Hi, I have a couple of questions that I hope you could answer. I am planning to make short films and shopping for camcorders. So, hope you could answer- 1) Are the videos in MPEG-4 format? 2) For outdoors, would I need an additional mic? 3) How long is the battery life on continuous recording? 4) Can you take a still picture while shooting video? If so, is it saved separately or just freezes the frame? Thank you!
Hey there, sure am in Australia. What part of Australia are you in? They are for sale here in Australia, websites such as videoguys here sell them. If you buy from overseas you need to find out if it is PAL or NTSC. PAL would suit you best here as that's the format we use here. They have released the Canon XA25 the model up from this now so the XA10's would be down in price which is great as it's a very versatile camera.
people loking for a tool for busines or work, but whit few experience in video production, need to know the cam is just a star point, for this camara to be a efective work solution and a good invest you wil need to invest also in a good tripod, a pro mic, better yet a pro audio recorder, some light sistem, the battery charger, some dicent computer, and also some hard drives.
I am not English but I speak English fluently and I understand fast speakers pretty well but I have some trouble to catch all you said. I think sometimes you simpy slur over passages. Maybe you could articulate and pronounce a little clearer for us little people :)
i have the h4n exellent recorder, best choise, i dont like the t3i not the 60d eather, for video you need a 7d ore a 5d 2 or 3, however a t3i can be a good choise for a star, you will fin that lenses are way mor eimportant than camera bodys, and you will also have to invest in a good computer, video stabilisation sistem, and much more
DAGNINET SHUMYE yes it's the same, I believe there's the XA10E and XA10P from what I understand one is the NTSC version and the other is the PAL version but don't quote me on that please do further research : )

i believe any camera is suitable to tell any story, really isn't about what technology you use it's pretty much how you use it to tell your story.
The infra red mode is for shooting predator 3 :)
yes xa10 would be great, they do have the xa25 now, have you looked at a canon 60D?
