Yamato deserved better. I don't like how the Boruto story still overworks him into being a watchdog over Orochimaru 24/7. He deserves the chance to just retire and chill with Kakashi and Guy. The over working is making him look old even though he is supposed to have low level regeneration, which is supposed to make him look young. Idk, maybe his wood style doesn't give him regen.
And it adds insult to injury when they have Yamato keep watch over the guy that originally experimented on him. I would have thought in light of that Hokage Naruto would have found another role for him. The guy can't catch a break.
You know yamato is like late 30’s early 40’s and kakashi isn’t retired and the only reason guy retired is bc he’s literally disabled and he obviously takes pride in what he does for the leaf a shinobi must endure or did we not watch the same series
Issjug calm your rasp, we chill here
@@TheGalCantHelpIt agreed
His wood style looks artificial compared to how Hashirama's looks
My favorite Yamato moment was when Naruto confronted Ay before the kage summit and Ay didn't want to none of Naruto's pleading, but Yamato just reminds Ay about the Hyuga incident and why the Cloud still exists.
Very cool
Yamatos background story filler was low key nuts
Ive always seen Yamato as a sort of good guy version of Obito. Both were normal children who were essentially kidnaped by powerful shinobi who were experimented on with hashirama cells and essentially turned into the tools of the shinobi who tested on them. Only difference is, Obito had nothing to pull him out of that situation whereas Yamato did eventually meet people who looked out for him
"The only difference"🤣
@@laskurtanceixixii well, yknow, give or take a nihilistic objective which can hypothetically solve all the worlds problems and a whole heap of extra corpses left by its requirements vs being a black ops agent
@@ASmartNameForMe didn't understand le bit
@@laskurtanceixixii basically Obito had been presented by Madara a chance to fix everything he saw wrong with the world, the endless cycles of death and war with innocent people and children being slaughtered in droves, and put that mission above EVERYTHING. Yamato was just told “do what I say because we’re the roots of the leaf”. He didn’t have any personal desire or connection with this goal, he just followed orders making it far easier for him to break out of that mindset, whereas Obito staked his entire existence and every unforgivable crime he committed on his plan.
@@ASmartNameForMe perfectly explained, Obito is King
Yamato has a badass Kekkei Genkai, but he was wasted when the Fourth War started.
Nah he was always a plot device, especially in the war arc.
I wanted to see Yamato and Hashirama encounter.
Not only the most tragic but also wasted character I wished Yamato would got respect and spotlight he rightfully deserved
Spotlight? You’re joking right
@@izzjugg1709 I mean that since fourth ninja world war 4 has started he became sidelined and almost never seen or heard from again
@@hattanalshutaifi4587 bc he got captured before it started to make the zetsu stronger lol
So tragic they reused his story for Kawaki
. . . They did
Boruto is such a fever dream lol
Kawaki is also baby
His story is heartbreaking
Yamato was a plot devices. He was never a character. Just a guy who possesses Hashirama's power.
Sad but true. Adds even more to his tragic story, even his creator (kishimoto) just used him and discarded him like trash
Bc he was about his work why is that sad not everybody had to have mega fights during the arcs he was literally bought in to suppress naruto and that’s what he did it’s right in your face bro
@@izzjugg1709 you’re missing the point bro there’s nothing wrong with him doing his work, he’s a shinobi after all.
Lol. Who isn't a plot device in a story? Literally every charter is. The whole point of a protagonist is a character who constantly drives the plot forward.
@@kidsyx facts
Basically, Yamato is Naruto's babysitter.
I want to be the yamato to you.
You're gonna study so much that you can recite the entire dictionary from memory alone
I think the worst part was that the wood style was way too hyped and then we see Yamato basically use it only for house making and occasionally some seals. Personally i wouldve tove to see him perform wood dragon or smaller weaker version of Deep Forest jutsu. The disappointment really came when he was taken with ease by Kabuto and became nothing more than a "extra" for a white zetsu
A part of me always thought of Kimimaro as one of these most tragic characters {idk if most tragic but up there}
The fact that through entire war NOBODY thought to go find him? Like not only does this guy have a useful power that nobody else has but he’s also just a good dude. It seems out of character for Naruto to not send at least one fucking clone to go rescue him? Unless he did and I missed it?
Imagine if Hiruzen found Yamato first.
Always love to see yall talk about my fav characters. Good shit
Damn that’s sad as fuck that he only wanted to be captain of team 7
Filler ish
Imagine if Yamato also had a Sharingan with Wood Release
Imagine if the series could make focus on other jitsu instead of just wood release and sharingan
Honestly I think sage mode would have been a better ability to focus on.
Oh yes Yamato with a sage mode. Wich one? I really like the idea of the one of Katsuyu's world. An other idea?
@@viyusavery248 this is dumb but go on Ik you probably haven’t watched the series in years
Hashirama's sage mode ofc, but with Yamato's version
Yamato & Sai are nothing but plot device.
No if you read the series they’re bought in for a purpose and fulfil there purposes bro let’s stop this
But technically what are characters except plot devices in stories?
@@demi-ladyideas1239good characters feel natural in the story and not forced, janked in just to fulfill 1 goal. Think of the Black zetsu "plot twist". Feels very alien and out of place. Now think of itachi's secret. You can understand that more and believe it because itachi was established as intelligent and cryptic from the very start so him being double spy makes sense.
Actually phenomenal video. Makes me appreciate Yamato more
Remember when Naruto outsmarted Yamato?
Damn. Poor guy.
I loved Yamato a lot bc my favorite aspects of the manga were concepts of Hashirama Cells and Wood ralease, specially the horror aspects of these ideas in the story
From things like Wood realase starting growing like cancerous growths from Danzou when he stoped having control of his chakra, to how Yamato was only able to obtain such incredible powers by being tortured and experimented on as a child
I would have loved to see more of Yamato, maybe having him be a parallel to hashirama in some ways? Or he interacting with the god of shinobi himself
I dunno, i simply love this dead eyed sub teacher _
I liked him so much when i was a kid watching naruto he was soo cool and chill
Yo Kato, when are you gonna make that shino video about how OP he actually was 👍.....ps I love Yamato
Yamato should've become Naruto's real sensei, especially as Harashima's living clone (Naruto is Hara's reincarnation, pretty fitting) and him having his improved arm through Harashima's cells. Him and Kakashi never really clicked, Kakashi was too biased towards Sasuke. After Kakashi realised that Naruto was Minato's son/nephew (nephew would've been a better twist) he should've realised mistreating Naruto's training when he was younger was a stupid move, and THEN Kakashi would've taken Naruto seriously. But no, after the bridge arc, back to Team 7 because the teens in the 2000s couldn't let go of Part 1 yet. In hindsight, Kishi was a coward.
Yamato was just too powerful of a character, really. I hate that he's literally became a joke when he has so much potential
As a kid I always wondered why this guy never like got his moment always made me sad
"the most tragic character in Naruto" holy cow that is a high bar, hype for this!
Imagine Yamato fighting Kimimaro.
Yamato would dog him
At first I didn't like him i missed having kakashi who was this care free cool person but I think yamato was more helpful for team seven after losing sasuke they needed someone very cautious and caring for them .
Probably my favourite story in the entire series haha. Short but epic
She should’ve hokage kakashi right hand man
Yamato was my favorite
Yamato has been my crush since I first saw him.❤🔥
Also thats really freaking sad
Thanks for shining the light on this character - Yamato definitely doesn't get enough attention considering what he was able to do in the series. At least he got to have his background fleshed out in an anime filler, lol.
yay some Yamato love
I wonder if he has hashirma cells or literally just wood release. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him using the healing factor
my guy is just like code and kawaki, wow.
4:09
Yamato: and that’s why we shouldn’t fight our people
Danzo: tf you just say to me bwoy
I wonder why madara’s use of hashirama cells on obito worked so much better than the leaf’s on all the test subjects, maybe it was because of the gedo statue or it was because obito was an uchiha and senju and uchiha dna just work well together?
This video needs to be seen wow I will never take Yamato for granted again this analysis though short speaks volumes I think I'm a Yamato stand now😂🌲🌳🌴
Yamato is one of my favorite characters!
kinda glad yamato didn’t fight during rhe war. He’s been through enough lol
Rob from RTTV should react to this lol.
Facts
Naruto was alone as fuck in his childhood and so was sasuke in his early adolescence and Yamato was alone most of his life. This is gives us a lesson: no matter how fucked up you are there is always going to be someone who has it worse than you.
Furthermore, If you think you are going through something only you happen to know, remember that, there may be others like you so keep searching.
So what happened to Yamato at the end? is he dead? I was watching the video to find out.
What weird is that in Boruto he doesn't have any offsprings. Wouldnt the cells and wooden jutsu pass down? They done even have to show the mother, most dont already, or she could have died or bet yet was of a clan that strengthen wood style making a offspring a potential. It seems like the writer forgot this power existed and decided not to build on that. Well thats not true based on popularity and money went the easy route.
Wished they gave him a team in Boruto, it would be pretty cool and imo it was a missed oportunity.
Bro Orochimaru was literally a demon. Kidnaps 60 children and Kills them all except Yamato... Then later gets a single mom arch in boruto...
I say Anko and Itachi are worse off. Especially Anko. Such an interesting character whose appearance hinted at the darker side of ninja missions as well as her ties to Orochimaru plus her abilities and she had loads of potential. Even how she flirts with Naruto hinted at a romance, one MUCH better than Sakura and stronger than Hinata. It’s sad that Anko only gets to shine in fanfics.
I have a question
How did Hiruzen know about His mame( Yamato)
Yamato in Onepiss: 🤮🌈💩
Yamato in Shippuden: 💪👽😊
When I saw Yamato the first time, I thought he could be from Zelda Wind Waker. Same with Boruto...
How does Yamato have wood ninjutsu but is still getting slapped by someone like start of Shippuden Sasuke. Bro ain't him. Yamato had no reason to be in the story tbh, Anko easily could have been the product of Orochimaru and his immoral practices on human experimentation. She was like the first person who got a curse mark and it never went anywhere.
Bc yamato wasn’t strong that’s why he got slapped by sasuke and you have to remember when they caught up to sasuke they were all depleted and second of all anko was an established failure bro give it a rest with her she appeared in less then 20 chapters yet everyone seems to think she was supposed to be that guy
Yamato isn't a character for flashy fight, he's more designed as the "average guy with a strange power", with a funny dynamic with Naruto and Kakashi. This role didn't match with Anko, who look more like a Naruto from T&I.
I thought it was his art design tbh. I never had no hate toward Yamato. But he looks as if he was drawn to NOT be important, and so that’s how I always saw him🤷🏽♀️
I honestly love the guy. It’s a shame he became one of the “wasted potential characters”.
This sucks I wish Kishimoto or Ikemoto could’ve played an important role in Boruto like talk with Kawaki like they very similar in every way now plz can I get a video on this
Yamato doesn’t know kawaki he’s on his own mission
@@izzjugg1709 in spying on Orochimaru
Yamato shoulda joined the strawhats.
Only because nobody remembers Gen'yūmaru.
All of this just goes to show how much of a weak leader Hiruzen was.
Yo, This video was 🔥 makes you think?
Man hiruzen really sucked. Even when he's helpful its in the most bare minimum way. The second you catch danzo trying to kill your own villagers should be the second he kills danzo
The existance of Yamato creates a plot hole.
So he inherits Hashirama´s Wood Style because of his DNA...
yet Tsunade, his actual direct relative, is reduced...
to punching things really hard?
No plot hole here : the fact she didn't inherit of any kekkei denkai (fck horrible to write this) is a part of her character. She the one who gain the sannin level by herself (in the sens, without genetic help).
@@demi-ladyideas1239 no it wasn't.
It is a plot hole and another sign of how shitty Kishimoto is with his female characters
Yes he is but you don't give arguments here. Can you please?
@@diegoaristizabal6594 not every descendant is going to inherit a kekkei genkai. look at the kaguya clan for example only one person in that clan could use dead bone pulse
Got taken over by *guruguru*
All of that was hella sad, but kakashi prob had it a lil worse
I’m early af
Yamato definitely shud have been wayy stronger but he still trash. He got folded in his only actual fight vs sasuke i'm not counting the flash back anbu stuff. He definitely wasted potential
He looks like a girl when his hair is long seems to be a running theme in the anime
It's not about "gender confusion" like Haku here, but a reminder of his Hashirama cells.
Femboy
(Little erratum if it's one : Kakashi wasn't made "simple" jonin directly after the Uchiha massacre if it's what was implied, but one or 2 years after minimum. By the idea that there is one genin test by year, he failed 2 and took the third group, there was at least 3 years past before Sasuke genin test. Uchiha massacre happened when he was 8, and Sasuke past genin at 12. So there was one or 2 years between the massacre and when Hiruzen choose to make Kakashi simple jonin again.)
