The thing about higher education is that it supposedly allows you to make better choices, as you are used to pursuing knowledge. Saying you have a master's degree puts you in a position of "being more knowledgeable than..." and that makes some people look up to you. That's a very simple tactic of recruitment in MLM, which works, you know, because if so and so is a doctor and is on it (if it's good enough for them) then I should be on it too.
Oh, and I too have a master's degree and I sell bread (but I don't have an amazing opportunity for you to sell bread - this is my business and I don't want to share it with you, sorry).

As someone who was raised by two fulltime working parents I hate the shaming of 'don't ever leave your kids side EVER.' My parents set a great example of being self sufficient, of having to put effort into getting things that you might want. Not saying your kids cant grow up independent if your a stay at home parent, but for me and my siblings it can definitely be attributed to my parents working. Also, when I grew up I didn't mind having alone time, but maybe that's just my introverted self haha

We have 4 months of maternity over here in Colombia. And 15 days holidays per year. Most ppl accumulate and have like a month every time.
All that to say, maternity leave can go up to 5 or even 6 months sometimes. My best friend had a kid and at first? She was all about taking that extra month off. By the middle of the maternity leave? Girl was loosing it.
She could not handle not having anyone to talk to, having to just take care of the house and a child.
I heard this girl tell me “stupid law that won’t allow me back to work at 3 months” because she was at the end of her rope.
Now she is on baby n2 and let me tell you, she still won’t stay at home with her toddler and baby.
The second they allowed her back she did, and she tells me her kids are better for it. They are not scared of other people and used to just her, they are forced to be social and have a sane mother that values the time she spends with them to the max. Can’t get a hold of her even if the company is on fire after hours, she is happy and has her own identity and the whole family is better for it.
No MLM hun is that on hands, they are always “working”.
Oh, and her partner could 100% have her stay home because he makes crazy money, she’d rather die🤣

From the 2018 lawsuit, Monat is legally prohibited from saying they are vegan because they are not. As someone that actually cares about the vegan label, this is so infuriating to see these distributors just lie and make up stuff and their company does not even hold them accountable. what a joke.

    • @morgan3918
      @morgan3918 2 роки тому +13

Being vegan is more than just a diet choice to some people. While I am not vegan nor vegetarian, a cosmetic product being labeled as vegan (and even get certified as vegan by organizations such as Leaping Bunny) isn't just a sales gimmick -- it is a way for consumers to be assured that no animals were tested or used in products. Ethics play a huge role into the things people buy -- which is why I personally don't eat at Chick-Fil-A, for example -- and the fact that Monat market partners are constantly toting the vegan label is absolutely disgusting to me because that means something quite significant to potential customers.

I don’t know what it’s like in the US, but in the UK when brands state “dermatologist tested”, it doesn’t have to have been approved. The mere fact it was tested is enough for them to put that statement on their products. You want to look out for “dermatologist approved” labels, which are much harder to find but that’s when you know they’ve been tested and approved. As someone with incredibly sensitive skin, it’s so disappointing when you get the wrong thing!

Yes!! The phrase "I know, right?" was popular when i was in high school and I had a coworker that said it after EVERYTHING. Then I had heard through someone or something that explained using words & phrases like that after saying your thoughts & opinions is associated with needing validation/having low confidence in what you're explaining/etc. Obviously that might not be in every instance, but it really gave me a new perspective when i hear people consistently adding these reassurance-seeking questions at the end of what they say.

The daycare shaming bothers me so much especially because the socialization that kids get from playing with other kids is such an important experience to help them get ready for school. My mom was a single mom for quite a while who worked multiple jobs to keep a roof over our heads, clothes on our backs, and food in our stomach. This whole “parents (moms) who work are bad parents” argument makes me so angry. Some parents, like my mom, have no choice. My mom is my best friend in the entire world and was a GREAT mom. She was there for every performance, game, recital, class trip, whatever. I’m not a mom, and I don’t ever plan on being one but this notion that your a bad parent because you work makes me sick.
Also as someone with multiple degrees… I can’t fathom just joining an MLM full time. I did not put in all the time and work just to scam people.

In the mid-90s my mom briefly did what you'd now call "network marketing" but at the time involved just parties & lots of time spent on the phone taking & placing orders, no recruiting that I ever knew of, but honestly that was when she was the least present. My sisters were toddlers at that time and while she was on the phone either I was stuck watching them or they were drawing on the walls, cutting each other's hair, smashing eggs, even getting hurt once. As far as I know that's the main reason she quit - she couldn't actually be a stay at home mom and do it! So every time these moms say that I kinda shudder to think what the kids are really experiencing while they make 100 Instagram stories a day and go on a million zoom calls.

Most undergraduates get a job to start the process and at school is when I've had to "sell" the hardest for my design. It's going go be years before I have to stand up in front of a client and do that because the project manager or lead architect does that. It takes a couple years to decades to get that much experience and a very small amount is about selling the project.

Right?! That’s what I was thinking too. All my corporate jobs have had some sort of EAP and offer some type of mental health resources. It’s not always perfect and there’s ALWAYS room for improvement but at least those resources weren’t used to brainwash me into giving more of myself to the company I was employed through. I haven’t used the resources myself but an ex-coworker of mine was mentally struggling with our work environment. She reached out to the EAP our company offered and AT THE END of the first meeting with the mental health professional, my ex-coworker was told, “you should look for another job. Your work environment appears awfully stressful with seemingly no chance for change so maybe it’s best you look for employment elsewhere”. Are any of the “self development “ crap these MLMERS consume ever going to tell any of them to leave their MLM?! Absolutely not- quite the opposite! They are instead, BRAINWASHED into giving themselves more into it 🫤 it’s tragic.

I’m a cosmetologist and have had my license since may 2009. I usually will recommend that people change the shampoo and conditioner that they use every so often, because after a while of using the same shampoo and conditioner on your hair, it becomes less effective . When you change it up, your hair is less likely to become used to the same exact products being used over time and therefore less likely to stop responding as well as it did in the beginning of your experience using the same products for long periods of time. I change my shampoo and conditioner that I use every other bottle or so, that way my hair doesn’t quit responding to the shampoo and conditioner that I love! If you change your shampoo and conditioner and see a difference in the way your hair is feeling and acting, it’s most likely because it’s been a long time since you’ve changed of your product… Not because the product is switched to, as necessarily an amazing cure, all product. Switching up your products you use on your hair is just as good way to keep your hair from getting used to the same products and eventually not responding as well to them.
