- Don't second guess yourself by trying to "feel" if your motorized bike is performing well or if your engine is losing power. A speedometer is an easy setup to start diagnosing any 2-stroke or 4-stroke engine properly.

Everything you need to make your own Motorized Bicycle.
The importance of knowing how fast you are going will help you avoid getting a costly speeding ticket.
On a bicycle? Maybe only in a low-speed limit area such as where speed bumps are. It would be funny though if someone ticketed you on a bike)
David Perry
Can you get a speeding ticket on a push bike?
I am going to google that
David Perry
Ok you kinda can
Not a motorcycle lol
@@pipdoesstuff3709 yeah stupid
I ordered this speedometer off of the website about two weeks ago. Arrived last week. So, the one I recieved is rectangular, not round... I know that sounds petty, but I waited almost two months for the website to restock so I could have a ROUND SPEEDOMETER. So, not only is it rectangular instead of circular, it's also set up for km/h and the odo/trip also only record in kilometers... I live in the USA and have no need for km/h or kilometers in general. The unit also came without any washers to install, so, I went to ACE and dropped $0.60 on a pair. Guess what? The thing won't fit between the hub and fork with washers, so, I had to install it without them. Once all that was done and I took it for a ride, i found it was completely inaccurate. It's accurate up until 15mph/25kmh, after that it says I'm going way faster than I really am. Says I'm going 40+mph/over 60 km/h when I'm really barely going 30mph. My bike has 26inch wheels, which on the website, says it's compatible with. Overall I'm really dissapointed.
even though theyre not accurate they still give you a judge of speed according to traffic .. i have one on all my motorized bikes and always put a new one on a new engine for aprox miles
You said on R side ,towards end of video show installing on left, they can be installed on springer forks but you will need to put a spacer on opposite side so wheel alignment is straight, you may need to replace axle with a longer one so there is plenty of thread to tighten wheel.👍
"Wiff a speedometer"...
I have a speedometer on my Springer Fork and it works great
I have other things hooked up to my motorbike I have a homemade brake light and turn signals and other cool features I'll post it a video up on it soon
You know what I have a springer Fork as well and I was wondering if I could still run it cuz it seem like my Hub had extra space
Bonus points for correct use of a clip from /The Matrix/
This will work with bikes with springer forks. You have to put two washers on the inside of the speedometer gear wheel
Thanks for the tip. I have one coming (bought on eBay for half BB's price) for a springer fork bike. I'll see if it can in fact fit that particular bike. A review on BB for the bike I got said it didn't, but maybe they didn't have the thought to put another washer.
Why does this video say specifically to install inn the right side of the fork, emphasize how important it is to install on the correct side, and then proceed to install it on the left side?
Our apologies for the confusion. This specific unit was sent from the factory to be mounted on the left side of the fork. They typically come ready to be right side mounted, though, with some fiddling they can be mounted to either side. We have been previously notified of the mistake and have since taken actions to produce more accurate and informative videos.
I had something similar on my bike 38 yrs ago
A speedometer assists me in the break-in and general running of my 2 stroke bike . The second thing that helps the most in me infred temperature gauge.
Warming up the engine to operating temperature makes the engine so much happier. It works best for setting the high speed jet.
To hot,to lean, not hot enough, rich. I run a rich 2 stroke. some two stroke engines on bikes needle in , lean, needle out rich.
Ok
I just bought the same mechanical speedometer just today it works great
We want to end the year right by making videos regularly that would help you guys! Let us know in the comments down below with the number 1 thing you need help with the most when it comes to motorized bicycles. Your comment might help us for future episodes. Thanks for watching! :)
BikeBerrycom yeah would like to learn more about the jnm cc x-port exhaust assembly yall have
BikeBerrycom you should decently do a video of your pocket bikes you carry and more stuff on that
I mean definitely
Can you show us how your new BBR Ready Frame bikes work?
On an earlier video you took coaster brake of and did not put it back only nut and washer you upgraded to handbrakes.if i do that i dont have to put coaster brake back on just put the washer and nut back....
I wanted to ask whether I can use this on a regular bike that does not have a motor? I just like the look and how easy it is to install.
ya u can
You obviously can
You said it must be installed on the right side, but you are installing on the left as you sit on the bike???? Wouldn't the right fork be on the right side as you are sitting on the bike??? not looking straight at it?
Just get a digital speedometer for regular bicycles instead, just a sensor attached to fork and a magnet that goes on your wheel. Very simple and universal
My got a left and right but it help me a lot tuck me all day the washer was missing but I got some. Note to show me how to do it and ever helpfully thank you for showing how to do it happy new year to u
Can I buy one in MPH just like this? Why is it out of stock. Can’t find the product on website.
"place on right side of tire"
*places it on left side*
WTF Bike Berry
Our apologies for the confusion. This specific unit is required to be mounted on the left side. We have been previously notified of the mistake and have since taken actions to produce more accurate and informative videos.
@@bikeberry you should take down that video...it doesnt go on the left side like you show...TAKE DOWN THAT VIDEO....ITS NOT CORRECT !!
@@bikeberry so I recieved mine today, with no instructions and no washers. Am I supposed to put it on the left or right? Not like it matters, the wheel doesn't have clearance to fit with the speedometer on it... I'm really disappointed to say the least.
My 66cc skyhawk goes past the 60kmh mark ,the limit here for cars is 50 and I pass them all the time , stock except for expansion chamber and waterproof cdi from bikeberry and no air filter
but wouldn't you have to calibrate it? i mean kph depends on rpm and wheel size ? unless they are already calibrated for certain wheel size
Analog speedometers are made to be used on bikes between 24-29 inch bikes, not exact but roughly correct.
dear bikeberry, the speedometer can be installed in the left or right side of the axle of the front tire. I think you Guys are informative, good work. keep it up!
James Dennison it can i uses it on the left axel. just you need cap of the side the side that say "right "and put the cable in the other end instead.
want to be careful though as the speedometer axle assembly won't work with some forks, example: front suspension, without some modifications.
I use old rubber tubing under bracket and between plastic nut "Both sides" to cut down on vibration
that Matrix part was awesome lol
Thanks Amigo!
even though theyre not accurate they still give you a judge of speed according to traffic .. i have one on all my motorized bikes and always put a new one on a new engine for aprox miles
This does look more official but you could also use a bike computer since it is just a bike with a engine on it.
My bike computer shows 99.9 km/h when the engine is running.
How you adjust the speedometer for different wheel sizes?
I was wondering the same thing
I have a springer fork and my speedometer works fine.
me 2. no problems
could this work with a chopper fork?
Can you make a video showing what is needed to install a single speed rear wheel on the gas tank frame you sell? I bought one from you guys and the dropouts are way too wide even though you mark it for a single speed on your website. Also nobody ever responds to my emails about the problem and when I called they didn't know what I was talking about.
Healthy Human I think a friend of mine is having the same issue. can't wait to see the solution!
Healthy Human look up Houstonmotorized he has a lot of videos on motorized bicycles also has one for that frame
Alright 👌 Thank you!
YW

If it could be installed in front of and below the handlebars, it could be illuminated by a common bike light at night.
Can you adjust that speedometer? Bike tyre sizes differ dramatically. is there a certain tyre diameter it is for?
No smaller than 20 inch no bigger than 28 inch, I believe that's what the FAQ on their website says. I think it's pretty much meant for 26inch wheels. And no, there's no way to adjust it
Those cheap mechanical speedometers don't last though. I got one of those $15 mechanical speedometers & broke after a little over 50 miles. You might be better off with a digital spedometer or using your smartphone with a speedometer app. That way you can switch between miles per hour to kilometers per hour & way more accurate to.
James mine gave out at 27 miles the plastic gears melt at higher speeds i run 🔋 powered one now with no issues
@Jabo ti bog
You have to get a good one, or get very lucky. I've owned a few back in the day, the plastic 'sensor' at the bottom went out on them very quickly.... Mine lasted more then 50 miles... but not by too much.
I've known cyclists who've owned better ones, but I have no idea where they got them.
The electrical system tends to throw off electric one's .
stick to a gear-driven....😃
@Ham5ter DE Yeah, they look cooler on certain vehicles. Just wish the one I got was better made.
Good that can help me out a lot I know how fast I'm going so I can go to work and back to my dorm room lol
How do we know the size of wheel?
Very helpful video. I just have one concern, I have all mag wheels. Can this work with them? Only five fixed spokes, actually the one you guys sell
No because the metal clips to the spokes which turns it to tell you how fast you are going. Mags need a digital speedo. Or phone app.
How come you placed the speedometer attachment on the left side?
I'm a mechanic and I dont like people telling me this and this wont work, as if it is impossible to change it with enough effort and thought
I got two hands and a functioning brain, I will make it work.
Just say you are not willing to make that effort with springer forks
I just got one of these speedometer and the Gear Drive that connects to the wheel just melted after 4 miles ended up buying a second one it done the same thing where do I get a new replacement Gear Drive senior video a hundred times I've done the exact same thing you did
thanks man
Could this be adapted to left side? I see the fork piece has an "R" and "L" side.
Yeah if you're dyslexic go ahead put it on backwards
does it work with every tire-size?
I guess i should buy one
Provided that all the wheels in the universe have one diameter.
Fr these guys NEVER go into specifics. Only use bikeberry if I cant find the same product on amazon myself.
The Speedometer.. can fit both sides left or right..
I put this on my 27" motorized bike and it reads too fast for my actual speed. And the odometer reads a half mile as a mile. Or something like that.
Is there an adjustment on this to fix it???
And there are NO directions with it. I found out the hard way that you have to put o flat washer in the middle and outside to make it work.
Do you sell them in Km/h instead of mph?
@CW aight
if only if you guys can make a cheaper shift kit
it would be nice if you can get fuel gage on the gs cap
I have one just like that,,,, not accurate shows me going 55mph when I’m actually going 25,,,,
speedo is in kph
Question, were can I get one that says mph
Just pick one of those up is the front wheel supposed to be a certain type I've got a beach cruiser but it's got the skinny Forks for some reason the mechanism slides over into the rest of the wheel
It should fit fine for most beach cruisers. Call our team at 1-800-317-0479, we'd be happy to help you figure this out in detail.
Right on the bike or in front?
What size bikes does the speedometer work on?
Most standard 26" wheel bicycles.
+BikeBerrycom Appreciate the reply my friend! Best Regards!👉👍✌
0:54 - that is not removing the front tire.
Geniuses don't even realize that the plastic bit at the bottom has a cap on one side and no cap on the other. Ever wonder what that cap is for? Yeah, Well right there embossed on the plastic it says it. R and L. That's right... the unit can be used on BOTH SIDES. You simply have to remove the cap from the proper side and put it on the other side that is not in use, then install. I am dumbfounded the people selling this product didn't know that. It's right there on the video... at 1:06. L (partially under his thumb) and R. ua-cam.com/video/y1cjUIk3vos/v-deo.html ... pfft. The Pros.
hey bro nice video i subrscribed. by any chance could you tell me the diameter of the part that goes to the fork? i really want to buy it but i dont know if it will fit my fork.. or anyone who has this product or similar, what's the diameter of the grey plastic part that goes on the fork? pleaseee
Right or left ?
So what do I do if I have a Springer front end? I wanted a better ride quality for something motorized..
Sadly bikeberry doesn't have this exact speedometer was trying to get the one in mph not kmh
Can i put this one my wheel when i have disc brakes
dont for get about fuel gages for the tanks or digital fuel gages
i use s bike computer tried one of these snd the gears stripped out in a week dont seem to be able to hold up to the speeds ate motorized. bikes can maintain
Why won’t it work with springer forks?
It didnt tighten enough and the spoke part isnt catching any tips?
Hi . help me to pay for the material how much l m in benin l want that..
Everyfing I like how he says it
Which engine kit works best for your BBR Ready Frame Bikes?
2 stroke
but 4 stroke can be used
what does bikeberry have for 2 stroke engines that don't fit the traditional way and i need to install the engine on the rear wheel.. like rear wheel engine mount / bracket?
In video it shows mph as the measurement of speed but your aite shows kmh is there a way i can fix mine from kmh to mph
You are screwed. Do what I did. Buy the KM/H one for the modern cable and modern drive gear the cable attaches to. Then on eBay find a nice vintage mph speedometer. Then you can attach it together. The bolts can be different sizes so I use 4 zip ties to keep the cable on the speedometer and it has be working great for the past 3 months! I also like to keep the speedometer under the handlebar too and not on top like in the video.
@@an2niotransitproductions813 just use the mph to kmh chart online
@@catsbyondrepair
Can’t do that while riding. Dividing everything by 1.6, need actual gagues but thx anyway.
@@an2niotransitproductions813 50 kmh is the same as 30 mph.
@@an2niotransitproductions813 um yeah you can I do it all the time.
Well can you actually sell them in mph cause, pretty much all of us live in us, and you only sell them in kmh
Is it accurate
would this work for a pocket bike?
the pics on bikeberry show kmh not mph...
What's that flange/bracket you've got on the intake to that engine? I've got the same 49cc 4stroke engine and I've been wanting to upgrade the carb, although I have issues with clearance :(
What about night ride light
I have an electric bike with 20" fat tires would it be accurate
How do you install a digital speedometer that I got from bikeberry
So it works from compressed air from the wheel moving
Those things are garbage! I made the mistake of buying two of them combined I got about 300 miles out of before they broke. There is little piece that goes on your spokes that spins with your wheels. There is a wire that kind of acts like a drive shaft that goes into the back of the speedometer. they are purely for looks.
I was gonna buy a digital one but they seem really gimmicky
but can i atach this to my go cart? the wheels are 10"
I have a bike with 12.5" wheels and I was wondering the same
I want to install a disk break on mu bike is it a good idea or na
If it works correctly
We try to provide excellent customer support in situations where it doesn't work as intended.
i prefer a digital bike speedometer had one of these pladtic ones it quit working in about a week the plastic gears cant handle the high speeds the get to hot snd strip out
We do have a digital speedometer in our inventory. Call us at 1-800-317-0479 or visit our web-store to find out more.
www.bikeberry.com/digital-speedometer.html#product_tabs_description_tabbed
yeah i have one on my friction drive kit works much better 400 on the speedometer on kit so far with no problems
Can I use a 26 inch speedometer on a 24 inch bike?
Yes but *all* the reading will be inaccurate to a significant degree
Do they still sell this speedometer in mph
"Wiff a speedometer..." lol
could this work with a chopper fork?
willa speedometer work on a bicycle with a quick release front tire
Good question. I just ordered same and I will check this. Should be fine
Want one of those. Wanna see those in action.
why is it that yours says MPH and on the website its kph
Couldnt you use your phone for a speedometer
Possibly for 26 inch wheels maybe a good idea. This must be too inaccurate for other dimensions !
The rpm of two vehicles moving at the same speed will be equal regardless of the size of the wheel if both measurements are taken at an equal distance from the centre of either wheel.
I bought a sunlite speedometer brand new installed it right and nothing happens I'm not sure if it's broke or what's going on please help
Give us a call at (800)317-0479 and we will be happy to help.
Those speedometers are crap. Vibration kills them.
You're the only one that agrees with me
Dude u said “right side of tire” and then put it on the left side .-. Help I am confused
You mean scam berry. They never send what you order nor do they issue refunds.
Can you mount this on the front wheel?
Yes, they mount directly to the front wheel.
BikeBerrycom i was wondering how to remove the nut from my front axle. no matter how hard i turn the nut it won’t come off
its a hub not a tire
Don't see any reason to buy a speedometer for 12 bucks if I can buy a bicycle computer which includes a speedometer and a lot of useful things either. However, I do like the design of a real speedometer with a dial and a stick. It looks gorgeous but is useless on a bike with max average speed 30 km/h. If you made a whole panel with this speedometer and things which bicycle computer has like a timer, LED, thermometer and average speed counter I would think about buying.
We will definitely take your advice into consideration. A bicycle computer is a great choice, we also carry digital speedometers with a few more functions. We recommend customers buy products that suit their needs and budget. Like your comment "it looks gorgeous," many customers have bought this speedometer for its large look that mimics the look from larger motorized vehicles.
i can see one main advantage of a mechanical speedometer, no cell batteries to worry with.
What is the price of a speedometer
We carry a variety of speedometers. Visit our website for more information on speedometers and other accesories.
