A nice, light draw weight bow with some lovely lines on it. It's nice to see what must take you hours of careful work, come together in a few minutes on screen. That card scraper is such a simple little tool, yet so very useful and important.
I really appriciate that you actually made a bow inspired by the orcish bows from LOTR. I know the elven bows are much more elegant and refined bows but I still really love the aestethics, the inventiveness and the crude, brutal look of the orc bows. Personally my all time favorite bow from the lord of the rings movies, is the Uruk-hai bow used to kill Boromir in the first movie. At some point, I want to try to make a bow as similar in look as possible to that bow. I really appriciate seeing this orc bow being made and now I feel a little more motivated to take on the Lurtz bow. Have a wonderful day. Skål from Norway!
Ahahah you finally made it! A fantasy bow that.... honestly, probably shoots far better then the bows they use in the movies. :) Always nice to watch you work! Good job!
Awesome bow! I hope to one day be at least half as good as you at bow making. I have made 4 board bows so far. And I have some pacific yew staves drying out for my first bow from a tree stave
Currently trying to make my first bow ever from a standing green sapling, I only have a pocket knife & a 3 in 1 hatchet/collapsible saw/hammer. I’ve gotten rid of a good amount of material already(both limbs are tapered from the handle) but I’m afraid I’m gonna break it because it won’t bend & I don’t know what to do. Should I just keep tillering it?
If it doesn't want to bend it means it's still too stiff - there is still to much material on limbs. Taper them more. Be careful during tillering - use protective googles. Good luck!

Thank you! Yes, it's a wonderful place! Greetings from Poland!
This is so cool! Really inspiring, great work
Thank you!
Great job. If you shorten the thickness of the stave with an ax, how do you chase the growth ring?
Thank you! I chase it with a drawknife
Rad as hell!
Thanks 👊
Hi Mr can you make a video on how to make the recurve jig?
Yes sir, got it on my list of videos to make
@@DreamcraftBows aww OK 😊

Great job. Back sinew, add 10-15# power
Thank you!
Very nice! but it doesn't seem like the deadliest weapon. Would probably take 2-3 arrows to kill a Steward-prince of Gondor.
Thank you! Indeed, it's rather light bow, but for sure an efficient one!
That’s is so cool really nice work
Thank you, nothing serious, but a fun project!
@@DreamcraftBows totally! Just wondering how heavy is the draw wieght
@@Outdoorlifestyle06 25lb at 26"
@@DreamcraftBows cool thx
legolas! 2 already!
I'm on seventeen 👊👊👊
Wolf Fangs from gothic1 can you craft?
Have to check it out
What is your highest draw weight you got for the bow which you build???
90 lb
Great Idea, my friend. Like the design. But i asked myself why you made it that thin and low in Drawweight? Is it made for an Orcish Youngster?
Thank you! I wanted to make it light not to overstress the black locust wood, which could handle it badly with such a curvy design
What wood do you use to make your bows? Thanks
Black locust, ash, yew, red oak, cherry, hazel, maple
@@DreamcraftBows Thanks 🙂
Is that a homemade stain?!
No, it's artificial stain
Red arrows go faster.
👊👊
Brah, you were scared it would explode weren't you. Those curves are not easy on wood.
Indeed. Especially on locust, which tend to have compression issues
He should make all of it from steel
I'm afraid it wouldn't work 👊
