle.
Great car Barry I don't like the Renault infotainment system but other than that it does nothing wrong.
@@BobFlavinVideo ,
Yeah we're happy with it, I find if ya turn off the Eco button the AC works much better.

The 3008 is so much better looking, Peugeot now make the best looking interiors and probably exteriors too.

A bit big words for "most affordable" when Dacia Duster is in market..
Are you rally comparing a high end French car to a Romanian jeep?
Bob, I think you’ve mixed up its competitor class...it’s in the same bracket as the Quashqai (or however the hell its spelled 😄).
The Renault that “competes” against the Kodiac/Terraco etc is the Koleus.
They are all blurring into one these days, there's really nothing between them. I wish we could go back to distinct cars!
Absolutely! Don’t get me started on the VW “T” series, I gave up on that a long time ago! 😄
what about road and tire noise??
Ah

Great review bob are u going to test the peugeot 5008 anytime soon
Hmm 5008 out for over a year now, is there a new one coming?
@@BobFlavinVideo what do u think of the 5008 bob
KadJAR. Persian Royal Bloodline.
SSANGYONG xlv tivoli is same size, 7000 euro cheaper, at least.
Jeff but it's still a Ssangyong...and they are amongst the ugliest cars ever built!
@@officialWWM yeah, but this is one ugly car too...
Jeff lol, that's a very good point!
@@Jeff-rz9cv I definitely would not call this car ugly!
the 1.2t is underpowered for the size
It's a Renault 'tadger' Bob.
When is that speedier drone coming.

Best. Reply. Ever
Who gives a flying feck what type of plastic is used in the lower half of the dashboard of a family car???
I wouldn't look twice at this car even if it ran me over :/
Captur is still better looking

Renault are one of the worst car makers ever.
I don’t thick so I got a kadjar a great car great on fuel and comfortable what more do you want
Talking bollocks. I had a Clio which was fantastic, just brought a Kadjar amazing.
Just my opinion
