    I’m having this refrigerator delivered next week. We have bad water where we live so we won’t have the ice maker hooked up. We’ll add bought ice to the ice maker bin and fill our glasses that way. Another reason to not hook up the water is because most issues start with the waterline leaking or the ice maker over icing and leaking. Hope I have no problems. Bought the extended warranty just in case.

    Great review! I am interesting in this fridge, can I ask how easy to connect the water line to water/ice dispenser? Just "unscrew" the pipe from the old fridge and connect it to the new fridge? I know Costco will not do this part when they deliver. Any insight will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

      I had my water line unplugged from the old fridge when Costco came. They delivered the new fridge, brought it in, unpacked it, and connected the water line before putting it into place. When I bought my dishwasher from Costco, they delivered it but since the dishwasher didn't come with an outlet cord, they offered to have an electrician come the next day to install it. most likely they will connect it for you, but if they don't, it is a simple twist on and off pipe line.

      After over a year, it's been excellent. Changed the filter for the water once, it was $45 from lg website. Other than that, no maintenance, no worries. Just an excellent refrigerator that's 100x better than a Bosch that cost 3x more expensive. Honestly, I don't have anything bad to say except for something super weird.. when the power goes out due to an outage and turns back on, the water supply leaks a little. It's weird even though it's a little big of water.

      @@TheStrivering I bought the same exact lg today and await delivery on Friday, crossing my fingers! I’ll have to admit I’m a bit nervous as there are dings with pretty much every refrigerator manufacturer. The design is practical and ticked most of my boxes, I’d rather have 2x freezer drawers model but that model is a tad too big for my space. The 10 year warranty thanks the class action lawsuit and NY Times saying most people seem to be happiest with LG solidified my decision. Even in your example, expensive brands like Bosch don’t fare much better.

    • @TheStrivering
      @TheStrivering  Рік тому

      With ice, there's no problem. Just the usual. Ice first then liquid. With water, it has high pressure. Which is good but take time to get used to. For example tilt the short cup when pouring water so it curls in instead of shooting up. Also if there is like half a cup of water and your adding water, the stream will splash against the water and come out. But under normal circumstances, it doesn't spray weird or anything.

      I had a Bosch refrigerator before this one, that one was probably 3 times more expensive and broke within in a few months. Bosch showed the worst customer service and wouldnt take the fridge back. Instead they would schedule a repair company to come to fix the fridge. For over a year they would schedule the repair, 2 weeks later they come to diagnose and leave to order the part. 4 weeks later it comes. 2 weeks later they come. after rebuilding the fridge in my kitchen, 1 part at a time, it was finally deemed unrepairable and they paid me back for the fridge. After that experience i figured i can buy a new LG every month and it will last me longer than a Bosch and save me money. lol
      but no, the LG is awesome. its coming up on two years old and no problems. I wanted to sue Bosch but then saw how much lawsuits they have open and their tactic of prolonging court till the customer just drops it, and decided that wasn't the right way to go.
