Max isn't dumb.. he has too much experience and understanding of the himself and opponents to stand in the middle with Ilia in the first 10 seconds. He'd most likely lose that exchange because of his build and fight style (of course he could win the exchange too) but the odds are, when Ilias completely fresh, fast, 100% strength, that's the biggest chance Max's loss. Max should and most likely will drag this to 5 rounds, if he successfully manages to make Ilia miss and get tired while avoiding his k.o punches, he'll find the moment where he knows they can stand in the middle and finish the fight (When Ilias exhausted, has less power and slowed down).
