The concern isn't so much about naming your source. The concern has to do with the impact you have on another man's earning potential and more importantly his character when you report something like this. The initial report suggested Jaylen Brown WAS an unlikeable arrogant diva man. Now that narrative is being softened. I wish more care was given when this whole drama started because it seemed like around that up to and through the Olympics Jaylen Brown was presented a negative light. It appears to me, careless reporting gave legs to a negative narrative surrounding a dude who is an impressive ball player and a high character intellectual. If SAS gets in an uproar when KD says he hopes Draymond gets the help he needs, I wonder why SAS didn't hesitate to report the way he did about Jaylen Brown and even get worked up about it when Brown and Isiah Thomas challenged him on his reporting. It doesn't make sense. This should have been handled better. But hey! At least you protected your source. Good looking out...well sort of.
Simply put brands don’t want to attach themselves to woke individuals. If you take too much of a political stance then that’s not good. There is slight truth to it, I think of Tim Duncan. One of the greatest players of all time, but he's intelligent and articulate and a winner, yet he wasn't marketable. Not sure why but it is what it is.
Yea you do...
I would rather find 50 bucks on the ground vs watching tim duncan play on a Tuesday night.
Did Stephen A Smith say all this to Jaylen Brown when he was on his show?
He did
Everyone understands these great men were hated but the fact Shannon may not be as willing to sacrifice career goals for personal ones doesn’t mean he should warn someone 17 times the same thing over and over it feels like he’s projecting his own feelings.
Look at the WORM. Wiggle😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
These guys make it out like he's sacrificing so much. The dude has a $300 million dollar contract. Wow! Such sacrifice! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
what’s he crying about he is a champion…this should be under him…shows story maybe true
He is an oppressed millionaire and people really go for this.. I think he's a young man who's heart is in the right place but thinks he smarter than he is..
Jaylen simply can’t be controlled. He’s highly educated & doesn’t just go for anything
Why would SAS put his source out there like that...and still expect them to speak to him again???... That's not how that works....solid interview doe....
We have no unity what so ever
Saying unnamed sources to me blankets your own opinion.
Good looking out...well sort of.
saying its “journalism”is a weak excuse if you can’t name the source don’t repeat what was said that simple
Jaylen brown proved no point😂😂
He rights though. They are a bunch of cowards for not wanting to be named by SAS.
@@Beginning-l3s okay, they are cowards...
who cares
Simply put brands don’t want to attach themselves to woke individuals. If you take too much of a political stance then that’s not good. They want you to be a blank canvas without a serious image, so they can fit you into whatever they want. But Jalen should understand that. If he doesn’t then he isn’t as smart as he thinks he is.
Or maybe you aren't as aware as you think you are.
He seems to think he can call out Nike or Addidas and they have to still mess with him or something.
Molly bruh shut up. What's the lady that was there last week
As far as "keeping it real" goes.....this was a very mild "call out"
Get rid of Molly she has no charisma and is boring.
Not too mention that annoying voice
Molly is the only one not afraid of the bark of Stephen A, keeps him in check, the ego maniac.
Y'all just follow the crowd. It's cool to say bad things about Molly. But I never even notice her. You mfs are here to watch her instead of sports talk. Y'all are a bunch of loser men. And you don't even know it yet.
@@mdsoulsoundsshe says nothing of value it’s just yapping
He articulates himself so well.
He’s a legit genius. Look up his educational background
@@joseromero81 he's not lol. But he definitely thinks he is.
The bar most be low.
@@spacecowboy2127 You don't even know what a genius is yourself. You think it's someone who processes information fast and uses big words. That's what poor people usually think.
Funny how he doesnt call SA a coward just his sources lol this tv game is wild
I'm with Jalen Brown on this. No one expects a reporter to name their sources but at the same time as the source if ur going to attack someone's character like that u should stand on it and put ur name behind it. It's cowardice
I agree.
Regardless the “unnamed source” was incorrect. They were looking to blackball him and spread the false narrative that he was in marketable. These “journalists” just appear to be on their payroll
Shannon is just the type of guy that will sell his soul for money
They all are
Only the certain people can decode this conversation!
We live in a time where everything is about a dollar... it provides cool tech, but ot gets exhausting
I don't believe the Celtics offered JB and D White to Brooklyn for KD. I don't care who the source is!
The "unnamed source" is a coward. If he knows this man is being held down for his intelligence and not going along to get along, he needs to expose the powers that be. Piling on about the perceptions they have doesn't benefit Jaylen, and he has a right to be upset. Stephen A should have thought about that before reading that text.
The best journalists make a living by establishing circles of informants. Often times, a condition to the agreement is that they remain anonymous. People always wanna attack the media for doing their job.
Steven A if you don't think it's breaking news Madison Ave feels the way they do then why did you bring it up on national tv in the first place? My eyes are open, I can see what your really doing!
I’ve rooted for Brown every since they finals against the warriors. I’m a warriors fans and for the life of me couldn’t figure out why they constantly force Tatum on us through the mainstream media when clearly Brown was the alpha or the dog on the team he was the only one putting up a fight Tatum was basically invisible out there. I thought it was bittersweet to see Brown get finals mvp last season he deserved it no matter of media pushing Tatum because he’s light skinned lol 😂
He shouldn’t have to WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP in order to defend his character windy
Shannon you’re out of line tap dancing for the man.
Jaylen gotta find a crew he can talk to in private tho. none of this stuff needs to be televised. its not effective
A source is just a source without the PLATFORM. That's the point! The 'platform' just so happens to be the biggest one in the sports world. So when that 'platform' gives credibility to the source by vocalizing the sources opinion as if it's established market knowledge? I have to just accept that and not challenge the credibility of the source?? What world are we living in these days😂
10:08 Shannon starts grabbing the invisible rope
What a soft guy 😂😂
Jaylen brown is not marketable
I like Jaylan brown but i don’t think he understood what sas was saying.
