    if you’re skeptical of beginning anything, that’s more of a reason to do it.
    i’ve been watching youtube since 2007 and have finally had the guts to create a youtube channel in 2023.
    just within a year, i’ve learned the business aspect of youtube, the content creation, the production, the entrepreneurship behind it, the psychology of youtube and most importantly the dedication and hustle.
    i’ll tell anywho who’s considering it to begin. we all have a story, why not share it?
    good luck to all the starting youtube channels out there.

    Amazing content, and I also wish I have watched this video before I started my own channel, but I guess it's never too late to learn and improve as a content creator. I also believe that right now easiest path is to go faceless. I can just simply focus on my content, like there is no need to get judged by some randoms because of my looks, voice, etc... Toughest part is starting channel and growing to that point of 1000 subs (I can recommend using a little bit of famester, as it helps a lot with this type of channel and it is generally really good service for growing your channel).

  • @jenwebbcreates

    the b-roll library is SUCH a good idea ! Can you share what app you use to organize it? It looked like it was stored on the cloud? I have been trying to figure out whether I want to keep all my old raw footage from filming (and continue to buy new hard drives to store it) or just delete everything, but keeping an organized library with only the clips I might need seems like the happy medium

  • @LindaNystorm
    @LindaNystorm 4 місяці тому +140

    I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I didn't use a lot of Fame - ster, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours).

    Different CPMs per niche or even company makes sense though, since there are big companies with lots of ad $$$ budget and there are smaller companies. Even as someone who works full time as a content creator and has been on UA-cam for years, there wonderful advice here.
    I was growing very fast when I first started my channel because I got to the point, had basic but clear thumbnails, and made detailed tutorial videos. Then I fell for advice that said to make an intro, give my followers a nickname, welcome them back and ask people to subscribe, comment and like at the start. This created community and some very lovely longstanding followers who watch every video in its entirety, BUT IT COMPLETELY KILLED MY CHANNEL GROWTH and I stagnated at 60k subs.
    I implemented ALL your suggestions in 1 video based on revamping a trending topic in my niche and put it out yesterday. Immediately the video is in the No.1 spot compared to the last 10, views are up 46%, click-through rate is up, majority of views are from non-subscribers, and I got a bunch of comments from new viewers saying how to-the-point and helpful the video was. The video is now climbing the search ranks and overtaking big-view videos by other creators on the same topic. THANK YOU! 🙏 I will be regularly implementing these strategies to get my growth back on track.

    Would love to see you do a video on UA-cam creators who've gained millions of subscribers but don't use flashy titles, thumbnails or hooks, and have minimal/no video editing, such as Sam Sulek, Thewizardliz and Dry Creek Wrangler School, to name a few. How have they gotten so popular without doing any of the tactics you mention in your video?

    • @TheSamSamShow
      @TheSamSamShow 6 місяців тому +7

      From what I have learned over the years- people that don’t have to “follow the rules” are very interesting people. They have interesting lives and have great personalities. Do those creators follow this? 🤔

    • @LoveandSoul7
      @LoveandSoul7 6 місяців тому +4

      I notice they tap into their uniqueness and authenticity, what differentiates them from the rest...which makes them very relatable and don't need many bells and whistles to capture the attention and heart of others. They have an inner confidence that shines through, even if they also struggle with self-doubt. They are willing to present themselves just as they are. They become their own "niche", like many artists do as well

      oh cool! ive never heard of any of those creators other than Thewizardliz and can't wait to check them out! all creators are different, and some CARRY because of their personality / authenticity. some are also a breath of fresh air because of the minimal editing. Try what works for you and be willing to experiment! Although i will say with Thewizardliz - she has some pretty damn good hooks. she also has BRUTAL honesty that most people won't say out loud. i think that's what makes her different and refreshing. she's polarizing!

    ❤ Vanessa, love your much needed videos and invaluable info! I spent 2.5 hours today so far watching your many videos , taking notes on key points etc. only thing is: I wished you would speak a bit slower with punctuations to give all your valuable info to take hold in my head and ears. I was so overwhelmed with trying to retain and get a hold of your last sentence but realized I don’t have time to linger because the next sentence is rushing in and be gone in a flash, at the end of it, I was so exhausted trying to catch up. I felt so stressful over this “ where is the fire?” Approach, I finally decided to stop to write this message to you. Hope you get to read it. I am thinking of starting a UA-cam channel but feeling so intimidated in every step, in fact, I even think it maybe too late for me to do so. The market out there is already saturated with ideas and UA-cam channels! Somehow tho, my desire of doing UA-cam still burning in my head daily so I think I need to let my passion leads me. I thank you for everything and all ideas & info I am fortunately get to learn from you. Blessings…🎉

      What specifically is contradictory? Just sharing tips on how to grow. Whatever number of views that means for the individual. I don’t see a problem in sharing strategies to support creators in their growth, whatever that means to them! I don’t think me coming back should mean I cant share any strategies that have helped me personally to save time and still succeed!

A reminder to everyone take it one little step at a time and slowly add the pieces together. I tried to do all of this previously on an older channel and burned out fast.

    Hi 👋 Just some feedback. I'm less than 20 secs into the video, and already I had to go back to the beginning to hear everything clearly, then at 52 secs I stopped it because I found Vanessa's commentary going way too fast, and the graphics moving fast over the screen. Vanessa you use to speak slower. I'm not sure if you're aware. Thanks, I'll continue to watch the rest of the video.

    I love this video and learned so much! Thank you for sharing ⭐️ I have one question about shorts and long videos on UA-cam. If you post shorts 3 times a month and a video one time a month is that considered being consistent? Or do we have to post 4 long videos a month to be considered consistent in the UA-cam algorithm? I’ve been struggling with 😅

    Now that you've created a video on how to become a "Content Creator" using expensive gear and costly retail software - Let's SEE YOU crreate one for the absolute beginner on a seriously LOW income budget of say, less than $950.00 USD (that's total monthly income - bills, food, etc), and uses only FREE software and budget friendly recording, video, audio, etc. gear. Create something like that and you'll likely see a lot of people watching that video! ~Alexa Shaw, Just A Simple Photographer

    I’m only asking this because I’m also Canadian, maybe it’s more complicated than a simple UA-cam reply could cover but:
    Do you recommend Canadians to go through the process to register as an LLC in America? (Rather than incorporate just in Canada)?

    I don't like seeing years on titles. Maybe I have tons of bad experiences with recycled or plainly old content that got a new title, but the year number puts me off. I blame blogs for that, but UA-cam tends to beat blogs in this game. Mentionning the year makes me think "they copy-pasted their old content ot they AI-ed it". For example "How to ... in 2024" would be a video I'd avoid in favour of a "How to ..." video.
