this aged really well. the french couldnt handle the physicality of the south africans, as usual. Some players looked scared to tackle or run against the boks. At this level they cant be scared, specially against the boks. They will hurt you good, as they did. The Etzebeth try is a good example. Three guys could not tackle him. Loved how the crowd was silenced.
Aside from the two tries, Cheslin Kolbe's defence of Thomas Ramos' try conversion attempt was the decisive action of the match. This sensational move deprived the French of the 2 points they needed to secure victory.

Second half 15 against 14 was the turning point. France looked a little headless tbh. Really missed Ntamack towards the end and SAs bench came through. I think NZ will just pip it if SA plays like they did early on.

That conversion that was blocked by Kolbe was one of the most important moments in Springboks rugby history !! It should be in every single highlight video!!!!!
With no doubt the videos show Kolbe started running before Ramos did, which is forbidden as u know, so it should have been shot again. Why the TMO did not tell it to the referree?

I was starting to be worried about the SH sides after the bad performance of Australia and the loss of Springboks and Kiwis to Ireland and France, respectively. Now I think Southern Hemisphere has the edge.
We love the All Blacks and Kiwis in general. Pretty sure the All Blacks will be in the final (but Argentina are going to make you work for not) but not sure about the England game. They are going to be hungry for some payback and will bring their absolute best.

I live in Cape Town South Africa 🇿🇦 in a ghetto where it's rough but when our play the nation stops & tune in to support the Springboks. Some brought out his projector & displayed it against a large white wall so our entire neighborhood came out to watch the game. Each time the boks scored you could hear the cars hooting & people in other surrounding areas cheering. Rugby is the one sport that unites this country...we are believe that walk by faith & they know South Africa is behind them despite the 80 000 French fans booing us

From an AB‘s supporter this was such an incredible effort from SA. This French team was a whole new beast to the one we faced in the opening pool game, and I’m glad it wasn’t us facing them in quarter-finals. But the amount of focus and mental discipline to take on such a powerful and well-oiled French team on their home turf is just elite. Congrats!

Both teams had lapses in judgment and both got the the rub of the green at times. This young French team can take this invaluable experience and reach new heights.

My heart nearly came out and complained as I was straining it from all the nervousness and excitement . I began counting down the seconds from the 79th minute and had my sisters help me count just to help me breathe. I was all emotional after the last whistle as I then realised things could have gone south had France not lost the ball. My heart goes out to the French, what a sad final moment that was considering they played that well till the last minute. World class perfomance that was!!

As a South African, this match was intense, I couldn't sit down for the first entire first half and I was thrilled when my team finally won. The way this match made me feel, reminds me a lot of how I felt during the 2022 FIFA World Cup final between France and Argentina. I'm a Messi fan, so I supported Argentina 'til the end. France in that match pushed an intense and crazy battle that just kept my heart racing. Argentina won in the end, and though I was excited that the team i supported won, I had a LOT of respect for France after that match, and in no doubt in my mind did I think they deserved to be champions. I felt the same with this match, supporting our representatives to 'til the end, and France pushed our team to the limit and were just dangerously close to winning. It doesn't matter what sport it is, France just doesn't seize to amaze me. French players really are just something else. I have ALL the respect in the world for France.

Big probs to the Springboks from an England fan. Even though I enjoyed seeing England beat Fiji on the same day (having lost earlier back in August), this was by far the best game I've seen so far in this World Cup, both teams played extremely well, but South Africa had the immense pressure of playing against a team in their home nation. In spite of all of that they came on on top in the end. I am so excited to see them play England later this week, and even though they'll almost certainly beat us (like in the RWC final in 2019), I hope we manage to play our best and go out with a bang against the Boks. Really proud to see them both go through to the Semi's.

This match elevated Rugby as a sport. As fans, we will never be satisfied with waiting 4 years for Rugby of this level again. The bloodlust is real 😂. I felt alive during that match! It was exhilarating.

And we play our best when our country needs us to. This was a magnificent game and both teams played their heart out. France was exceptional and it could have gone either way. That's the truth of it. The final we all deserved. It's a beautiful game. I'm overjoyed for my country. We needed this and have very little else at the moment. But France played beautifully too and deserve much praise.

I live in Cape Town South Africa 🇿🇦 in a ghetto where it's rough but when our play the nation stops & tune in to support the Springboks. Some brought out his projector & displayed it against a large white wall so our entire neighborhood came out to watch the game. Each time the boks scored you could hear the cars hooting & people in other surrounding areas cheering. Rugby is the one sport that unites this country...we are believe that walk by faith & they know South Africa is behind them despite the 80 000 French fans booing us

From an AB‘s supporter this was such an incredible effort from SA. This French team was a whole new beast to the one we faced in the opening pool game, and I’m glad it wasn’t us facing them in quarter-finals. My heart nearly came out and complained as I was straining it from all the nervousness and excitement . I began counting down the seconds from the 79th minute and had my sisters help me count just to help me breathe. I was all emotional after the last whistle as I then realised things could have gone south had France not lost the ball. My heart goes out to the French, what a sad final moment that was considering they played that well till the last minute. World class perfomance that was!!

As a South African, this match was intense, I couldn't sit down for the first entire first half and I was thrilled when my team finally won.
The way this match made me feel, reminds me a lot of how I felt during the 2022 FIFA World Cup final between France and Argentina. I'm a Messi fan, so I supported Argentina 'til the end. France in that match pushed an intense and crazy battle that just kept my heart racing. Argentina won in the end, and though I was excited that the team i supported won, I had a LOT of respect for France after that match, and in no doubt in my mind did I think they deserved to be champions.
I felt the same with this match, supporting our representatives to 'til the end, and France pushed our team to the limit and were just dangerously close to winning. It doesn't matter what sport it is, France just doesn't seize to amaze me. French players really are just something else. I have ALL the respect in the world for France.

Big probs to the Springboks from an England fan. Even though I enjoyed seeing England beat Fiji on the same day (having lost earlier back in August), this was by far the best game I've seen so far in this World Cup, both teams played extremely well, but South Africa had the immense pressure of playing against a team in their home nation. In spite of all of that they came on on top in the end. I am so excited to see them play England later this week, and even though they'll almost certainly beat us (like in the RWC final in 2019), I hope we manage to play our best and go out with a bang against the Boks. Really proud to see them both go through to the Semi's.
