Also modern setting; of course nobody could prevent the isekai/fantasy saturation that would come in the 2010s but yeah, you hardly see popular shonen nowadays that isn’t somehow based in modern times or like Demon Slayer that is in a very specific time period unlike Naruto, One Piece or Dragon Ball that are fantasy lands with some similarities with our Earth.
@@biazacha Chuuni as a genre really kicked off in the early-mid 2000s in otaku media, with notable works like Fate, Dies Irae, Ayakashibito, Comyu, etc..., and a core part of chuuni is the urban fantasy setting where the MC gets pulled into life/death magic battle but in the modern era. Bleach feels like a proto-chuuni work with its styling and over the top flair, even though it ended up moved away from the urban fantasy setting into straight fantasy with its first major arc. Though ironically its after Bleach moved away from its urban fantasy setting is when Kubo started really ramping up the style points.
I think because bleach's beginnings through soul society arc was so strong. And so many kids/young adults could see it blossoming and knew it had insane potential. But it got dragged out so long, and recycled and fumbled pacing, by the time kubo found his footing again, many readers and viewers had moved on.
Arrancar Arc was where Bleach peaked, although Soul Society & Blood War were great too. I don't even know whether my own series is Shonen or Shoujo although it takes inspiration from Bleach along with several other series.
@@Jazzman4824 this is literally such an outdated opinion. Bleach never once lost its footing only maybe towards the last part of the tybw because Kubo was sick and had to end the manga somehow. The parallels between the arrancar arc and soul society was done on pupose in order to show the nuance duality between Ichigo’s shinigami and hollow side it never got recycled. And heck the battle with Aizen, the fullbringer arc and tybw was all great overall arcs.
Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and Chainsaw Man definitely all have those Bleach vibes in terms of the enemies fought being inspired by hollows. I'd say the squad structure of JJK and CSM is more similar to Naruto's, but the Hashira in Demon Slayer are clearly inspired by Bleach's head captains.
The Hashira structure and white robes yh. AND Muzan's upper demons too, specially with them being ranked by strength, which is obviously a nod to the Espada.
@@commirevo89 I will always know Black Clover as Berserk for kids, but not really as an insult. I think it works really well. It’s pretty much Berserk but a normal fantasy instead of a dark fantasy
Bleach is my favourite out of the big 3 and I’m happy the newer Mangakas take inspiration from Kubo’s work. Props to them for mentioning him coz he often doesn’t get his flowers. Also thanks to YYH for inspiring Bleach🐐
@thomasffrench3639 Fair enough; Saint Seiya def influenced Bleach's fight scenes and emphasis on weaponry. But YYH def did more for the worldbuilding and, as pointed out in the video, Yusuke was the template for Ichigo. Really, Bleach is the child of YYH and Saint Seiya that grew up idolizing Uncle Berserk.
When Bleach returned with TYBW, the internet got to see the dominance of one of the Big Three. During that cour, Bleach was talked about everywhere; Twitter, Reddit, UA-cam, etc.
It would be perfect if they did remaster the original Bleach anime with similar art style as the TYBW with no filler, no censorship, and add the important character moments and scenes that Studio Pierrot refused to animate to further a shipping agenda.
@@Elegantwoes You saying this spontaneously reminded me of the Scene in the Heuco Mundo Arc where Szayelaporro (Eigth Espada) uses Gabriel to rebirth himself from Nemu. If you haven't seen the manga variant of it, it is MUCH more gruesome
Itadori's design defintely reminded me of Ichigo down to his pink hair because Ichigo in the beginning was called "berry head" cause his name translates to strawberry.
Bleach is my number one favorite manga series and JJK specifically drew me in with how much it reminded me of Bleach at a time where I was hoping and waiting for some news on an anime return
I want to point out that there's one key difference between both Naruto/One Piece and Bleach, and also series inspired by Naruto/One Piece and series Inspired by Bleach Back in the 80s, the three biggest properties from Shonen Jump were what should be considered the fathers of Shonen today, Saint Seiya, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and Dragon Ball. Most people only look at Dragon Ball for this title, but that's just because Saint Seiya never became big in english speaking countries and Jojo only did so recently. Saint Seiya is one of the most influential anime in both Japan, the Middle East, Europe and South America, in South America it's only second to Dragon Ball in popularity/Influence. My main point is the reason why Bleach and series inspired by it (Jujutsu Kaisen, Tokyo Ghoul, Demon Slayer) feel so different to most other Shonen, is because Bleach's *main inspiration* has always been Saint Seiya. Kubo has said this multiple times and even in recent interviews has made references and jokes about Saint Seiya characters (theres one joke he made about Cygnus Hyoga being hot that people post a lot). Bleach has an entirely different DNA Set from the rest of Shonen, because most series are inspired by Dragon Ball, with arcs of "becoming powerful to defeat the current enemy, training until the stronger enemy shows up, include a lot of trauma and expand on backstories, rinse and repeat" while Saint Seiya's approach was more like a straight line from beginning to end where a group of characters goes on a series of checkpoints they have to complete, sometimes losing allies and sometimes gaining them. Biggest example is the 12 Houses Arc of Saint Seiya, most likely the most legendary arc in any Shonen, where the heroes defeat a specific number of antagonists while going through different predicaments and conflicts. Normally these fights are 1v1s where one of the underdog Heroes has to fight an opposing legendary knight with lots of experience and maturity behind them, most of the time being defeated but learning a lesson or being allowed to continue on their quest by the knight himself. The entire time in the background of the Arc we see the 12 Knights having internal struggle and issues within their hierarchy, tensions between them being high, ending up with one of them being a traitor and the final villain of the arc. The similarities of the 12 Houses Arc with both the Soul Society, Arrancar/Hueco Mundo, TYBW Arcs, and the entire of Jujutsu Kaisen, Tokyo Ghoul and Demon Slayer (especially Demon Slayer with it's Infinity Castle Arc) is extremely felt. The reason these series feel so familiar and different to most other Shonen is because at their core they "descend" from an entirely different type of Action Adventure than the rest of Shonen.
Just gonna disrespect Yu Yu Hakusho when we both know that was the true inspiration for Bleach. Saint Seya was sprinkled in but YYH was the main catalyst for Bleach
Also simply stylistically Kubos style has been alot more influential than the other two. I love Odas drawing and think it is heavily underrated, but if you look at the manga of the 00s and 10s they all took inspiration by the clean linework, cool poses and character designs of bleach.
@@mhead1117 lol I never would say that. Oda has been one of my greatest influences stylistically in my own drawings and I think there is barely anyone who can draw movement and fluidity as well as he does. I love One Piece and I love Odas art
no they didnt the fuck, outside of the fact that the clean linework thing started in the 90s, decade before bleach started, it was inspired by dragon ball lmfao, the aestetic and designs were also not a bleach thing, in the early 2000s and 90s almost every anime had fashionable clothing and attires of the time, even more than today mangas, actually i would say that bleach artwork takes from naruto more than anything, compare the shippuden arc style to bleach later arcs and youll see, mostly in the noses, mouths and shapes
There are actually 3 more parts coming out, not just one. For a total of 4 parts. And maybe we'll get a Hell Arc. That last part is more of a hope than anything else.
@@thewanderingartistsKubo, the creator of Bleach dropped an extra length chapter 2 years ago, 5 years after Bleach ended. It seemed to be a set up for an entire new arc set over 10 years after the final battle at the end of the manga. He has said he will release more chapters but we have yet to get more or even hear more about it
I never watched any of the Big 3, I actually watched/read a lot of the new series first; Demon Slayer, JJK, MHA, Black Clover, Chainsaw Man, and going back to see the original Big 3 I have to say it is astounding how the new series reference and take inspiration from Bleach much more than the other 2 and I don't why more people aren't talking it Good video btw 👍
Because Bleach is the punching bag for the other 2 fandoms. Its sad af because Bleach didnt deserve the treatment it got and still gets... TYBW return shut alot of them up but you still have a few trashing Bleach as not one of the big 3. Its ok for others to think of it as weaker or less liked than the other 2 but it earned and deserved its spot as one of the big 3 for how well it was done. I myself rank naruto 3 one piece 2 and Bleach 1 but OP and Naru are just as good too.
When I talk to someone that does not know Black Clover, I generally refer to it as "Bleach with Naruto's story", but the thing that most makes me say "ok this is a Bleach reference" is domain expansion in jjk, it really gives you the vibes of bankai and every activation of domain expansions are insanily cool, just like Bleach's bankai.
Truth be told Naruto's power up is too vague as opposed to Bleach being more uniform. And Bleach Bankai system is just badass. Naruto's powers are like One Piece pre haki or it's like Hunter X Hunter powers. Bleach is more uniform except for different shikai and bankai.
It's not about solid power that I am talking about. I am talking more about power scaling, it is hard on both cases because of the unique power systems. People have different nen abilities that makes it hard to say who is stronger at times.@@non0n704
I started watching bleach when I was 12, back in the days when anime was still not considered cool and when other anime fans call it trash. Now Im 31. There is not a single day from that day that I have not listen to, watched or thought anything bleach related. Bleach is my number 2 anime after FMA but damn bleach is just so influential. Thank God for bleacg
They realized how Bleach is relatable in real life actually. Most animes of today are more attracted to realism than high fantasy plus Bleach's power hierarchy structure is somewhat iconical and more realistic.
It’s funny you mentioned Gojo as being seen as a Kakashi clone when in terms of personality he’s far closer to Urahara. It’s just the hair. Bleach is starting to get more credit after a long time of getting none so I think it’s good to explain why it’s such an influence. It’s often said that Bleach is “style over substance”. But people forget that someone has to draw this stuff and style matters. Oda’s art and world is really specific and hard to replicate without copying and Kishimoto’s story structure is more easy to build off of than his art and world for the same reason. Bleach’s art and world mixes fantasy and reality in a way that’s appealing and memorable. So it makes sense that artists would go more in that direction over time. I think that’s why Black Clover gets a lot of “Naruto with wizards” criticism whether it’s fair or not. While JJK, My Hero, and Chainsaw Man don’t get it as much even though they took just as much. It’s also hard not to look at Kubo’s crazy character roster splash pages and not want a cast of characters as cool as his.
Wht similiarities do u see in urahara and gojo? To me urahara was a secretly strong, hidden bloodlust kind of character and gojo is a goofy nonchalant "yup im the strongest" kind of character (Whoops nvm I was thinking of unohana)
Not just the hair. The eye cover, the special eyes, the role as a sensei, e.t.c. I think would call him a Kakashi clone but he is inspired by Kakashi just as much as he is by the giga-chad, Urahara.
Gojo inspiration come from One The examinators of The chunin exames from Naruto .Gege akutami The creator of Jujutsu kainsen yall about This in a interview
Yeah personality wise I see the similarities but he has more in common with Kakashi narrative wise -Both were part of a Trio where their dark haired friend turned evil after seeing the "truth" -Both become teachers to a main set of 3 students -Both have special eyes -Both mentor a student with dark hair that they act like a parental figure to (Debatable for kakashi but still.)
It's just a theory, but most of the shounen (Toriko and Fairy Tail for example) that were released during the era where the big 3 ran together had a more of a happy-go-lucky vibe reminiscent of an One Piece/Naruto style, especially One Piece, I believe the modern shounen, using Bleach as a catalyst, was born of the saturation of this kind of shounen.
That makes sense even though Fairy Tail was never inspired by any other anime other than Dragon Ball(And don't give me ONE PIECE) despite the reminisce.
Bleach subtle character development and story telling are the things that keeps me rewatching it over and over again. I used to think Bleach is just a bunch of cool characters doing cool things, but it can't be further from the truth.
It's kind of crazy how much more influential Bleach is. I can name a couple of manga that got influenced by Naruto, but i can name at least nine influenced by Bleach that you didn't mentioned (Psyren, Beelzebub, World Trigger, Busou Renkin, Kuroko no Basket, Black Torch, Kurokuroku, SWOT, Sengoku ARMORS. Maybe, even Soma or Nisekoi). It's even crazier when i think about One Piece, because i can't really name even one manga where One Piece influence is very noticeable. Probably, closest to One Piece are Toriko and Fairy Tail, but even then outside of the "weird world" Toriko and OP are not that similar.
I feel like at this point 2 most influential battle manga are Bleach and JoJo. I feel like JoJo is more influential, but it might feel that way, because JoJo was around for far longer.
@@iwatchDVDsonXbox360 I would say that Dragon Ball and Fist of the North Star are more influential, although FotNS can be replaced by JoJo, they are pretty neck and neck
@@thomasffrench3639 dragon ball inspired the big III, fist of the north star inspired jojo (until part 3 then it became weird to me) and berserk JUST THAT
It's just Hard to recreate the elements of one piece without straight up copying the whole thing Character designs, development, world building and many more things Oda loves to keep everything unique and unpredictable Still one piece does inspire many creators in other ways outside of creating the story
I noticed that Mob Psycho had a similar theme to Bleach. Ichigo had to accept himself, his hollow power. He thought of it as a power he tapped into as a last resprt that he hated. But he had to overcome that selfhate to be a complete person who can control himself. Same for Mob. Mob feared his true power and had to accept it and integrate it to control it and become a person who loves himself. I don’t know if Mob Psycho got that from Bleach, but I found that interesting.
that's exaclty what I thought bout the ending of mob psycho, dude, and everyone was like "MOB PSYCHO HAS THE BEST ENDING" and quoting bout this fact, and I'm pretty sure if we talked bout the similarity of themes between bleach and mob, they won't believe it. That said, bleach will be forever underrated.
@@strongstateofmind5420 It also reminds me of how byron mode naruto broke the internet when byron mode literally follows the same concept of mugetsu. I am a lover of many series and movies and I see how they make many references to anime (usually naruto, evangelion, dragon ball) but sometimes I feel that many creators of this type of shows take concepts from bleach and it never receives the recognition it deserves, I mean It could be a coincidence or that I'm "exaggerating", but if that was the case, It would only be validating the fact that Kubo did that before..
spoiler that brings the similarities between ichigo and itadori closer to each other: Both had a major/main antagonist set in motion their birth and making them bridge their blood with the blood of the main enemies (ichigo having hollow powers and Itadori being the perfect cursed womb with an unrealized CET)
I promise you nothing has influenced my art more than Kubo's. From middle school to soon my senior year I would consistently get a "That looks like Ichigo" to the point where it would upset me because I kept trying to make an original character.
Bleach is way more relatable especially for teenagers and an older audience and also bleach knows how to take something from somewhere else and make it its own thing instead of copy and pasting it
I heard somewhere that in the fnal arc Kubo rejects to change the plot to how his editor want the story to go and goes his original ideas. That 's something worth respecting for
Bleach is definitely something a lot of people have come to appreciate as they've gotten older. A lot of themes in Bleach are much more relatable and resonant with older audiences than those of say, One Piece or Naruto, whose core themes were initially rooted in much more child-like wonder and issues.
That explains why Im obsessed with JJK, I immediately got into it first episode then the rest of manga. Its little wonder since I love Bleach more then the other big 3 and I love JJK now morr then the other dark 3
If I see a bleach video from those other from our community. I always check videos and if I dont see a bleach video in Iffy. So I clicked this and was happy I did. You got one!
Lmao, the most influential anime from the 80s is Dragon Ball and by extension Dragon Ball Z since it came out in the late 80s. No Mangaka alive today grew up not watching DB and being big fan of it.
@@Morijin-ek2tm Considering it's size in Japan, I'd say only guys like mountain hermits could have lived their childhoods without experiencing Dragon Ball.
I feel like a lot of those aspects you mentioned are things manga before bleach already did. Yu yu hakusho is what gave the characters a lot of style with regular clothing which is what inspired works like bleach and others after it. The demon inside I feel like is much more of an inspiration from naruto than bleach, I mean most people see it as a naruto thing than a bleach thing. And the whole demon killing secret organization has always been a thing in anime even back then with stuff like soul eater and others. Other than Kenpachi I don’t really see much of bleach in many of these new series and the only one that you were able to attach a lot of bleach to was jjk, alot of the other stuff is just general anime tropes
Soul Society arc is similar to the Sanctuary arc in Saint Seiya. 13 Squads and their role in the story were strongly inspired by 12 Gold Saints. I think Kubo has said that he was inspired by Saint Seiya so Bleach is also inspired by an anime. Everything's inspired by something that came before it as you said and it's true.
@@DeviousXcttheir has been some toxicity within the bleach fandom as in who will win between 2 characters and such, and who has the stronger form and such as well(note, I love bleach so much, my second favorite anime)

I think one thing that makes Bleach more "influential" is how simple the actual premise is. It's not to insult Bleach, but the "DNA" is actually quite simple to replicate and to be fair, it has been done in the past too. One Piece is extremely tough to just get inspiration from, and everything Naruto influences, everyone is so quick to brush aside.
I find it odd that no one mentioned Saint Seiya influence as a foundation for Bleach. The Gotei 13 hierarchy, the power system and the Soul Society arc are heavily inspired by SS
10:13 while technically correct that Bleach will end after the 2nd part of the TYBW arc, it's a bit misleading because Bleach has about 50 episodes planned in total and the 2nd part will only contain about as many episodes as the 1st part. Which means there's still parts 3 and 4, that will come after the 2nd part, and after that the anime will end until further notice.
The fact that Naruto fans say "Gojo is just kakashi 2.0" is just plain stupid in my opinion. Kakashi and Gojo have nothing in common personality wise, besides white hair and eye powers. Gojo has more in common in personality with Urahara than kakashi. Sukuna's design and powers is clearly inspired by Grimmjow, it's really cool. And JJK is NOT what bleach should have been. JJK is JJK, Bleach is Bleach.
Gojo also has nothing in common with Urahara. He has his own personality, not similar to either Kakashi or Urahara. The design was borrowed not from Kakashi, but from Tonbo Tabitake, as Gege himself said.
may I add the obvious influence of bleach's yoruichi and soifon's dynamic (soifon being "why didn't you take me with you??" when yoruichi fled the soul society) to maki and mai (mai being "why didn't you fall with me?" when maki left the zenins) also both pairs (soifon and mai mostly) had some a bit of codependency going on with the other (yoruichi and maki) and also heard from others how black clover's zenon took inspo as well with ulquiorra's segunda etapa form??
I think it's also a bit of karmic justice tbh that Shonen Jump now has to live with the fact that they cut one of the most influential parts of the B3 short
TBH I watched one piece as a kid and it was cool no doubt but I never could really get into it. Naruto was one of my top favorites as a kid going into highschool but after Shippuden I didn't care anymore. I don't care about thier kids. Bleach on the other hand I want more, I wasn't happy with the TYBW ending but I understand because of Tite Kubo's illness. Im so glad he's back and that they gave TYBW the anime it so rightly deserves. Now I'm looking for the hell arc that I really hope happens and will eventually be turned into an anime. Fingers crossed ! Bleach has had that much of an impact on me. Outside of Dragon ball and DBZ, and for me because I'm a chick Sailor moon. These three shows are what made me get into anime and drawing to begin with as a little kid before I even knew how to write my name good.
10:12 theres 4 parts in TYBW each have 13 episodes for a total of 52 . And no , Bleach is not ending amytime soon . Kubo said that he will ( hopefully ) animate the novels and he even wrote and published the first chapter of a new arc called no breathes from hell or the hell arc for short and from what we got , it is shaping up to become the peak of Bleach .
it can't be more than a little coincidence that Sakuna, when inside of Yuji: dresses in a white robe. although personally, i prefer Zangetsu's almost entirely muted look; with the sole exception of his yellow Hollow irises. and then when Ichigo wears his Hollow Mask, his irises also become yellow and his sclera even turn black. it's this really cool detail.
It's kind of ironic how bleach is least known by fans cause of the damn bount arc that if it never happened it would probably be more popular today, is the most influential in modern anime with mainly the horror aspects but I feel like the anime nowadays that's closest to bleach is demon slayer as it has the hashira which is basically the gotei 13, the demons and upper moons which are the hollows and arrancars, the hierarchy within the demon slayer corps and upper moons, mirroring the gotei 13 and the espada, and the main weapon being swords
People talk about Black Clover being inspired by Naruto but i dont see that, i see it with Asta but only Asta. Everything else i see Bleach, inner demon, captains, devils etc. Also just a note the 2nd part of TYBW will end only half way through the arc there is meant to be 4 parts of 13 episodes.
Bleach is really by far the best of the big three, I don't like the other two much. The influence is easy to see now that you point it out. Thank you for the Video, I enjoyed watching it.
When I first watched Bleach, it reminded me of...Saint Seiya . Soul Society arc vs Sanctuary Arc. 12 captains vs 12 Gold Saints, in both cases changing sides along the story.
One slight correction, with the Hell arc one shot, it is very much likely that Bleach will continue for at least one last arc once Kubo is done working on the anime.
100% accurate. If you were to somehow make a genealogy map tracing the roots of modern manga, series like JJK, CSM, D3, and DS; those series have taken far more inspiration from Bleach and before that HxH, and if we went back further even things like Devilman in terms of style, tone, and themes.
The thing is Bleach got a big concept that needs to be more explor. The Fullbring, Hueco Mundo, Ichigo Friends, The Shinigami themself could have been made into an own Serie. While JJK sticks with one concept and stick with fighting demons instead off going into other world.
Not to say Bleach wasn't a major inspiration for Yuji's whole mysterious lineage side plot, but I like how you can make a clean through-line from Yu Yu Hakusho to Bleach to Jujutsu Kaisen.
In the tales, onmyouji fights yokai using spiritual energy, and Minamoto's clan fights yokai with weapons, since at least heian period. Bleach could have some influence, of course, but saying it is THE influence, is a bit too much. There is a bunch of this type of tales in Japanese folklore for centuries, even millennia.
@@animec-dramaskpop6362Just like how Naruto popularized Japanese gods and goddesses with the names for the Mangekyo Sharingan abilities, or how the tailed beasts are inspired by creatures in mythology like the nine-tailed fox. I want more bleach dna animes honestly, like yuji ≈ ichigo is something i loved. But not many others worked on this type... Like we see so much of hokage and pirate king protag being expanded on
I really enjoyed this ideo. Weirdly I always linked the squad captains & Ichigo & Yuji having spirits instead them as Naruto influnces which itself felt inspired by Tora & Ushiro. the chain of influence goes on and on I guess

When I first saw this video's title I was like *"WHAT DID HE SAYYYY?" (In the meme voice).* Now that I actually watched the video, I just want to say that Bleach definitely deserves its credit and its flowers. However, it is inaccurate to say Bleach had an outsized role in these new-generation shows. I would say each of the Big Three and shows like Hunter x Hunter deserves their flowers as well. Like regarding Chainsaw Man, Fujimoto-sensei used inspirations from multiple different mediums in a groundbreaking, earth-shattering way. Also, (small nitpick) Tokyo Ghoul is not in the shounen demographic. It is in the seinen demographic.
Out of the big 3, Naruto had been my favorite, then Bleach, and I didn't read One Piece. Now a days, I pretty much feel nothing but sadness from Naruto, and I still haven't read One Piece, but I have gained a new appreciation for Bleach, so it's now my favorite of the big 3.
If u ever start to read OP. Do not rush it to get caught up enjoy the journey. If u are more into cool and badass stuff I do gotta say the beginnig saga's are gonna a be a bit boring for u cause that part is heavily aimed for like below 13 kids. But for me it was great since the 1st chapter. OP has its own way of being badass while being goofy. Do not get OP to pop up on your social media feeds cause u are gonna got spoiled tf out of it. The world building and plot and unraveling the mysteries is the best part about it.
I'm similar. Loved both Naruto and Bleach, while Naruto even slightly more. I've tried One Piece, begun enjoying some episodes, episodes 20-30 bored me, and I dropped it at around the 30s (also because of a lack of time at that moment), which people say is a bit too early... Shame I'll definitely give it a second try (this time with the manga)
I think the moment I realized how much JJK takes inspiration from Bleach was when they mentioned that their their curse techniques become stronger if the enemy knows them.
I credit bleach for making anime so much fucking cooler, I love that Kubo is so into fashion and super appreciative that bleeding into anime as a whole.
for a quick second i fucking forgot One Piece is also a part of the Big 3 before the intro mentioned it because I've been spam reading it recently with having finally reached Wano Arc today itself so ig it just didn't seem as far off or such a mammoth of a series anymore and yes that did basically make me forget it's a big three 💀
i'm aware that this is a old video but just want to point this out, bleach isn't ending after the second part but instead will have 4 parts and in total has been booked for 52 episodes.
@@dinomoney2142 No Bleach manga never became no 1 in ratings or sales. Ratings by what are u talking about? cause as far as I know nobody rates it arc by arc(I'm not saying ratings of individual arcs but ratings of the manga as a whole every arc)
I actually think Naruto had just as much impact, with Naruto having kyubi and Ichigo having hollow. However, the squad system and the power of system of 3 people is a huge inspiration from Naruto. Bleach however is not as much original since Bleach is lot more like Yu Yu Hakusho. So Bleach is not really as much inspiration it's in the long line of attraction to demons and so forth. To me One Piece has the least influence because, it's unique type and far more adventurous and I don't see any manga having as much adventurous aspect as One Piece. But recently, I guess lot of Bleach theme in regards to Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon slayer but to me Jujutsu Kaisen seems to be a mix of Naruto and Bleach. Gojo-Kakashi, Itadari-Naruto. However taking down curse spirits in modern settings is like Bleach.
The thing that made me see Itadari's squad as inspired by naruto, is how Gojo - Kakashi, and especially Megumi - Sasuke share strong similarities (Megumi even being the serious, easily-waxed member). Bleach also had a squad of four (Ichigo, Orihime, Chad, Ishida), but no mentor, and I don't see Chad, or Ishida being reflected in either Kakashi or Sasuke, and Nobara's character is a bit closer to Sakura's, than Orihime's.
Well when it comes to Art Style and atmosphere, sure since Bleach has a darker vibe than One Piece or Naruto. BUT Naruto is the most influential one, One Piece is the most popular one. Bleach's concept of the talented MC who unlocks his hidden potential during his fight is the blueprint for many modern shounen just as other Bleach characters. But so is Naruto if not more with ,,his unlocking your potential through hard work'' characters. I would say it has more influence than One Piece for sure. I could make other points but that would make this comment way too long😅😅
i feel like once the one mangaka hones his craft.... you know that guy that grew up with all of these big 3's and got that mangaka special gene - we're gonna get that one perfect anime
think CSM is more inspired from Evangelion, FLCL, Devilman Crybaby and ABARA (manga) ... BLEACH didn't inspire Chainsaw Man as much this video claims.. all shonen use some common shonen tropes that are present in most series both old and new. Those tropes aren't the contribution of Bleach. But Bleach has influenced JJK and Black Clover directly.
@@eddieboston6540 JJK is def more Bleach like some of the character designs are straight up rip offs. Ichigo and Yuji are pretty similar with them both just wanting to protect the people they care about. Even the power system is more similar to bleach.
Bleach as you go on let’s you know why Ichigo fights and works to be stronger. He doesn’t want to be the strongest or a ruler, all he ever wants is to have power to protect what he loves. It’s not a selfish desire, but a way to prevent a tragedy from happening again
How do you manage to measure how Bleach is the MOST influential? It is influential for sure, but to make the claim that it exceeds others by a wide margin, you have to make compelling arguments. Unfortunately, I don't think you make any in this video.
To me is my favorite of the big 3. Because I'm also a fan of Saint Seiya and Kubo allowed me to relived Saint Seiya. I mean, everyone talks about demons but Kubo invented his own types of creatures.
bleach is more influential because shonen manga has been on a trend to go with darker and more gritty stories of which bleach went more down that path compared to the other 2, also because bleach is set in a more 'realistic world' its easier to draw symbolism, its much harder when your dealing with something as fantasy as naruto and especially as extreme fantasy as one piece. A manga would have to be hardpressed to become similar to naruto or one piece without becoming to close to become a copy.
Kubo said he was inspired by two series Ge ge ge no Kitaro and Saint Seiya, the 13 Captains are the Pope and 12 Golden Saints of Saint Seiya. The Soul Society Arc was the exact same Arc as the 12 houses of Saint Seiya, the team of the protagonist invades the base of the people with similar powers to him (Sanctuary or Soul Society) and then the protagonist and his friends have to fight all the captains or golden saints in order to rescue someone very important.

Bleach definitely maxxed out it's style points. In the characters, the drip, the epic moments, it just hit different.
This explains EXACTLY why Bleach is awesome

@@biazacha Chuuni as a genre really kicked off in the early-mid 2000s in otaku media, with notable works like Fate, Dies Irae, Ayakashibito, Comyu, etc..., and a core part of chuuni is the urban fantasy setting where the MC gets pulled into life/death magic battle but in the modern era. Bleach feels like a proto-chuuni work with its styling and over the top flair, even though it ended up moved away from the urban fantasy setting into straight fantasy with its first major arc. Though ironically its after Bleach moved away from its urban fantasy setting is when Kubo started really ramping up the style points.
just cause kubo likes fashion??
You can see Bleach's DNA in so much of modern shounen
For better or worse. In the case of MHA, it is the worse (looking at you AFO).
I can also see Bleach's DNA in Kingdom Hearts and Danny Phantom.

I want to point out that there's one key difference between both Naruto/One Piece and Bleach, and also series inspired by Naruto/One Piece and series Inspired by Bleach
Back in the 80s, the three biggest properties from Shonen Jump were what should be considered the fathers of Shonen today, Saint Seiya, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and Dragon Ball.
The amount of Saint Seiya dickriding is crazy "greatest arc in shonen"
Just gonna disrespect Yu Yu Hakusho when we both know that was the true inspiration for Bleach. Saint Seya was sprinkled in but YYH was the main catalyst for Bleach

To me urahara was a secretly strong, hidden bloodlust kind of character and gojo is a goofy nonchalant "yup im the strongest" kind of character

I noticed that Mob Psycho had a similar theme to Bleach. Ichigo had to accept himself, his hollow power. He thought of it as a power he tapped into as a last resprt that he hated.
JJK is JJK, Bleach is Bleach.

what if I told you that Gege is an enormous Hunter X Hunter fan and that Gojo is actually inspired a lot by Killua
Grimmjow is a very extreme Sukuna
Hell, they even have the same Japanese VA
Gojo also has nothing in common with Urahara. He has his own personality, not similar to either Kakashi or Urahara. The design was borrowed not from Kakashi, but from Tonbo Tabitake, as Gege himself said.
JJK’s author literally admitted bleach was a big inspiration. Bleach is such an important anime, for new gen
may I add the obvious influence of bleach's yoruichi and soifon's dynamic (soifon being "why didn't you take me with you??" when yoruichi fled the soul society) to maki and mai (mai being "why didn't you fall with me?" when maki left the zenins) also both pairs (soifon and mai mostly) had some a bit of codependency going on with the other (yoruichi and maki)
and also heard from others how black clover's zenon took inspo as well with ulquiorra's segunda etapa form??

Bleach is still one of my inspirations when I draw weapons for my OCs.
I abosolutely loved Bleach, so when I now see how many similarities it has to JJK, I know understand why I enjoy JJK so much.

As much as I live and breathe of one piece you can't deny bleach has inspired the most modern shonen and it is not even a question at this point.
The thing with OP is the style and world is its own. Like u can't use it without just copy pasting it. The GOAT oda pretty much completed and owns the pirate genre of shounen manga.
@@rand12389yeah it’s not even a bad thing. I love bleach the most personally but what one piece has done is so amazing. It would be so hard to take inspiration from the master piece cause if u did it would look like you copied it. I love one piece probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite show! The world building is incredible. Kudos to Oda.
Things in bleach that inspired ds and jjk:
Espadas: upper moons
Captains: Hashiras
Zanpakuto Shikai : Katanas breathing
Bankai : Domain expension
Shinigamis: Slayers/ sorcerers
Hollow: Curses
Aizen : Kenjaku
Kenpachi : Aoi
Urahara : Gojo ?
I mean Bleach took inspiration from Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya and Yu Yu Hakusho so obviously today's Shounen would take inspiration from Bleach...
It’s GeGeGe no Kitora, Saint Seyia and Bastard!! Heavy metal,Dark fantasy that influenced Bleach
@@Chillchildren999 Kubo specifically mentioned Toriyama and Dragon Ball with regards to his villains, bro 🤦🏻♂️
@@Chillchildren999bleach first rollout is basically a yyh ripoff
9:57 Wow this is one (of many) great points!! I hadn't drawn the comparison myself, but it if Very fascinating!!
Plot Twist they were all influenced by Shaman King and only Shaman King 😱
LET'S GOOOO
No
No ?
What’s Shaman King?
Shaman king is a laugh 😂 watched it but its just nah, terrible fucking ending, just fucking terrible and disapointing
The anime wasn't given the best quality even the writer said he was quite let down and upset with it but now thousand year blood war is his baby and wishes the whole anime was like it god bless it came back
Thanks for putting that in a more eloquent way than I could i'm always happy to see more animes that took inspiration from bleach@tongsandoval1818
"Bleach is ending with the 2nd part of the tybw" huh? There's gonna be 4 parts and there's a new arc beginning in manga
When I first saw this video's title I was like *"WHAT DID HE SAYYYY?" (In the meme voice).*
Now that I actually watched the video, I just want to say that Bleach definitely deserves its credit and its flowers.
Yuyu Hakusho and HxH has the most impact to the big three.
I was so caught off guard when you mentioned Seraph of the end, I love that series
Out of the big 3, Naruto had been my favorite, then Bleach, and I didn't read One Piece. Now a days, I pretty much feel nothing but sadness from Naruto, and I still haven't read One Piece, but I have gained a new appreciation for Bleach, so it's now my favorite of the big 3.
read one piece. Its a wild ride you will enjoy!
Shame
I'll definitely give it a second try (this time with the manga)
I think the moment I realized how much JJK takes inspiration from Bleach was when they mentioned that their their curse techniques become stronger if the enemy knows them.
They all got there influence from the best anime ever, yu yu hakusho
You can’t forget YYH for inspiring bleach
Bleach is the coolest anime i have ever watched
No. When the story got rushed thats when it dropped in ratings. Bleach was lit and even number 1 at a point
In anime right?
@@rand12389 both. Manga and Anime
@@dinomoney2142 No Bleach manga never became no 1 in ratings or sales. Ratings by what are u talking about? cause as far as I know nobody rates it arc by arc(I'm not saying ratings of individual arcs but ratings of the manga as a whole every arc)
@@rand12389 it was number 1 at 1 point😪
@@dinomoney2142nope. proof? Maybe when TYBW came out but not before. A lot of anime have been at 1 at one point but they always drop down
1:55 Guts and Ichigo are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! WHAT DO YOU MEAN? 😂😂😂😂😂
I am also very confused as to how he even came up with that comparison
I loved Bleach. Such a good show. I’ve noticed a lot of inspirations from bleach in many shows
Bleach my top favorite all together seriously❤❤🎉😂😊
fun fact, kubo has his own fashion company.
The same can be said about Naruto for jjk and black clover which in black clover case fairy tail is most of it.
Black Clover easily takes more from Bleach than it does Naruto or One Piece. Bro even foreshadowed a twist with a character using the Aizen pose.
It takes from Naruto and Fairy Tail
Aizen and Julius
Jujutsu Kaisen is obviously inspired by Bleach but the power system is heavily inspired by Hunter x Hunter
And yu yu hakusho
To me is my favorite of the big 3. Because I'm also a fan of Saint Seiya and Kubo allowed me to relived Saint Seiya. I mean, everyone talks about demons but Kubo invented his own types of creatures.
Why Bleach is the Most Influential of the Big Three ?
Cuz it's the best out of the big three
calm down now, bleach is great but its not better than one piece
bleach is more influential because shonen manga has been on a trend to go with darker and more gritty stories of which bleach went more down that path compared to the other 2, also because bleach is set in a more 'realistic world' its easier to draw symbolism, its much harder when your dealing with something as fantasy as naruto and especially as extreme fantasy as one piece.
I thought bleach would have two more parts before it's over. There's no way they're finishing the thousand year blood war in the next 13 episodes
Nah, it's 4 cours/parts total, ~13 episodes each.
39 more episodes to go - in other words, 3 more seasons/parts.
Who told you that? It's wrong information
@@Everythingz127 It's not wrong information. There's still the second invasion, Reioukyuu invasion and the final battles + added content. There's gonna be 4 Cours
It's not, It does have two more parts
@@et.anthem I think he's reffering to the original commentor
Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, Black Clover, I’d even go as far as say Blue Exorcist
