Shannon sounds hypocritical telling JB its not the end of the world if some source is talking bad about you but hes responding on Twitter and hos show about people talking about him
A whole lot of folks got told by ESPN to shuck and jive on thia topic. The original quote that Stephen A. has repeated multiple times attacks JB's character as a man. The unnamed source falls just shy of calling him an uppity n-. The sourse is quoted as saying JB thinks hes superior to everyone around him. And that's not new. The biggest "knock" on Jaylen's scouting report was that he may be "too smart" for basketball. Something that was brought up in the interview. Inagine that. Imagine telling Andrew Luck he was too smart to play football. No one had any issue praising his intelligence. Brown has been pursued by NASA multiple times, he has taught Robotics courses at MIT and Harvard. And is an avid chess player. Not exactly what people are told to expect from a kid from Georgia. The Source could care less about why JB didnt have endorsement deals. The Source wanted to attack him as a man
I do believe Jaylen is right about unknown sources being cowards, if you say something put your name behind it and face what you say, this isn't a legal issue or bringing down a government with the comments. Also Molly cutting off and speaking over Shannon towards the end is a problem. I don't think she realizes people don't tune in for her opinions or takes, but that of the insiders and former pros like Shannon. Her job is to direct the conversations and keep the show on time.
Putting one's name to something doesn't necessarily make them credible. Some people have lied through their pearly whites while attributing their name to something they said. There are some news and sports stories that wouldn't have been broken without anonymous sources.
The anonymity is vital though because people have their livelihoods to protect. How do you think the execs feel right now that we know how they be treating JB? If the source was revealed we would know exactly who the culprits and they would end that source's career. And all of you are looking at this the wrong way. I think it gives Jaylen even more power because this didn't come from his camp, but all us fans now know why he's been snubbed for All-NBA and the Olympics.
@ashokathegreat4534 he isn't grassroots like them but is addressing some of same subject matter. I'm saying unlike what happened to those influential people, I rather media give Jaylen his flowers now while he still young and thriving

Tbh the idea that Jaylen is unmarketable is ridiculous to me. He's everything i pray young men(but young black men especially) will strive to be. The fact that he not only excelled as an athlete but as a scholar, and a person makes him an admirable role model. More importantly The fact that the league finds that story to be "unmarketable" says a lot about what the league thinks its consumers want out of their athletes.

Side Note: To Shannon point Muhammad Ali was bigger than the sport, he may of loss 3 years of his prime but the world changed due to his stance. Every BLACK person throughout history standing for change was hated for wanting equal treatment, if you are liked and loved by the powers that be then you are not fixing anything. @@McFlyGod Not about getting likes, if you all are cool with the way the world is just so a few make money then cool. There is slight truth to it, I think of Tim Duncan. One of the greatest players of all time, but he's intelligent and articulate and a winner, yet he wasn't marketable. Not sure why but it is what it is.
In today’s age of transparency, I applaud Jaylen Brown for his stance. The idea that someone can be ‘too smart’ to be marketable highlights the ignorance that corporate America often relies on to exploit and perpetuate stereotypes in our community.

Shannon sounds hypocritical telling JB its not the end of the world if some source is talking bad about you but hes responding on Twitter and hos show about people talking about him
The issue with SAS is reporting things that he himself doesn’t know to be true or not, only coming out of the journalist’s mouth.

The Source wanted to attack him as a man
Agreed
Well said
Teaching robotic classes at MIT and Harvard, and being pursued by NASA is quite impressive
Comparing an unnamed source calling Jaylen Brown unmarketable to what Muhammed Ali went thru is crazy work.

People hate on molly but 7:45 is exactly why you need someone like her on the show
I do believe Jaylen is right about unknown sources being cowards, if you say something put your name behind it and face what you say, this isn't a legal issue or bringing down a government with the comments.
Shannon,SAS and Windhorst dont realize King,Ali and other black leaders became beloved AFTER they suffered for what they stood for

JB and JT are great guys in different ways. JB is a smart guy, and active in his community, and just seems like a solid dude. JT has welcomed fatherhood with open arms and seems like a down to earth guy. The Celtics are in good hands.

This is literally why I have no respect for Stephen A. he claims he has respect for Jaylen Brown and others but clearly he rather protect "His" sources, but the more we think Stephen A may actually be the source and he is just saying certain things he is not brave enough to say out of jealousy.
