This is the last Bomberman game out of the four titles released on the Nintendo 64. You can view them all in the playlist now. This is supposedly a sequel to Bomberman 64 but it plays a lot differently. Besides all the extra dialogue and cutscenes that newer games always seem to have, the gameplay is also very different. The game has a bunch of planets, each featuring a boss. You'll be given a new bomb type after each boss kill. You don't really need all bombs to complete the last planet, but by having all of them, you get to face the true final boss and true ending. So just like with all Bomberman games, this game also has a bad ending and a true ending.... although this time it doesn't have some ridiculously difficult requirement attached to it (which is probably the reason why I like it so much). There's also Guardian Armour in the game which gives you permanent upgrades like kick bomb or remote bomb so those help a ton. I hated the Bomberman games but this one was REALLY fun. The graphics are good, the difficulty is not frustrating and I just really enjoyed the idea of these longer type of levels each featuring a boss. Possibly best of all is the fact that you have unlimited lives. Dying puts you back at the beginning of the stage but you don't actually lose progress in the stage. You get three continues to save your powerups and if you run out of those you'll restart with no powerups left each time. I really liked how they handled that. For a game that's 18 years old, this is still fun to play today (which can't be said about many N64 games).
I used to have this game as a kid. My brother and I got it for Christmas back in 2000. Got it with a purple N64. We played it for years and years, I was always Pommy though. Couple years ago my brother pawned off basically all of our retro systems and games without my knowledge and it pissed me off. It pisses me off even more so finding out how rare this puppy is now lmao. He even bought me a repro cart just to shut me up, but it just isn't the same.
Correct me if I am wrong. But this is the 3rd game for n64. I can't seem to find anymore than 3 in the wiki list. Unless the late/early hours are fucking up my vision and reading skills 😂
@@berkpwn Yeah, I can imagine how upsetting that must have been. My parents threw away things like game boxes that I had as a kid that definitely hurt the value of some of my games, but I never owned a game that is worth nearly as much as this one currently is.
I looked through this dudes playlists and I am thoroughly impressed with the organizing by system. I like watching these videos but they also seriously help me sleep at night. So thanks for uploading I really appreciate it :D
Thanks Yoshi-P for putting a story written like a JRPG epic, involving cosmic entities of the creation and destruction of multiverses as well as characters named after western religious and mythological beings, resulting in Bomberman facing off against an Angel of Destruction representing both Light and Shadow in order to save his universe from being erased from existence, into Bomberman lore.
This and bomberman 64 were staples of my childhood gaming. It would be incredible if Nintendo realized that people would play the crap out of a bomberman game that isn't just the mutilplayer stuff. The character designs for this game were so cool. The villians looks, the gameplays feel and QoL upgrades and how the villians/bosses moved and their bomb types being up for grabs made me love it more than the first one though.
@@ShinkuGouki yea man I miss those games. If they could let us design our own bomber hero and use those boss designs from 1 and 2, I would be all in. Those games was awesome and then they destroyed the story part for the multiplayer only. Multiplayer is fun don't get me wrong but story mode was awesome too
@@gothxm I had played many Bomber Man games before and they were all the same,no story mode and just puzzle-solving,boring. Then I played Bomber Man 64 and I was hooked. The puzzles were Integrated into a cool story with cool looking villains and the progression felt so rewarding. I think we're due for a new Bomber Man,I just hope they give us a good story and not just another puzzle game.
If only everyone could be rescued the way Pommy gets saved by simply pushing the up C button on the N64 controller to teleport him to wherever Bomberman is, even when he gets sucked in by a gravity bomb.
I have no words for it...I absolutely love this game. It was the first time my bro and I got through the entire world except for Noah...after a few years later, I finally beaten the game at last! If you lose the battle against Lilith/mihaele instead of getting a gameover Bomberman is resurrected and instead of fighting the Angel as the final boss you instead fight Sthertoth's final form, which is a much harder battle. Afterward the ship starts to self destruct and lilith/mihaele teleports bomberman and pommy to their ship and sacrifices herself to stop Sthertoth
Cosmos, Void, Chaos, Sthertoth(which I believe is pronounced Sephiroth)... am I watching Bomberman or a very strange alternate version of Dissidia Final Fantasy, lol.
Ok so I'm at the end where I need to place ice bombs in the lava. For some reason, the ice is too low when I reach the platforms on either side. What am I doing wrong?
58:02 I keep experiencing a glitch in this room where the stairs are not pointed downwards creating a gap. I am playing on an actual cartridge that is authentic. I tried taking out the expansion pack and using a jumper pack to no avail. I tried starting a new file. Nothing works. Is there something I am doing wrong? Has anybody else encountered this?

If anybody else has this problem the trick is to freeze the fountain in the room below and then throw a regular bomb on it.
i remember seeing a pommy evolution chart, but i don't know anyone who got past the first stage, let alone see animal pommy
Is this game available in the Nintendo e-shop? Or is the only way to play by way of roms and the original n64 cartridge?
