  • At the age of eighteen, Roy Michael joined the marine corps reserves in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was activated for service in Korea on July 31, 1950, and served as a rifleman in the Able Company, Third Platoon, Second Squad, Second Fire Team and participated in the Inchon Landing and in taking Hill 1081. While in Korea, Roy suffered severe frostbite to his hands and feet. Upon returning to the States, Roy was assigned to Key West, Florida where served as a member of the drum and bugle corps. He passed away on January 21, 2013.
