  • Are you allergic to pets? I know how you feel. I was the cleaning lady allergic to dogs and would get a headache. But you still have to clean even if you're allergic to pets.
We Ask a House Cleaner about maids and pet allergies, airborne allergens and what to do if your nose itches. Or is it watery eyes and hypersensitivity to pet dander? House cleaning is no fun when you're allergic to pets.
Angela Brown, The House Cleaning Guru shares tips on apple cider vinegar and lemon juice. End that sneeze, wheeze, cough, and flu-like symptoms. Your air filters (lungs) and immune system will thank you.

Just got a cat before yesterday. I get itchy burning hands itchy nose eyes and swollen eyes and lips that get sore. So I have to take an antihistamine and wash my hands after touching my cat. However I might re-sell her as it’s just not comfortable.

Number 1 job for your son is to brush the dog outside a nice bonding job for a kid to brush the dog and older kids can bathe the dog that will stop you reacting while brushing or washing the dog and both those things will help your allergies but doing them yourself will flare up your allergies I hope you can manage cos pets are such a good thing for kids my dad was allergic to cats and let us have one with certain rules and responsibilities bless him he had to live in allergy medication but we loved that cat sooooo much

From what I understand, the allergen load eventually reaches a maximum, and that is when you experience the very worst of your allergic symptoms. After it will start all over again, building and building. Basically this happens in perpetuity as long as you are being exposed chronically.

@@AskAngelaBrown I started drinking your mix it really helps my sinuses and I just got covid a few days ago and started drinking more of it and it’s helping with that too I do find that I have to gargle with something like baking soda or a bit of mylanta or take a tums antacid to neutralise the acid from the vinegar on my teeth as drinking a lot of this and letting it sit on teeth can cause damage to them while I’m having a lot of it right now with covid I find it works better with warm water which is pretty bad tasting but the heat and the concoction really eases my congestion and throat pain. The gargling with a little baking soda also tastes gross but it’s cheap lol also baking soda and non iodised salt is what is used in nasal/sinus rinses so if people are really suffering using a sinus rinse 3 teaspoons of sea salt or himalaya salt just not table salt and 1 tsp baking soda is the same as those little sachets of sinus rinse powder people pay a fortune for and is a great natural way to rinse any trapped allergens from sinuses which is an old allergy trick that cuts down on reactions if people cannot avoid allergens like with hay fever symptoms the ratio of this powder mix is 250ml warm water to 1/2 tsp of this mix you can make it weaker or stronger depending on how you cope with it. Then follow the instructions on the neti pot or sinus rinse thing you have also called nasal rinse it just means you can make your own solution to put in the neti pot it’s extremely effective if your all clogged up with a cold or flu or allergies and it’s a great way to cut down on your reactions to allergies you can’t avoid if you do it once a day

Is it ok to ask a home owner to put their pet into another room when I go to clean . I am trying to start my own cleaning business and I have a great fear of especially dogs due to being bitten before. When I cleaned for another agency in the past they told me to never ask a home owner to put their pets in another room as their pets are like family. i do understand this as I have had my own dogs but I trained them so I wasn't afraid of them. I also went to one home and they forgot to leave keys so our manager told us to go over the gate in the back yard with a pitbull and another dog. Umm that was the day I quit. Although a dog may know the person when it comes to their territory it could have turned out really ugly . Anyway thanks for your input in this matter.

My roommate previously owned a cat, so her clothes and furniture have leftover cat dander, which leads to the whole apartment having cat dander. I have made a point to clean the area so my best friend can still come visit, but she's extremely allergic to cats. So much so that she's out of commission for a week or so. What about ShihTzu's and Poodles (who are supposed to be hypo-allergenic)? Do they still bother you?
BTW...I swear by the mixture you just explained but not because of allergies but because I have Lupus and I truly believe it helps me feel better. I also take medications and I "hope" it helps filter my kidneys/liver. I found it on UA-cam or online awhile ago and have been doing it for years.

    • @TinaJackson
      @TinaJackson 7 років тому +1

You definitely must have severe allergies or my friends have minor allergies because my ShihTzu doesn't really bother them very much at all. Although he does go to the groomer regularly also.
I think there's several factors on severity of reaction as well. If someone is brushing their dog (outside) regularly and vacuuming their dog hair, if there is any, regularly. I mean just because you have a cleaning service doesn't mean you don't have to clean up after your pets!

Yes, oddly enough, stomach acid is 1.5 to 3.5 on the pH scale and the lemon juice is about a 2, and the apple cider vinegar is 2-3. So it blends right in with stomach acids without any side effects other than it tastes nasty.

I was always allergic to cats. I let my older kids have them and just took claritin daily. I helped my oldest son's widow & daughters move this past September because her lease was up and still no issue even though they have 4 cats and a bunny. I didn't even take a pill that day. And my grandkitty is a big extra fluffy one.
Oct 5th I got bronchitis. October 15th I walked into my doctor's office and the moment I opened the door I got hit by a cloud of strong perfume. I swear the woman wore a whole bottle. Instantly my reactive airway slammed shut & I knew within 48 hours I would have chemical pneumonia again. Right on the tail end of that hospital stay we gave my youngest the kitten she had been begging for for her birthday. Bad idea. Apparently due to the pneumonia my allergy is now life threatening. It's not just dander I am allergic to it is their saliva and this kitten hissed at my dog and her cat toys all the time. She was only here for a week before we realized it wasn't just my pneumonia. I was covered in a rash and my palm, cleavage & cheek were blistered. I was so allergic to her my cleavage blistered through sweaters. For the last month I have lived in constant anaphylaxis. I have coded once and gone into shock twice. I now have to live on rescue inhalers, Neb treatments, epipens & no matter what allergy pill I take even the prescription ones don't last more than 3 hours. This has gotten dangerously worse. It started out wearing off at 7 hours. Just 3 days ago it was still 4 hours. Now it wears off at 3 hours. I start to itch and within 2 minutes my throat closes. We have dusted, vacuumed and scrubbed from ceiling to floor. Steam cleaned the furniture etc. As a nurse and in home health care worker I have cleaned this house to sanitary medical standards. I left for a weekend so my husband and another nurse friend could clean the house even wash ALL the clothes and bedding. The moment I walked in my airway slammed shut and we hit my epipen. I have had to use so many epipens and rescue inhalers my insurance company has now refused to pay for anymore.
Please give us advice on what we may be missing. Do we need to scrub with something other than white vinegar or Mr Clean? We don't have central air, we live in his grandparents old home so we have nooks and crannies we have done everything we can think of to clean. Do we need to paint? We have 2 air purifiers and one stays beside me always. I also keep my bedside window open half way no matter the temp outside and I still can't breathe. When I leave for Dr appointments I can breathe a little better after awhile but the moment I walk in my door the heaviness slams my chest and within 10 minutes every symptom is back. Within an hour I may hit my epipen. This house is literally killing me but we have no recourse, I have to live here. Please help

Check and see if you have a hiatal hernia also...it could be a sliding one. If it gets inflamed when you enter your house it seems like a regular asthma attack but it is the hernia and the allergies aggravates it.
I had the same problem as you and it I got no relief until my chiropractor diagnosed this and we worked on pulling that down. After that I was able to taper down some of the medicine. Before that I was in and out of the hospital and on the nebulizer every 3 hours or less. With other stuff in between. Now, I'm just trying to get better.

Get a mold inspection company to go over your house, and if you do have mold, they can fumigate the house, they can tell where is the mold and what to do to get rid of it.

The 16oz bottle of water +Apple Cider + Lemon juice? Yes. It's kept me very healthy. I usually have a few sips here and there. I don't drink it all in one big swig. 😝

Shameless plug: Many people have had great success with our Allerpet product especially if bathing your Cat does not sound like a fun idea.

Unfortunately I can’t get allerpet in New Zealand but I see the brand telfast has the same active ingredient 180mg in it. The lady at the pharmacy said this was more for skin allergies not for pet dander etc. what are your thoughts? I would think if it has the same active ingredient as allerpet which seems to give people relief that it should work the same?

LOL. Yeah, about that...it's not pretty when my eyes swell up and my face is puffy like a balloon or my sinuses are so clogged I can't breathe. Not to mention that when I can't breathe and my eyes are bloodshot I'm just flat out miserable to be around. 😝😝😝

Or if one is actually severely allergic to pets, use antihistamines. Tablets, nasal sprays, eye drops etc. Use prior to entering the home.
Or, wear a face mask. Which is what I do when vacuuming.
If someone has legitimate and severe allergies, they should be taking advantage of the available treatments that are proven to work.

Maybe you are really allergic to Fel d1, not the animals themselves.
