Back in 1992 I was serving as a Personnel Sergeant with your dad then SSG Harrison at Ft. Sam Houston. He was so proud when you got drafted to Orlando his smile was as wide as my office door. You came back to Ft. Sam for a minute, and we shared a table at the NCO club with some friends and had a great evening being young and focused on dreams and goals. Well Blue Chips was a good movie but the rest of his movies well pretty bad. And the least said about Shaq Fu the better. Although the new Shaq Fu is pretty good :)
I dedicate this to my grandfather, who even wasn't my biological grandfather . This was my grandmother's second husband . He never had any children by his first wife. So when he met my grandmother she had my mother and later our mother had my sister and I. She was a Teen Mom. So my pop pop is the only pop pop I've ever known. He helped raise me and my sister and showed us what a real marriage is between a man and a woman who truly love and respect each other. And he loved my mother as if she were his own daughter. He passed away in 1999, and we truly miss him, and the funny thing is my grandfather always encouraged me to stay positive about my father and to forgive him. Which played a large role later in life even though my grandfather passed away in 1999 my biological father wind up back into my life in 2002 and giving me away when I got married in 2005 and I named my youngest son after my pop pop. I had 10 good years with my biological father before he passed 2012. It's so true that God works in mysterious ways. Rest in peace, Ronald deal 😢❤ #Mymalerolemodel
My bio dad left when I was 1 month old, my brother was 4, it broke his heart and I'll never forget it. Someone else stepped in and was 10 times better than him. Biology never matters.
I had my pops for 19 years 6 months 14 days 13 hours and 10 minutes... After he passed I had a man name Tom Ledesma who took a black kid in gave him the skills to become someone that now as a 47 year old man ... whose a step parent to 4 girls... BEST JOB I could've EVER did ... Alisha Christah Tiffani Brandy... Hard times great times 11 grandkids later they blessed me beyond anything i could've asked for
I just played this song for my little sister(25)....I told her the 90's was the best era and she agreed, I'm 44 and it's hard to listen to a lot of this new age music.... everything sounds robotic.....keep my music soulful and emotional always 🤗
I can feel for this man. Left my biological dad when I was younger due to abuse with alcohol. My momma met my step dad and it all changed after that. I am entering adulthood and I have learned a bit from my step dad. I have a lot of respect for my step father and his example.
Used to get clowned on as a kid for listening to Shaq. Looking back, he's definitely the best athlete to have rapped and his songs hold up even in 2023. Love to reminisce with tracks like this gem. An anthem for the many who were abandoned by their fathers.
The song relates to me in so many ways. I was raised by the most wonderful Stepfather in the world. RIP Simon Mokoena and I will forever thankful for what you have done.
My step dad came into my life at 20, and he's a better dad than my bio. I love that man with my whole heart. Actions, not blood, make a true parent. He treats my mama, brother, and even my dog like they're all that matter.
Totally understand. My stepdad is my DAD better than my old man. My dad was married before, never had kids but remarried my mother try to raise us well and has patienced. I loved him and missed so much.

the guy in 0:54 is my English teacher Mr. Gardner. He showed us a signed photo of him standing next to Shaq for proof of him being in the video, same dress shirt and haircut. He said it was because he was a history teacher in Florida. cool guy, he made me interested in literature and was one of the most exciting ppl to talk to.
