Solid gold country crossover hit in Australia for the then 27 year old U.S. based singer.
The 45 disc picked up significant sales in many parts of the country, reaching the #3 spot* on the Go-Set pop newspaper’s final national ‘top 60’ chart on 21 August 1971 (one week later, the newspaper, which at the time was the sole complier of an Australia wide music survey, reverted to the ‘top 40’ format it had published prior to August 1970).
This is the (2.49) album length version with a slightly longer running time than the locally issued single (pictured).
Australia release: Mid 1971.
Highest local chart position: #1 (Adelaide & Sydney).
The ‘Kent Music Report’ retrospectively confirmed the correct position of Susan’s track was #2, achieved during a great run of 27 weeks, her first and final national pop chart success in Australia.
