    Brent!!! You have the best videos! My desire to go buy kayaks and paddleboards is so great right now just so I can build this rack!! And thank you for explaining how important it is to varnish the wood, especially in your area.

    Brent, I love this plan, I have 4 kayaks and live on the Swan River in NW Montana. I’m going to build it based on video since I can’t seem to find the link for the plans. Any chance you could respond with the link to plans?

    What do you use cedar for and what do you use pressure treated wood for? Or is it all cedar?

    Don't you think you should build a small rolling table for your miter saw before you build anything else?...This way you won't have to wear (what looks like) your home made knee pads...LOL

    • @BYOTools
      @BYOTools  2 роки тому

      LoL! Well I’ll tell ProKnee that you think their knee pads look homemade ha ha. They are the most expensive kneepads in the marketplace that I know of. And yes a cart may be needed in my future but I don’t know how it will do with 16’ers haha. Thanks for watching.

    There are some good basic suggestion for this rack however there is an absolute ton of room for improvement and I don't mean rocket scientist improvements, I mean just by applying the very basics of woodworking. Where this person relates the number of screws used to the finish products strength is a huge red flag. In literally no time at all the screw connections will loosen as the lumber naturally shrinks out in the open air and this rack will be wobbling all over the place. Another red flag is when he said he added horizontal bracing for structural integrity,, even a kid knows diagonal bracing adds structural integrity for lateral stability, not to mention the lack of waterproof adhesives for all the screw joints, and sanding the mating surfaces flat for maximum contact for gluing I could go on and on, don't throw good money away on this rack build, do some research and educate yourself you will build a better product.
