Thank you for sharing. I wasn't sure which windows to install. Keep up with the good work.
Thank you for clearly mentioning your system specs and setup.
Your videos are very informative and helpful, new sub earned
Thank you for the great information as I am thinking of upgrading to Win 11 👍
THank you great content!
activation key sponsor was pretty neat, I just built my PC and i had that water mark in game
Thank you for such a meticulous test. Moving to Windows 11)))
Building an AM5 system right now so think it's time to go 11, this video is reassuring 😀
Perhaps another interesting and important point to consider is the presence of stuttering of frames. It is often overlooked in benchmarking but has a significant impact on gameplay experience for the player.
Which is better Windows version for this?
@@Nythos TBH, I see window 10 better in frame times, WIndow 10 LTSC.
Ohhh for some reason, I thought that was the reason people post the 1% lows...what's a good indicator for stuttering? (obviously other than seeing it yourself)
@@FrancoDFernando It seems I was not properly informed on the 1% and 0.1% lows, you thought correctly - they are there to give insight about the possible stutter.
@@s-3948 ohhh nice! thanks for confirming
I think it makes more sense to do an optimized test, and an unoptimized test, as I think a large amount of people gaming don't optimize their OS.
He did in the other video.
100% .. everyone blames their GPU and game for bad performance when in reality 30-50% of their GPU is simultaneously running usless default windows features.
Thanks for your video
I have Windows 11 since they updated they're drag and drop, I really need it because of video editing and music producing. I'm in love with 11 but still kinda miss 10 for sure
Yepp for creative side people, windows 11 is a nice upgrade
Well shit, I'm a video editor with a PC BEGGING me to upgrade to Win11, guess it'll actually be beneficial!

Whats the benefits of w11 for editing? I use capcut only

I did not expect this result.
Why not? It's been more performant for years.
Great video bro.. Optimize -debloat makes the job 😉
Thank you man
im happy with windows 10
I'm still happy with Windows 7. :) Steam is the nail in my coffin though, since they are not allowing Windows 7 on their platform anymore. :(
@@Liberty73_NA I would use Win7 but I'm not for 2 reasons.
1st reason: I'm using a laptop, and the Wi-Fi doesn't work for me on Windows 7 and older versions :(
2nd reason: Barely anything supports Windows 7 and 8.x since they ended on January this year.
@@koopatroopa6882 I understand. Microsoft would make a fortune if they released a new OS that was basically Windows 7 (none of this current bloatware), but with modern capabilities.
Yeah, not installing and debloating windows 11 just to gain 3-7 fps
@@Liberty73_NA so true, this shit gets 4gb of my ram, they could release as an "gaming exclusive version" but their eyes are on the "online videocalls and homework" market unfortunately
I'll consider Windows 11 if they would have a native setting to change back the look and functionality of certain things, like changing the start menu and the right click options. The over simplification of things is stupid and loses ease of use with most of the settings being in another clickable option on their own. I'd rather have everything appear to me all at one.
Like many people has been saying, the only fix to Windows 11, is by staying on Windows 10.
Atlas playbook
You can already bring back the old right-click menu on the Desktop by changing some registry values.
And for the start menu, there are many third-party alternatives that you can try out, and see what works best for you.
yup. The design of windows 11 is dumb.
What will happen after win10 stops receiving updates in 2025 will it affect anything if I don't update to win11?
@@Mr-screentime You will just stop receiving updates, unless you care about having the latest security updates you can continue using and even reinstalling windows 10 as much as you like. Eventually though (this will be years and years down the line after 2025) apps will stop supporting windows 10 and you will no longer be able to use them unless you use an outdated version and never update.
Have one system on each, I kind of prefer 10 to 11, even though I tweak 11 also. If 12 is more like 10 would try early adopting. Also Linux 11 made me learn more Linux due to how nuts features of bloat removing those drove me.
Looks like windows 10 is configured by default for performance, while windows 11 is configured for appearance and customizability. Could you specify the versions of windows you were using? Also amazing benchmark, would be cool to see how they perform on newer hardware optimized for newer operating systems
Windows 11 Atlas OS
Did you install the ryzen chipset or just a fresh install with benchmarks? I find the ryzen power plans reduced my performance especially in win11 with my R5 5600. Tried both win10 and win11 and i find win10 to run a lot better idk 😂
They've obviously worked out most of the bugs in Win11, finally. Aside from small annoyances like not being able to double stack the hidden taskbar I'm slowly upgrading my PC's to 11. Mainly because Win11 has noticeably fewer updates than 10. I'm sure MS are hammering out Win10 updates to annoy people into upgrading. 😂
Anyway, great comparison mate, a lot of work involved there
I think they just fixed that problem by reintroducing those settings in the most current version of Windows 11, 23H2 I believe.
My PC kept having errors that would break the updates and meant it wouldn't let it update, so eventually programs and things will stop working correctly. I upgraded to 11 yesterday and love it so far
The fact that Windows 11 can only just beat the previous generation doesn't say much for Microsoft's abilities to improve their software. I'll wait for Windows 12 before I upgrade but I won't be holding my breath that there will be any gaming speed improvement. It would have been interesting to compare with a Windows 7 machine !
i'm sure you can find windows 7 vs 10 videos and make your judgment from there, but if i remember correctly, windows 10 had better performance than 7
Well to be fair, there hasn't been a huge change in gaming between these two operating systems like there has been in the past. The only major differences would be rebar and maybe some improvements to directX 12, but the overall performance seems pretty good considering it's still containing legacy components, and it feels a bit more optimized for NVMe's out of the gate.
And tabs for file explorer, finally!
I have had a good experience with 11 so far, less stuttering and Hogwarts Legacy's framerate is significantly better for me on a 4090 and 5900X. I've seen so many game recommend Windows 11, and AMD and Intel even recommend 11 for the most recent CPUs
mad jealous of that table. that's what i wanted to do til i saw the price. should have spent the $ and made one myself
Honestly I hate 11 for other reasons. Mainly, the customization options. Particularly where I have the bar that W11 forces you to stick to the bottom. I want it on the side, where I've been shifting it to fit years. 11 got rid of little options like that. Plus there are too many bloatware ads. Hate em. None of them even touch what I want. I'll stick with 10 until they kill it.
i needed this video! i was considering switching, can you try debloated 10 vs debloated 11?
Are you dense?
Debloated?
@@ArchieXIV Without bloat, for example maps, spotify, roblox, candy crush installing on its own
you should add latency tests, fps is not everything when it comes to gaming
Nice video but how about Intel's cpus with efficiency cores, are there any difference between Windows 10 and 11 :)
I don't know, I don't have one. 🤷
Sorry, low budget UA-cam channel that doesn't have the big bucks, or manufacturers sending me free hardware, to have multiple platforms to test on. So I do what I can with what I have. Maybe someday I will have a bigger budget for hardware.
Would love to see some info on input latency with win 10vs11
Sweet, i was seriously considering going back to win10.. but since i really only game now, and my main is cs2.. well might as well stay on 11. Lol
I am installing Windows 11 on a separate drive. Will switch back to
10 if I do not like it. Thanks for doing the comparison.
Any thoughts on comparing ? I am also on a fence of upgrading from Win10 to 11
All good here. I have shifted to 11 and wiped my old 10 drive. 11 is pretty much 10.
Frame per second is one, the second, more important i think is latency. On W 11 is more perceptible then W10.
Can we do Care person. one for streaming and creative content like 3D and Avatar and V-Tuber and music? And let's include low content like having a Plex server.
One of these days a site will review benchmarks including games that are not FPS's or racing (I'm biased I guess as I play neither).
Isometric rpg's like Baldurs Gate 3 can run your gpu and cpu quite hard but never seem to get featured. I guess it's because they tend to run your cpu harder than the gpu, but they still should be considered. A pc is not just as good as it's graphic card after all.
just curious how many runs per game as some of the margins of difference are very small? windows 11 when it first came out was pretty shitty especially for the higher core count / mixed high performance/ low performance cores due to scheduling issues if I recall. I just updated my work laptop to 11 and it actually feels a bit quicker in some cases. still haven't upgraded my gaming pc yet. the other layouts for doing things in 11 just suck as you still need to go back to the old ways to access them which takes more steps.
I just installed windows 11 on my old system loptop it work very well I like it I follow your instructions with Rufus 😊😊😊 thanks alot 👍
5:22"It makes a big difference"
Bro, it's literally 1 FPS
At 60 FPS or lower? Yes it does for first person shooter games because you know you're gonna hit those 1% lows much worse and it feels bad overall aiming on a mouse. I hated that era of 30-60 fps "playable" framerates and can't go back to lower than 144 hz/fps. I still don't get why companies would advertise ray tracing games running around 60 fps like being pretty is enough to make up for "just playable" framerates.
ty for the video so far to this date no real reason to upgrade......
What about how much ram and background processes are running on a fresh install because brand new windows 10 is using 30% ram off the rip. And stays like that.
I am updating Windows as I type and glad to see this! I mainly use my PC for gaming and have a similar setup, Ryzen 5 5600x, 16 gb crucial ram, 1TB m2 ssd and EVGA RTX3060ti. Excited to see my game performance. I mostly play Rust and I want to double the ram as my next upgrade. Otherwise the PC has handled everything I throw at it.
yo i play rust too, a lot. can you recommend me some cpu for gtx 1050
I have almost the same setup
Are you going to upgrade the GPU soon?
@@notkahlilsupreme i5-10400F would be enough, or Ryzen 5500G
did you update how was the experience
Also, there is more than just FPS.
There are channels that tested things like input latency where Win11 ended up having higher input delay.
But since we can't tell how you fumbled around with the settings doing your "optimization" or how the other hardware may have played into that since you don't list it, my guess is that Win11 goes harder on some kind of FPS optimization that increases input latency.
Directstorage makes up for the stutter for windows 11
Unfortunately neither of these tests in Windows 10 or 11 took advantage of directstorage because the system is using a SATA SSD and not an nvme drive. However, that's a video I should probably make.
If you wanna use HDR, then Windows 11 is noticeably better. Mostly because Windows 11 has access to the HDR calibration app and Auto HDR (which was supposedly available on Windows 10 too but I couldn't find any options for it myself). It's the main reason I finally decided to upgrade. I hate Windows 11 a lot less than I thought I would tbh. Just a few minor annoyances here and there. But that's to be expected with most things
Hi Manlet Eater
It's TWINS!
or you use special k, for hdr on win 10.
I reinstalled Win 10 today after a year on 11. All I do is game on my PC.
Well, Windows 10 is supposedly getting copilot. So, I think they might end up extending support for 10. I mean why bring that to 10 for just a short period of time? Wouldn't make much sense.
I think they're trying to get more users used to using it. I don't think it has anything to do with extending support for Windows 10.
Nope they are continuing to double down on a june cut support date
have you tested the input latency for each OS?
@@JoPsyphI see i see
which debloater that you use ?
If both a Win10 & Win11 system is optimised then there is probably not a noticable difference and at the end it comes down to personal preference.
In my case I found that Win11 has alot more features that I Personally find alot more handy / usefull so my days of using Win10 are probably over.
I just edited a Win11 ISO file to my liking and I honestly was quite satisfied with the result.
Also I think that WIn11 will stay relevant alot longer than Win10, even though they already sort of announced Win12 or something. So switching to Win11 seems to be more sensible, not to mention the before mentioned features I really like. It has helped my workflow alot and I'm happy with it.
100% agree! But 1 more negative to win 11 is Hardware limitation and control by Microsoft. For me the main reason to avoid win 11 is because I will not support such a development.
@@wish2654 What hardware limitations do you mean? I can't remember something like that...
clarify to us what features?
Youre looking at fps only but total system latency is more important imho

Hello i have a problem with explorer.exe when I open and close a folder multiple times it reaches up to 450 mb even after i closing the folders it only goes down to 350mb it only back to normal after i restart explorer i tried SFC and Dism fixes but i didn't fix the problem 😢
Good vidio I for 11 thanks 😊
so what i do not get is how you mention a margin of error on some and then when its close you call it a tie, also the variable on the path for games and rendering without using built in benchmarks is all margin of error
Agree..! These Guys Are Bad At Making Comparisons..!
I think he is saying that for an average/casual gamer, you wont notice a thing cause that .3 percent difference is just that small
I think some context matters here.
If the computer is mid or high in performance usually it will benefit from newer OS but if the Pc is low to mid then it wont benefit at all or just cause worse performance due to software progression like adding features , system updates and security , in plain terms evolution = more resource hungry , rarely its ever the other way around.
Can you do productivity benchmark on win 10 vs win 11
Got a Windows 11 laptop two weeks ago. So far I'm really impressed. Windows 11 is pretty slick.
Seems like a small tug of war - CPU vs GPU
Thanks sir even I am going upgrade windows 11
You should test the very first release of Windows 10. More specifically the second, I mean. Back in the early days of Windows 10 - Microsoft didn't put any bloatware on the OS, so you had completely bare-bone stock performance OS without having to do optimizations and removing bloatware.
I installed it on my very old laptop that is 12 years old, and the only thing I can say is... the performance was absolutely mind blowing! the laptop was so fast like never before.
(I've been trying every single release of Windows 10, and by far the early second release was the BEST!)
The only problem I had is, I couldn't find compatible graphics drivers from the official manufacturer's website, so I had to download some "totally safe" drivers from a third-party website that supports the old Windows 10 release.
Windows 10 22H2 is the only build of Windows 10 that's still in support. I highly recommend against running out of support operating systems.
@@CyberCPU I know that, but my suggestion was to try out the very first release, just so you can compare the performance on the older vs the latest Windows. Vulnerabilities are everywhere, people just have to learn how to properly use.. computers? 🤷♂
@@RVTGROUP Most people don't know how to "properly" use computers. What is "proper" computer use in your definition?

I think it's still depend of your hardware and the game optimization, no matter which version of windows do you have, even with windows 19, if your hardware is too old and the game is poor optimize, the performance will still suck
Well I have for the longest time used W10 and dont ever wanna use W11 until i'm 100% forced too, so i'm kinda scared about 2025 mark, hope i can still use my Windows 10 good after that.
Need benchmarks for rendering like ai,ps,c4d,blender etc.
I use windows 11 because of auto hdr, i love windows 10 but i like hdr a bit more. I cant wait for windows 11 ltsc to release.
Probably gonna wait for Win 12 later this year or early next year and see how it performs.. Even though Win 11 wasn't terrible we all know that every 2nd version of Windows is the big seller..
Will my currently installed programs be lost if i update to 11 from update center
no
You should try Windows 11 Home vs Windows 11 Pro. Both with optimizations. I imagine pro has some level of extra overhead that Home doesn’t.
bit locker stuff on ssd's
Older less popular games would be great in such tests. Cause they wont be extra optimised
how many benchmarks did you do per game? so far i am seeing a margin of error difference.
These benchmarks would be more interesting with Windows 11 installed on unsupported hardware.
On new hardware it is obvious that Windows 11 will run better since it's optimized for new hardware.
Here's a little game:
Take a sip of MD everytime he says: "SO".
Does it help people at the lower end of PC specs?
I don't know if windows 11 is improving or windows 10 become worse with every update it get
It's a bit of both. Of course MS will keep enhancing the system, but the way MS also push updates is the problem.
They do not test updates, we do. And sometimes we got fucked because of it. Before Bill Gates got off from MS, the company had testers for Windows. They had around 300 computers with different specs to test the windows version so every single update, we got after months of them beta-testing inside by doing the general tests.
Nowadays, they don't have that anymore, since Windows 8 actually. So, yes, in a lot of ways Windows 10 is getting worse. Sometimes you have to do a clean install because consecutive updates break the system. IT's sad really.
What resolution was used?
I switch to win 11 after buying new pc.. My experience is.. even if is faster, this version is so different visualy.. and i have that 'feeling' it's slower ( stock version ) because of all this visualy shiny things.. I have feeling i using some virtual machine.. like i emulating some weird mobile system...I don't know really how to explain this werd feeling.. and even if scores comparing 2 systems favors 11 i still think 10 is more "snappier".. I guess i will just need to get used to it, maybe is that.. Also i will use optimizations and debloat as much as i can. Btw i speaking my experience working and doing things using system, not playing games... Also i have 7950x cpu, 4090 gpu, 64gb of ram.. so pc parts are not the issue.. i think it's my brain :D haha
You described everything that I was experiencing ... The animations are slower in Win11 and if it is like it is "thinking" twice before doing something :D
Games like valorant, doesnt need good pc to play, but win11 ''TPM 2.0 is required to run Windows 11, as an important building block for security-related features'', that means older cpu can not play games like diablo 4, valorant... If you have win10 you are good to go.
We made a comparison with the same PC on Win 11 vs Win 10 (4090 and 7950X3D). Benchmark was almost 10% better on Win10. Maybe AMD not optimized on win11? So atm we stay on Win10
They had to fk up the start menu didn't they. Hope there is a fix for that
I'm not sure what Microsoft did. Although technically both are almost the same, Windows 11 seems to have slightly better FPS than Windows 10. Can you compare AtlasOS 10 and AtlasOS 11? Both are debloat and optimized very well for gaming and I don't know how either will perform.
November 20, 2023 10:46PM
It's not true. There are other videos out more recent with a 4090 showing 10 can often get more fps. Depends on the game.
I think I've seen a 15% drop in frames since upgrading to Windows 11, too late for me to change back now as have limited internet access..
I've done a lot of testing between Windows 10 and 11 and I've seen virtually no difference.
If you don't have the same "GAMING" windows OS.
It's win10 > win11 when stock.
As someone who has been using windows since Windows 95, I’ve discovered that you should NEVER upgrade windows if the current version is functioning properly regardless.
still using windows 7 still
Can someone let me know if Windows 10 is better for my Nividia Geforce RTX 4060Ti 8G with a Ryzen 7 5700 series 16GB of Ram
I switch back to win10 due to the unresolved issue of 7900xtx's abnormal flickering on the external frame of window/software, i think microsoft isn't that serious about optimising amd hardwares for win11...and such poor graphics optimization also happens to intel, my last laptop with i7-12700h w/ iris graphics 96eu constantly suffer from graphic bugs on win11, and i can't even switch back to win10, since win11 got better big&little core optimization.
windows 10 has better functionality. i had win 11 long enough that i can say for ppl that deal with files win 10 is easier to use
especially when u used windows since the 90s win 10 is classic and easier to use.
Are both Windows 11 and 10 fully up to date? If so you should test an older build of Windows 10 like 1709 or 1809. I use 1709 and it gives me a lot lower DPC latency than newer builds of 10 or any build of 11. I know compatibility issues arise with newer software on older builds but from my testing with LatencyMon the older the Windows 10 build the better the performance.
1709 is long out of support. I typically don't spend time testing older builds because I don't typically recommend running older builds for security reasons.
Thanks for the prompt reply. I understand your concerns with security. I use my 1709 build on a seperate partition offline so security does not matter in my situation. I need really low latency for live music production. I use another partition with an up to date Win10 for my online life. Keep up the great work. I love watching your videos!
What about Atlas OS?
i thought maybe it was my pc, but after a year of using win 11 I stopped having problem that I had with win 10 and recentally reinstalled to win 10 again and started having same problems again... example PC randomly becomes 5 fps for like 30 sec - 2 min... and when in fortnite moving sometimes mouse gets stuck as if in game there's mouse blocker idk how to explain basically mouse gets stuck for 0.1 sec when moving in the same place when moving it around.

TLDR: They are about the same optimized and unoptimized
in mid end or low end pc I don't know how but windows 11 gives better performance then windows 10 with my experience i say windows 11 is better with the theme fluidy smooth and perf.
I still don’t know if Windows Mixed Reality can be install on w11 in a clean install. I know a migration from w10 to w11 works but on a clean install, i don’t know. And my cpu ryzen 1800x is not compatible anyway. So no w11 for me. And i prefer w10 interface. If Microsoft don’t support its own products WMR i have no reason to support MS windows as well and will stay on w10 forever. I don’t care of updates. I ihave third party firewall and anti virus at multiple layers. I don’t need w11. MS cannot block internet or i would sue them, and i can still go to Linux. I bought a ps5 with 4 TB ssd to not use the pc for gaming except fs2020. But if they don’t support my WMR headset anymore, i have no reason to continue using windows to do word processing email or internet. I can do that with any other hardware and systems.
