For those who have asked about the name of the beat they are voguing off of....it's called "In The Mix" by Mix Masters (featuring MC Action) on DJ International Records...I believe this is the 'Fast Eddie Remix' version.
this video is off da hook. Both of these guys have incredible strength, flexibility as well as they are able to vogue and cover short and long distances across the stage. Man, i give them all respect. Alot of people make voging look sloppy in their performances but these guys set the bar for many.
The most physically demanding and intricate interpretation of House Vogue style ever! I would love to see more! Kudos Two both my brotha's you turned the s$#t Out!!!!!!!
.... um Andre is a legendary Icon and founder/overall father of one of the biggest houses in the voguing scene (Mizrahi) He IS vogue - Look him up on youtube. Javier is one of the best New Way performers learned from the infamous Willi Ninja. So to say they CAN'T vogue is a damn dirty LIE.
i love it....i started in the eighties to malcolm mclaren 'waltz darling'. of course voguing was a little different back then...and i don't think anybody in europe is doing it anymore, a shame. still very impressive and really an artform. these guys are amazing.
Its a dance called voguing... It was made by the gay community many years ago (that explains the very feminine movements) it consist of 5 elements 1. Catwalk- the sashaying walk 2. Duckwalk- lower foot scooping and bouncing while squatting. 3. Hands Performance/Arm Control- the illusions of hand movement to the beat. Also being double jointed. 4. Dips/Spins- Usually the most used element, the fall with one leg into a ground level stunt. 5. Floor Performance- Using the floor as your prop.
THIS IS 'ONE' OF THE BEST BATTLES I EVER SEEN, two completely defferent styles, both so amazing, this is how u take vouging to the next level, Thank U Beautiful !!...p.s who won this one?
The comments below are tragic...The sheer precision shown by The Legendary Andre Mizrahi and Javier Ninja is amazing...respect the craft even if you do not agree with the lifestyle. As Emerald72 said, there is a level of talent that is involved with this that is so phenomenal, that all should take notice. Calling people names and all that is not needed...let those men live and SHINE, without any of your negative comments. RESPECT them! Additionally, this video was EVERYTHING! I enjoyed it!!
hot,hot HOT!!! amazing stuff...the track playing in the background was also in Madonna's Truth or Dare in a scene where they are all dancing in a hotel room...still haven't been able to find out the name!!
@YokoTheSilverFox YES you can make up your own moves that the beauty of voguing but theres elements you must do in order for it to be vogue. The elements are: Hand performance, duckwalk, (spin) dips, catwalk, and floor performance (and posing of course).
There is actually a 2 disc DVD coming out this fall of the House Dance International event. I've seen it. It is phenomenal. The vogue battle is the best one, but there are some other ones that are still hot. Plus interviews.
@donluv The 1st song is called In The Mix by Mix Masters. The second song is called The Ha Dance by Masters at Work, look them up on youtube, they are on here.
@DeefexNYC Hands Performance (an element of voguing) is really similar to raving... look it up, they can do wat u do (and more) without lights and chains with fire.
work it! guys if you havent heard already but there is a movie coming out about the drag ball scene called "Leave it on the floor" look out for it this summer
Check out "Paris is Burning". They explain it really well there. Where it started, where the moves came from, everything. Extremely interesting. And by the way, no, they are not making fun of women.
@@robertharris4100 OMG yes! X-travaganza..! I had the honor and humility of being critiqued and taught a few times by Willie Ninja himself. He loved my technique and flexibility. He gave me the most invaluable tip I still use: vogueing in a waterfall to the 4/4 beat of a metronome.
@@ThrowingShade Willie was a Wonderful person. One of his last Birthday parties was at Esculitas, it was wonderful. And in retrospect, I think he knew it was one of his last Birthdays. The House lost some of there Prestige after their passing, but that's life.
@@robertharris4100 I was in a Chapter in Miami for about a year, and was invited to NYC to vogue for the top houses. I had to really prove myself back then, I was one of a very few white boys that could vogue old and new way. I also had some ballet skills and was extremely flexible and double jointed. I could stand and hold on point and run on point too, haha! I watch these kids today and all they do is pop and dip, I miss watching bitches really serve and give a good show. Battles like this video are what I miss seeing the most. I tried watching that Show Legendary on HBO, but it just makes me sad. It was all about the costumes, and it just seemed so rushed and phony. It was also the first time I saw house dance, and I fell in love with that style more than vogue.
@@ThrowingShade I agree with you 100%. They kidz now make such a big deal about a twirl & a dip. Never mind hand & arms control. Never mind style & showmanship. And the shit that they wear. You can look and tell who has had training and who hasn't. I'm glad you mentioned the Paris scene. Some of those boyz & girlz are SERIOUS! Especially the Ninjas. They are truly a breath of fresh air. That would be very cool to watch. "Tonight on AC360, British prime minister settles the export dispute with an amazing dip." That would be so awesome, man.
I am 48yrs old and I used to dance back then if a guy was to dance any other way he would never hear the end of it. I will give guy number 2 points for being incredibly sharp and swaggerific, but this was over the MINUTE it started . .. hunty did a handstand on the judges' table .. .. WHAAAT?
Is there a particular reason why so many people do that one leg drop to the floor? Is it really easy to hurt yourself doing it? (it really looks that way)
